If they had better maintenance of the course then it would receive higher rating and be more enjoyable but the sand bunkers were hard rock...not sand at all. There is no need to rake at all. That's how lacking the maintenance is for this place. And having to drive 1.5hrs from Dallas doesn't help.

At Most of the Tee-boxes I needed a hammer just to get my tee in the ground deep enough to hold a ball. The greens were very rough and most had large patches of dirt in the middle of them. Suffice it to say, I won't be back.

When we arrived in the parking lot we were promptly greeted with a a cart in the parking lot for us to use. It had tees and water in the cooler for us. The course fee is at a good price already, we found out we did not have to pay extra for range balls. Nice putting, chipping and bunker practice areas included as well. Course has a nice layout with bunkers everywhere. Sadly recent rain left the fairways on the lower areas muddy. But the areas not damaged by weather were all great. The only downsides are the price of food and alcohol and no grab and go hot food at the grill. Overall a great experience. Going back next weekend to play the 2nd course.

My dog love the beach style lake front to walk along and take an afternoon swim. Took the paddle board and went out on the lake. There was quiet coves nearby. The docks are really convenient if you have a boat. Very clean and has fish cleaning stations, plus they have pontoon boats to rent. My Uncles and I took four hour trip with Brain. We had no problem getting our 10 stripers per…read moreperson limit in that four hours in less than ideal weather conditions. Being a city guy my fishing is something that I do quite infrequently, but with Brain you just show up and he takes care of everything. Boat, Poles, Lures, Bait catching (yea the guy catches bait with a net), hook your bait, unhook your fish and fish filleting (guy is a fish cleaning machine). It is definitely worth the money. So lesson learned here city folks (that includes you suburbanites too) is don't waste your money buying your own fishing equipment that you will never use and don't waste your time aimlessly looking for fish in the lakes. Just pony up once a year for a trip with Brian and get er done.
