We set up an appointment with Sears.com only to find that it wouldn't take place for 2 1/2 weeks, that the service call alone would cost $120 (which we'd have to pay even if the fridge was completely dead), and the time range they might show up on the date of our appt was between 8am and 5 pm (how convenient...). So we called into the local store and they recommended TJs. We are glad they did. They sent someone out that day who clearly knew what he was talking about, was able to diagnose the problem in less than 15 mins, ordered the part, and installed it the next day in less than 15 mins all at a significantly less expensive price than the same service as offered by Sears. Called then came out at 10:00 next morning and replaced the valve and were done in 30 minutes. Working great and they were pleasant and friendly. They were able to tell almost immediately that the compressor had died. They told us the likely replacement cost (even if we could find a replacement) - over $1,000! This is a big enough % of the replacement cost that we opted to skip the repair and started looking for a replacement instead. We did have to pay for a service call, but compared to other similar repair visits, their rate was fairly reasonable. Based on their visit as well as the level of difficulty in scheduling any alternatives, I'd gladly utilize Fischer's Appliance Repair again in the future.

The service man was very nice and polite but why did he charge me 50 dollars to just put a cheap new knob on only and it does the same thing my nice old knob was doing? Nothing was solved. He then thought he was going to leave the thing around the knob loose as it was not that way when he came and the water nozzle turned side ways. On top of that. He did get me some hot water but tell me what happened to the cold water......only had hot water. Had to call him back out and he did correct the water but couldn't tell me why he didn't replace the whole knob area just stated that the new cheap knob that I was charged 50 dollars for was going to continue turning all around, no stop point.....well you have to find the stop point because it needed the whole piece replaced. Yea, polite but slack business.
