Our appetisers took 70 minutes and our entrees took about 85 minutes to arrive. We asked about the food about an hour in and were told "it's very busy, you need to be patient". Only when we pointed out about the other two tables having eaten did our food arrive. BEWARE; they charge €6.50 for tap water! We questioned it and the woman said "it's not like America, it's normal here". Firstly, we are English and French, not American. Secondly it was our third night in Germany and our seventh time dining out and this was the ONLY place that charged for tap water! The food is also more expensive than anywhere else we ate at in Fussën. Good food but poor service from some of the staff. We went for dessert elsewhere.

As a medical provider, these symptoms are highly consistent with food poisoning. I also noticed the food tasted off and stopped eating early, while the others continued and became ill shortly after. The Scholderer is warm and cozy and we felt at home here. Our server was super nice and warm-- we could tell the other customers felt the same way. We drank the local beer and also enjoyed the local schnapps after dinner. I ordered a US Hamburger which was a-mazing. Probably one of the better hamburgers I have ever had in my life-- sehr lecker! I also fell in the love with the decor-- there are lots of funny signs about drinking. They also had some lovely lit shadowboxes with vintage skiing pins. By the front door was a local man eating dinner with his well-behaved dog at his feet. If we are ever in Garmisch again, we will for sure revisit the Schloderer! The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, you could have a conversation in a normal speaking level even though the place was packed. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a great meal for a good price.
