Predatory Tow Scam & Rude Service -- Avoid at All Costs This dishonest body shop falsely claimed to be an official Mercedes-Benz partner and tricked me into signing for a tow. Later, they charged an outrageous $730 towing fee and $250/day for storage , and even added a made-up "prescan" charge (Photo 1). When I tried to retrieve the car, the staff named Celine were extremely rude , refused to explain anything, and kept pushing for payment . They also threatened that if I didn't sign a release by 12pm -- which included a predatory clause stating I'd be charged $15,000 if repairs weren't done there (Photo 2) -- they would close the shop and continue to charge storage fees. With help from the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) , we were able to avoid signing the contract, but still had to pay the ridiculous fees just to get the car back . This shop is full of scams and shady tactics. I BEG you to not go here. It took weeks for me to get my car back. When I walked up another customer was exasperated and yelling to not take my car there; unfortunately, I did. Took weeks longer than it should have, the door sticks when closing it, and I never got the sticker that goes on the door and was promised to me. I went to another place and completely different. PREDATORY! SCAM BUSINESS!! I have never had such a horrible experience with a business before. My car was towed there after a wreck. The front desk lady told me insurance would be reaching out to arrange the next steps. One week later, I receive a bill from them for $2,000. I went there with the title of car to negotiate and let them know I didn't have the money for such a high storage bill. The manager screamed F words at me and threatened to call the police (I'm a young, blonde, female and the manager was a heavy set tall, intimidating man). Next, I went there with a police officer to try to get access to my belongings in the car. They denied me access, then 10 minutes later, I get a call from the tow company that originally towed my car there telling me they had my car. I felt really manipulated. If my car wasn't there, why wouldn't they tell me? The entire experience was disorienting, frightening, and upsetting. If you check other reviews, you can find at least five other reviews in which people experienced the same thing as me- wrecked car towed there, trying to gouge people in vulnerable situations for an astronomical amount of money. Oh, and when I finally did get access to my vehicle at the tow company's yard, most of my stuff had been stolen. These people are criminals. Don't give them your business. If you decide not to let Olympic Coachcraft fix your car (and you shouldn't!), they hold it ransom until you pay them $1,800 in cash to release your car + other fees, as other reviewers have identified. I will be reporting them to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, but please do not work with them. They should be ashamed of doing this kind of unethical business, preying on people after they've been in an accident and are shaken up. If they only way they can get business is by getting rogue tow trucks to funnel them business then they should close their doors and find another job. This is my second review for this company as it's well-deserved! Unfortunately, some bonehead hit my car while parked in a garage, resulting in extensive damage to the paint, passenger rear wheel well and bumper. I was sick about the damage as the paint is custom color, multi-stage metallic which appears as different hues/colors based on the light. To say it's next to impossible to match is an understatement. I immediately took it to Olympic Coachcraft as their service and body/paint work is the BEST in Los Angeles. As soon as I pulled up I was greeted by Anna who went out of her way to reassure me that they could bring it back to original. Throughout the process, Vivica, Selene, and Bob stayed in contact with me, updating me on the progress. Olympic Coachcraft - Body Shops Near Me - Santa Monica, California

Summary: Poor quality of work. Left parts that they didn't replace damaged from the work that they did do. The work took way longer than it should have. Although the ladies are very nice, they were not able to give accurate estimates of the when my car would be ready nor did they ever follow up on their promises to call me. Work: I posted a before picture to show the extent of the damage from the accident and as evidence that there was no prior damage to the areas that Olympic Coachcraft damaged during the repair. The body work itself is pretty good but who ever does the clear coat/detailing is careless. Both of my taillights have fading/scratching that is clearly from the circular buffing machine. All of the parts they replaced with OEM parts have swirl marks which suggests that they are not new and clear coat was never actually applied to the parts or the clear coat guy is just really bad at his job. There is also damage to my tint. The detailing person must have used a cloth with debris on it. The exhaust pipe has a large scratch on it and so does the new bumper. Timing: They took 4 weeks to do a job that I've had done at other shops in a week. I called them to see if it was going to be ready on time a couple days before they said it was going to be ready and they told me they needed to push it back a day. 10 minutes before the time they told me I could pick it up they call to tell me its not ready. I needed to the car for my weekend plans so I picked it up unfinished. They told me I need to bring it back for 4 hours the following week to finish the job. I brought it back to them to work on for 8 hours and it was obvious they hadn't finished detailing it. The passenger side of the vehicle was covered in watermarks. I choose Olympic Coachcraft because Subaru of Santa Monica recommended them. During my appraisal the manager impressed me with her attention to detail. Ironically, the damage details she pointed out were not even repaired. I didn't have the time to let them keep my car any longer so I didn't bother to mention these issue to them before leaving nor did I have confidence that they would rectify them after sending a vehicle out partially done twice with more then enough time to complete the job. read more

