The bartender opened the kitchen and cooked him an amazing ribeye and me a "Flammkuchen" flat bread that is out-of-this-world amazing. The environment is friendly and cozy. The burgers weren't fresh I believe, but cooked from frozen. That being said, they weren't bad. The salads we ordered were both gigantic and came with ranch dressing (we weren't given a dressing option so ranch might be all you get). I also ordered a baked potato entre that came with a solid assortment of grilled vegetables which was a welcome reprieve - hadn't seen many vegetables anywhere on the menus around here. The service was a little slow considering we were the only group dining at the time, but they'd also just started the dinner service and were probably just getting geared up for the evening. All the staff were very friendly and happy to deal with us in English. Again, this seem like a great place to enjoy a beer at the end of the day. It definitely feels more bar than restaurant, but was plenty comfortable and not crowded at 5-530pm on a Friday night. Super quiet despite being just off the main drag.

We walked in and seated ourselves and were quickly welcomed by our server. The radler and lager were both really good. I got the Allgäuer Kässpätzle, which was incredible. Then we got two desserts to spilt and I couldn't tell you which one was better. The Apfelstrudel was warm and not too sweet and the "Bier"amisu was unique and absolutely delicious. Schloss Brauhaus provided a warm and comfortable place to get out of the rainy cool day we had and some great beer and food!

I drove 5 hours in a storm from Wiesbaden to hit up this spot. Was I ever in for a treat. As I arrived, I was greeted by an older Bavarian couple speaking some type of German that I could not understand. We just stared confusedly at each other and started laughing. Haha!! I was surprised by the diversity of the menu. I ordered a cheese burger and a Hard cider. That was the best burger I have ever had. The high quality of the meat and cheese, even the pickle was insanely delicious. A perfect medium-well presentation. There was a nice beer selection too. I live in San Diego, California which is a craft beer city and I was impressed with The Local Cure's roster. What impressed me most about The Local Cure is the owner, Trevor. What a fantastic gentleman this guy is. Sometimes you can just look at a person and tell that they have a heart of gold. That's this guy! He's such a genuine guy, and cares about the food he makes and the interactions that take place in his bar. It seemed to be a mixture of locals and Americans, about 60:40 respectively. I'm so glad this place was suggested. I am not lying when I tell you this... it was worth every square centimeter of the 5 hr drive. Trevor is such a genuinely cool individual, and puts his soul into his food and customers. Not only do I recommended The Local Cure, I'm going to suggest to all of my friends that go to Europe to visit this Iconic Pub. 5-stars all the way!!!

A friendly young woman gave us an English menu and we ordered a couple of beers and two starters to share. We each had a couple .5L Weizen glasses of Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier, a light Bavarian wheat beer found on tap at most bars in the region. It was exactly what we wanted after all the planes and trains and walking. The starters we shared were the foie gras on toast and a smoked salmon bruschetta. I respect that foie gras isn't for everyone, but as someone who has enjoyed it a few times before, this was maybe the best I've ever had- incredible fresh flavor without any gaminess. The bruschetta was lighter overall and equally fresh. All in all it was an excellent introduction to some of the options this area can offer. It wasn't exactly cheap, but for the quality of the food and service, we definitely didn't feel ripped off.
