I'm leaving another satisfied review here as I've gotten work done with Ricky recently and I'm seeing some reviews that are complaining about response times. Regarding response times... Ricky isn't on his phone all day. He's out working on people's cars. So if he's not responding right away, that's probably why. Yes, it's stressful when your car has damage... Take a deep breath. Ricky will get to you when he can. Just be a little patient! Now, to get into my third review. This will be for the work I've gotten with him in October 2025. OK, well I'll start the review by saying this... I'm a seasoned Art Director working in commercial advertising. I've got an eagle eye for imperfections. So, when a metal box flew into my bumper on the freeway onto my brand new 2026 Tesla Model Y I decided to hit up Ricky. Ricky has worked on my old Accord and my sister's cars over the years. He's done fantastic work. You can't even point out where the damage was done previously. And I am so good at pointing out imperfections. Of course, when I hit up Ricky I was still worried. This car is my first big boy car purchase as it's nice and shiny and new... In my head I was still thinking, "What if he isn't able to blend it right?" "What if the paint ends up being off bc it's a Tesla?" Still, I hit up Ricky and he was honest about what to expect. Because my damage was done at a flat part of the bumper, blending out isn't as clean cut as it would have been compared to a more rounded angle of the car. Makes sense. With the way light hits the touchup work, a blemish might still show--that goes for any detailer. Still, I went ahead and put my trust in Ricky knowing he's done phenomenal work in the past. After setting up a date, Ricky came by my house and got to work. I was busy with my own work and so I went back into continue working. After about a couple hours, he let me know he was finished and when I came back out to look at the work, I was stunned. I'll attach the photos below but my god, Ricky's work was flawless. I shouldn't have doubted him! I really couldn't see where the damage was anymore... And the original damage was very noticeable. And even though the damage was done in a difficult spot, Ricky's work was able to please my eyes. TL;DR: I 1000% recommend consulting with Ricky for your next bumper repair work. He is a blending wizard. For me he'll always be my #1 go (and reco) for stuff like this. I'm already so hard to please with things like this! P.S. Ricky's work was of such good value for the price. He is worth every penny, and he's so affordable! With all that, Ricky is also such a great human being. He's VERY easy to talk to, and super level headed and honest. I had gotten a quote from Ricky back in 2006, but ended up not getting the repair done at that time (didn't have the money). But liked his response enough at that time, so while looking to fix a bumper damage for my car this month, I started searching old emails for his contact details. Long story short, he sent me a quote after looking at the damage pictures I texted, but on the day he came to fix the bumper he said the damage is not as bad as it appeared in the pictures, and will fix it for lower than the quoted price. It is rare to find someone so honest & scrupulous these days & I'd rather do business with someone like that even if they may cost a bit more or wait longer for the service. I found Ricky/Bumper Solutions here on Yelp and I couldn't be any more pleased with the quality of service that I received after my BMW was "kissed" by an 18 wheeler on the 710. I used the "Request a Quote" feature on Yelp, uploaded a few photos of my bumper, and had a reasonable quote in minutes. We were able to set an appointment for 2 days later. Ricky arrived on time and was great to deal with. He was friendly and personable while working diligently on my repair. His work is amazing and I would never know that there was ever any damage. The paint match and clear coat is perfection. I actually found a couple of things that I want him to fix on my front bumper, and I'll be calling him again soon. I'm really anal about how my car looks and also a bit clumsy with curbs and things, so that means getting my bumper repaired fairly often. I had previously used Dan the Bumper Man in the OC a couple of times but had to borrow a friend's driveway since I live in LA. I was excited to find Ricky and Bumper Solutions in LA because it meant I wouldn't have to drive all the way to the OC or borrow my friend's driveway (but note, you do need a driveway for any of these mobile repair services to work in). I love these types of mobile services because it means no dropping your car off at a shop, waiting, and not having your car while it is repaired, and it's also less expensive. I emailed Ricky on 10/7/19 and go the following message: "Thanks for sending the photos. I can weld the cracks together. Repair the front fender. Then repaint the whole bumper and blend the fender. The car is a white pearl 3 stage paint. Which is the premium paint. I can go to you and do the work. Price is $750" A bit pricey, but I liked the convenience so I went for it. He told me he could be there before 9 am on Monday 10/14/19 as he knew I had to be at work at 9 am. He showed up close to 9:30 am without any warning that he would be late, but I understand, traffic happens. I was late for work, but oh well. I was initially still thrilled with the work. Ricky finished at 12:30 pm and sent me pictures of the finished work - it was beautiful! Like nothing had happened! And he even got the light working again (it had gone out from my incident with the parking gate). $750 was a lot more than I wanted to spend (Dan the Bumper Man had been $400 each time, but for less damage) but I was so happy that it was definitely worth it. At that point I would have left a 5 star review despite him being late. 3 months later... The bumper detached from my car at the site of the original impact, where Ricky had fixed. I reached out to Ricky on 12/14/19 and he said that he could come adjust it. I tried to coordinate a time several times, to