My car was totaled and was brought to Olympic Coachcraft for storage. I cannot comment on their repair work as my car was non-repairable. However, I can vouch for their customer service. The accident happened on Sunday and by 10am Monday morning Viveca from the office had emailed me their findings after inspecting my car. She was there when I went up the next day and was patient and accommodating by having someone move my car for me so I could get the right angles for photos for my insurance company. Just. Epic. Kinda inspiring, too. A very rare woman-owned body shop. Genuine integrity- also a rarity in the body shop universe. I've been ripped off too many times to count, 'cause I'm a chick and the male body shops assume I'm completely ignorant. They get all pissy when I call them out on their gyp. In sharp contrast, the owner, Anna Hyun, went out of her way to help me, precisely BECAUSE I'm a girl. She got sick of men taking advantage of female patrons, so her philosophy is to do right by girls for a change, doing whatever's within her power. But that doesn't mean she treats guys poorly. Just the opposite. I witnessed. The front office staff is all women, too! Anna also showed me how to make the best use of my insurance and the deductible, so I could keep my out-of-pocket costs to a bare minimum. Her approach was stupid ingenious- it never would have occurred to me. And I'm not easily amused. It turned out that I didn't need to use my insurance at all- yay! The splash guard thingy (or whatever it's called) underneath the front skirt of my 440i fell off in a half-assed way. I was dragging the unscrewed end of it everywhere, even while driving slowly. Called BMW Assist to get it towed to the dealership. But the dispatched technician inspected the damage, then made a call to Anna. It beat having to travel 20 mi, way bfe. She got me back on the road in 30 min, no joke. A bonus for me is that Anna's background is of specialized BMW training. She really knows insurance policies and the best way to avoid a rate increase or a LexisNexis ding. If you've read this far, thanks and good for you ;) I don't review. Ever. But I was compelled to. Do not go here!!! If you ever get into a car accident, call your insurance FIRST before you agree to anyone touching or towing your vehicle. Olympic Coachcraft does not provide clear guidance! I was involved in a car accident, and before I could call my insurance or AAA, Olympic Coachcraft arrived on the scene and began towing my car. I am not from the Los Angeles area and the car accident occurred at a busy intersection. I thought that this was the standard protocol: to get my vehicle out of the way of traffic. I was not asked if I had called anyone to tow my vehicle or if I spoke to my insurance. I was rushed into the tow truck and told I could call my insurance later once I arrive to the collision center. Once I arrived to Olympic Coachcraft, there was no guidance from the staff. They did not ask if I wanted my vehicle repaired there or if I needed my vehicle to be picked up to be taken to a different collision center. They do not explain anything to you unless you ask. I felt like they were taking advantage of me because I had no experience with this kind of situation. Now that I've been in this type of accident, I am fully aware of what I need to do and I want to make sure others are informed so they don't succumb to the same pitfalls I did. Insurance could send over an adjuster to any collision center your vehicle is towed to but in my situation, I wanted my vehicle transported to a collision center closer to where I live, since I am not from the Los Angeles area. I was not asked about any of this when I arrived at Olympic Coachcraft. If this is the collision center you end up at, make sure it is where you want your vehicle assessed and repaired. My Subaru dealer service guy recommended this auto body shop. Unfortunately my car was considered a total loss so I had to go there to collect my personal belongings. The young man who helped me was kind and extra helpful. Shaune Finney not only took out the wheel locks from my car but also took out my damaged bike rack. He had to jiggle awhile to get it off. He helped carried it to my other car and placed it in with cushions. The whole time he calms me with assuring words about the process. He made my horrible day a lot brighter. I've had 2 different cars that needed bodywork over the last 5 years, due to no-fault incidents. (2017 & 2021 during Covid lock down.) Anna, Viveca and her amazing Team at Olympic Coachcraft, have consistently been "the answer"! They are honest, reliable and they really care about their Clients. My car was in an accident and was towed to Olympic Coachcraft by a driver who flashed