By far the best burger place in Dublin. They expanded, but still maintained their quality of using fresh Irish beef and fresh potatoes for their fries options. If you are in dublin, this is a must visit. Iconic burger stop! The burgers prices range between €8.75 - €12.65 depending on cheese and patties count. Toppings are all free Fries options range between €3.95 - €5.95, sweet potato fries being the most expensive. 10 out of 10 recommend!!!

The Bunsen cheeseburger is done well! The meat is a nice pink medium (you can get it more well done as well), the bread nice and fluffy, and the sauce in the burger has the right amount of ketchup, mustard, and mayo. The lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle add a good mix of texture that enhances the cheeseburger. Sweet potato fries are hot with the right balance of crunchy and soft sweet potato texture. This is definitely my default burger place in Dublin. They offer a small menu, but they do every item perfectly!

If you're in Dublin and craving a burger, this is a good choice. If I had to compare Bunsen to a US burger chain, the meat has a similar texture and flavor to Smash Burger (that's a compliment, as far as I'm concerned). The menu is simple: burger with or without cheese, one patty or two. You can pick how much you want it cooked (I went with medium). It comes with condiments but you can remove them (no mayo!) The choice of fries are hand cut, shoe string or sweet potato. The hand cut were OK but not remarkable; very lightly salted. A big enough portion for two people. Sort drinks, beer and wine for drinks. Oddly the beer choices were american brands, not Irish ones. The milk shake on the next table looked tempting. You can pay by credit card. I would give the burger 4 stars but the French fries bring it down a notch

One of the best burgers I've had for awhile in terms of new food adventures of burgers! It was juicy, flavorful and simply delicious! Add the shoestring fries that makes you want more because it's so thin, that I was just stuffing my mouth with the entirety of everything! That was how bomb it was!

Exactly what they claim. I'm a burger junky, so "best burger" is subjective. However, it's top notch by every standard. I wasn't aware, they do have beer and wine and an upstairs I missed. Close to another burger joint, so don't get confused. This is the real deal.

Incredible. Such a quaint place, with a small menu and everything is good. My brother compared the quality and taste to a smashburger, I think its better. If I lived here, I'd be going all the time. They have straight up burgers, where you can choose one patty or two, cheese or not, and do you want anything on it. They have a very small wine list, and a few craft bees including their own Bunsen, which was my personal favorite. Definitely worth the visit, I wish I could go all the time!

Not as fast food as you would think because they make it to order so we did find ourselves waiting a bit longer than expected. Simple execution without sacrificing quality, their menu is even on a business card. We were very hungry and thought about getting a double but we were glad we didn't! The single patty was fulfilling and when we saw the guy next to us get served a double, everyone was like holey moley that's big. The Bunsen beer wasn't bad either and they also had wine to offer. It would've been nice to go up to pay instead of waiting around for someone to come to us to speed things up but they only had one card reader. This is a good place to get a solid yummy burger.

The 2nd best burger I've ever had... That's a huge compliment!

I have this ranked as the second best burger I've ever had in my life. That's saying a lot! I've been all over the world and I love burgers. This one is well balanced with truly delicious and thick meat, perfectly melted cheese, lettuce, raw onion, and tomato. The bun is working hard to hold these ingredients together amidst the flowing juices from the tasty burger patties. Yes, I was bold that night and got the double cheeseburger. I took that burger down.... Down to Chinatown! My one and only complaint... I'd really like the option to get grilled onions instead of raw. Oh, and those hand cut fries. Wow. They are way up there with some of the best I've ever had. Just go here, roll up your sleeves, and dig into one of the best burgers you'll ever find on this, or any other, planet.

Casual decor, open kitchen and beer fridge, lighting was on the dim side. Had a Pitburger pilsner beer. Although a bottle beer, it was very crisp, malty, clean, and a bit sweet, very suitable summer drink. Also had a Southern fried chicken burger. Chicken was fried very nicely, the crust was crispy but not overly hard, inside was juicy and piping hot fiber, nicely seasoned with a bit of spices, went very well wtih the fresh veggies and sauce in the burger. The buns were soft and warm, though I might want it toasted a bit more. Also the price might be slightly on the high side (€11.95) for a standard size burger. Nonetheless, taste matters the most.

The restaurant is quite small and there are long tables that they seat parties together at. We had to squeeze in the middle which was fine just a bit hot and cramped. The chicken was well seasoned on the burgers but the bun was wayyy too much bread, could use a different bun we think. They do offer everything in a bowl which is nice so would probably do that rather. The onion rings were also super good. Guessing the man working the room was the owner as he seemed invested and seemed to know some of the customers. All in all good food and we'd give it another go.

With vegetarians and other conservative eaters in our party, we found this place a godsend for a midafternoon pre-Trinity-College-sightseeing meal. Actually, it's pretty good on its own merits. I've eaten at other Counters and I like the setup...but there are too many choices! Patty, bun, cheese, toppings, and sauce. So many options! But if you enjoy culinary creativity and/or control, you will not go wrong here. The sides are good too, except that they were out of fried pickles. Sad face. We enjoyed regular fries, sweet potato fries, and grilled vegetables. Everyone enjoyed their burgers, so the meal was a success. Ironically, The Counter has table service, so it's not quite as quick as you might hope. But their sodas are from a fountain (yay, American style) so you can get refills. Plus, a bonus--their soundtrack of classic rock and respectable 80s and 90s tunes inspired at least four individuals in our multigenerational group to sing at various times. Clearly, they are all about variety.

Giant bottle of Staropramen for a good price rounded out the positives attributes of my meal. Hubs' sweet potato fries were the 2nd best I've ever had (after the defunct 501 Club in Minneapolis). Unfortunately the rest of the meal was overrun with immense amounts of oil. My burger bun arrived. It was the color yellow and the consistency of a soggy sponge. That means somebody dipped it in Golden-Flo cooking oil before crisping it back up. Yes, it tastes delightful...the same way deep-fried Twinkies taste delightful. The guilt of eating it manages to cancel out the enjoyment. Also ruined by oil were the onion STRINGS. Confession: I thought they were onion rings. With just an 'R'. I was duped and disappointed when the STRings arrived looking all skinny and limp. Sure, they were promisingly covered in tasty batter...but as soon as I grabbed the first one, the underneath strings crunched the pile, which subsequently disintegrated into an oily pile of fried dough and stringy onion film on the plate. Not cool. The oil-to-food ratio ended up leaving me with hours of tummy feelings the equivalent to a brick buried in a pit thrown into a black hole. Had to take a dinner coma nap on the couch when I got home. Oh and I am from California so I am allowed to say this: For a California-based and California-themed restaurant, it feels nothing like California. This place feels vapid and sterile and I would never call California sterile. Vapid, maybe. Not sterile.

Served in true fast food joint style, fries on paper plates and tightly wrapped bundle containing the burger. Washing up overhead nil. We both had cheeseburgers with handcut fries after agonising for literally seconds over our choice. Service was brisk and meals appeared within a few minutes. I have a 'thing' about burgers. I like my steaks medium rare but I always insist on a well-done burger for hygiene reasons which, in fairness, this was. My companion had ordered hers medium but it looked very much on the rare side to both of us but she was happy enough. Frankly, I thought it was all pretty meh. Nothing memorable or good enough to drag me back. The burger bun did maintain structural integrity throughout the process which was a plus but the whole thing was decidedly only ok. It was cheap, however, so there's that. Apparently, they have long waits at busy times. No idea why and I'd be furious if I had had to wait in line for a mediocre burger.