which he never responded (ignored emails, texts). Finally on 1/3/20 he responded and told he had been out of town for the holidays. I tried again to schedule a time, with no response to this date. I get that he will get no money for this repair so it's not a priority, but I did pay $750 and, being as clumsy as I am, am someone that you want as a repeat customer, which I no longer will be. He had assured me that his work would (cosmetically) be the same as getting a new bumper but I don't think a new bumper would continuously detach from the vehicle. So, I decided, after already spending $750 to get it fixed by Ricky, to take it to a real auto body shop and get the bumper properly replaced/repaired. It was essentially a waste of money. I would say, this mobile repair is probably good only for small cosmetic damages as I feel like even if he had come to adjust it, it would just detach again, and he should have been honest about the fact that my damages were too great for the work that he could do. read more

My experience with Ricky was for front bumper dings/scratches and a dent in the front fender. I thought it shouldn't be that big of a deal and for someone, maybe it wasn't. He did repair the damage and I thought it looked good. Until later when I looked at the difference in the paint between the fender and the adjoining door. It didn't match and there was a noticeable difference. I contacted him to tell him about this and his response was that it is an old car and this is why the paint didn't match. If he felt the car was old and the paint wasn't going to match, he should have told me that before he even started. This is a 20 year old Mercedes that has always been garaged and is in pristine condition. After this work was done I took the car to two different reputable auto body shops to have it looked at. I told them what happened and both of them said the same thing. They could have easily matched the paint even though this is an "old" car as Ricky said. Yes, it would have cost more for them but I guess that is what you get when you pay less and have the convenience of coming to your place. For some sort of repairs such as repairing and painting a bumper this might be fine but for other work like I had, I wouldn't recommend. read more

Ricky and Bumper Solutions did an excellent job on both of our cars. The white Kia 2018 had a gouge from a large rock and the Black 1998 Toyota had damage from backing into a stucco post. He was prompt, courteous and very professional. His work and work area was very tidy and you can't even tell the cars were ever damaged. No overspray, paint mess or trash was left in our driveway. So my Mazda6 got too close to concrete column. Not only was there paint transfer from the white column, but the scratches cut deep right through the paint into the plastic bumper. To make matters worse, it dented the edge of the quarter panel, meaning it needed to be pulled and painted to match the bumper. Ricky did a PHENOMENAL JOB right from the get-go: I called and left a message, he called me back quickly, I texted photos, he told what I needed to have done, quoted me a price, scheduled me, came to my job and got it done in a matter of hours and the car looks BRAND NEW. Ricky is a dishonest swindler and is highly not recommended. He likes to up charge and not stick to his word. He said he would make our bumper look brand new for 400 bucks. He came over and worked on the car for 30 mins. He pulled the bump out, but it looked only half fixed. He said he would only charge 200 for now, that he had to leave to another appointment. And that he would come back and fix it 100% for the other 200 to make 400 total.. I said ok. When I reached out to Ricky to finish the job, he said that the it was going to now be an extra 300 to complete the job! That the cost of materials had gone up. What a bunch of BS, wow! Lots of cars have a low aerodynamic front end made of plastic these days. My Mercedes Benz SL55 is one of them. Trouble is, parking lots are still rife with parking "bumpers" nearly the size of hitching posts that are made of concrete and metal...and eat modern front bumpers like a crocodile eats a wildebeest when it ventures too close! I felt something funny when I was backing out of a lot, and then checked my bumper to find two big cracks when got home. I'm pretty new to LA, so like I do with most things, I relied on YELP to help me find a solution. BUMPER SOLUTIONS, proved to be my perfect solution! They had a high rating...and when I reached out, even after 7 pm in the evening, I got a response in TEN MINUTES! We exchanged a few texts. The technician, "Ricky", asked me a couple of questions and sent me some pictures to compare my damage to. He gave me a price for the repair and promised to come to my place the next afternoon, saying he would text me when he was on his way. Ricky arrived in his amazingly self-contained truck and went to work immediately after we exchanged pleasantries. I watched him work and could see that he was not only competent, but exacting in his analysis and execution of every aspect of his procedures. He offered to do a little bit of extra work to raise the underside of the bumper slightly, to help ensure that I didn't have the same mishap in the future. While parking, I clipped the side of my car on the concrete beam and scraped the paint down to the metal (on the bumper and quarter panel). As some of the other reviewers have said, it's not a "real" fix, it's mostly cosmetic... Which Ricky told me upfront. It was exactly what I needed for the front lip of my car since there's a 99.97% chance I'll pull up too far into a parking spot and crack it again. 350 for the repair which took about 2.5 hours. It's been a few months and it still looks shiny and new and hasn't fallen apart so it was def worth it for me. it's not the cheapest but it is cheaper! I had called around 3-4 places to get estimates to replace that piece of plastic w a new part and it would have cost me 500-750, getting a rental and dropping my car off at a shop.. I'm lazy. I like it when things to come to me.