AAA signage and claimed to be a AAA driver. Olympic Coachcraft then tried to get me to pay around $1,800 for a list of ridiculous and expensive things, like "sanitize interior at drop off" for $85, "prescan vehicle" for $234, "forklift" for $200, and many more. AAA wound up paying them something but I don't know what. The place took advantage of us, and that they would do business with that tow truck driver! I can't thank Olympic Coachcraft enough for fixing my Prius Prime. The people here are super expert at doing Toyota repairs (and I'm sure other cars, too) -I was referred here from the Toyota Santa Monica and I'm so glad I followed through with their referral! I had issues with the bottom coming off; it was scraping on the road sometimes when I would drive... that was the only issue I was aware of so I brought my car in specifically for that, but then they found a plethora of other issues with the front hood, headlight, etc etc. I was originally upset that they kept on finding these issues and that it took almost 2.5 weeks to fix but when I got my car back it was BEAUTIFUL. They even cleaned the inside and it looked brand new and after about two weeks of driving in it I feel grateful for their work. For starters, this dump has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau and it certainly deserves it. My Lexus service advisor recommended this place for a simple detailing job to maintain my beautiful UX - and what a mistake that turned out to be. I picked up the car and drove off, but quickly realized that it smelled like someone barfed in it and then tried to cover it up with cheap perfume. Next, I turned a corner into the sun and a diamond effect on the windshield nearly blinded me and almost caused me to have an accident (so they waxed the windows too!!). They didn't even vacuum the trunk, the steering wheel was sticky and disgusting and I still can't get it cleaned up right. Also, they didn't even attempt to buff out the minor scratch on the passenger side rear bumper. OMG, what else could go wrong!! If you need a detail - go somewhere else, or just get a car wash before you even think of taking your car to this disgusting, slimy and squalid dump that goes by the name of OLYMPIC COACHCRAFT. read more

My dear son was in an accident and the 'friendly' tow truck driver - who said his name was Kevin Tong from Westside Tow - offered to take us to a nearby 'great, reliable' auto shop who would 'take care' of us. We followed him to Olympic Coachcraft and he put our keys inside the shop and we parked outside. Long story short, they didn't get us an estimate for several days and then...$175/day for storage and exorbitant repair estimate. Don't worry, they said ... the Insurance Co will take care of it. After another shop botched my windshield replacement job, I trusted Anna at Olympic Coachcraft to clean up their mess, and she was awesome all the way. My new windshield had been installed on top of rusty metal by the previous shop -- long story -- so job #1 for Anna was to get rid of the rust and repair the metal. She sent me a lot of photos of this process to document what was being done, leaving no doubt in my mind that the rust had been taken care of. Then she consulted with her glass guy to determine how best to put the windshield back onto the vehicle, which is not easy when you're dealing with an old Land Cruiser, as I have now painfully learned firsthand. She had to figure out the best rivet size to use and various other details, and I was so glad she was able to supervise that part of the job as well. When I came to pick up the truck, it was so shiny that I thought it had been detailed. After having such a bad taste in my mouth from the previous shop, it was a relief to find true professionalism at Olympic Coachcraft. I recently rear-ended another vehicle and damaged most of the front-end of my beloved 2017 Mazda MX-5 ND. Fortunately, no one was injured, but I was devastated. After careful research I decided, to my great satisfaction, to go with Olympic Coachcraft for the repairs. The estimated cost of parts and labor came perilously cost to a "totaling" of the car. Fortunately, my insurance company agreed to move forward with the work, and Olympic made sure all parts were OEM and not aftermarket. The attention to detail by the tech staff and the management of the entire transaction by Viveca was exemplary. Anna is great, after an accident I had my car towed over here and she told me that it was totaled and so there was no point in them even trying to fix it. They could've told me that it was perhaps possible to fix it and started the work and billed me or my insurance company but they were extremely upfront and even gave me some really good advice on salvage value, advice which may end up making me a few extra dollars. This place is awesome. I had an accident with my Audi A5. A guy just hit me while turning from right rear bumper and ran away. Whole bumper looked really bad. And I knew I had to fix it but since I am a college student I did not want to pay too much money. I went to couple of different places and was offered two grands to fix it. I was about the give up and on my way to home I saw this place and decided to stop by. A lady came and looked at the damage and told me to wait a minute. Soon a worker came and wiped the damage for couple of minutes with a I don't know a special liquid or something and the whole scratch was totally gone I was really surprised and they did even not charge me for anything.
