Loved the environment, packed with locals. This little cafe serves breakfast all day, it was best breakfast I've had away from home in a long time. This restaurant is a hidden gem and takes you back 30 years when little diners were the norm with excellent home-cooked meals. Fried mush tastes just like what grandpa used to make. Great place in a quaint town. Came to Logansport on a one day business trip and looked up breakfast places. We landed on this place! So glad we did! Food was fantastic! Homemade taste. All the patrons seemed to know each other and the entire staff! Listening to small town conversation was a relaxing distraction from the bigger city life. Feel good food in a feel good place. Out for an early ride with the sunrise (subtle, yet amazingly colorful) and wonderful to find this place open so early, 4:30!, even on the 4th. I certainly agree with the other great reviews and it's so nice to see how many apparent locals enjoy here and make this a great visit. I had a simple traditional breakfast which was prepared perfectly for my liking and I savored the time sitting and reading some after eating. This is certainly my kind of breakfast place and will return... This place! Really hometown kind of people. This is the halfway point between me and my parents. They remembered us from a week ago when we dropped off our kids with the grandparents and then a week later met up to pick up the kids. Super sweet! Candy and gum for the kids. I thought they were closed due to no current postings but when I saw the amount of cars surrounding the place I had to stop in. This is a local gem of a place. Wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic. The only negatives is they do not accept credit cards as they are cash only. The other one is the owner does not understand social media and letting people know about this place. Other than those two things you will not go wrong by stopping here for food. read more

Visited on a Saturday morning during Labor Day weekend and it was very busy, but the service was great. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, kept our drinks full and took our orders in a timely manner. The food was ok, nothing memorable, but good. Prices were budget friendly and portions made our meals a good value. Quality of the food was ok, nothing remarkable. The owner was overseeing the dining room and making sure things were the way he wanted and that customers were given attention needed. My husband and I decided to eat here for breakfast instead of Bob Evans and the other options in town bc of the high ratings. We were so glad we did. The atmosphere is just what we expected. We came in for breakfast and then couldn't decide if maybe we wanted lunch bc the lunch special looked so good. My husband got the everything omelette and the cook made bacon pancakes per my request. It was DELICIOUS! My husband ate all of the omeltte and two pieces of toast. I couldn't eat all of the pancakes but took the rest to go. We also ordered the beef and noodles with mashed potatoes to go to eat later tonight for dinner! Great Service, Nice Staff. The owner was there making sure things were going smoothly. Soccer regionals were held in Logansport and after a tough loss, we brought the girls to Bullshippers Cafe. The team has 22 players, 4 coaches, and potentially 22 families. The restaurant is cash only but the owner was willing to make an exception for us. They welcomed us with open arms, and we were given wonderful service. Every waitress was positive and kept drinks full. Our food came out as it finished but in a timely manner for so many people. The owner spent time talking and joking with the girls. Absolutely no orders were wrong and everyone loved their food. And to top it all off, the owner ended up footing the bill for the ENTIRE team. Absolutely incredible hospitality from a small town restaurant that easily could've been annoyed to have such a huge group come in. Not to mention, the chili was perfect-not too spicy but so flavorful. We will definitely be back. read more

I go here almost every time I visit my hometown. Its really inexpensive and a great way to meet locals! People just sit wherever and join up with other diners. I am SO GLAD they no longer allow smoking in either room. Indiana state law finally caught up with the times. Get the breakfast special which changes daily. Its $4! I shocked the locals on Yelp like this place . I did not . The wait staff are pleasant but distracted. Coffee is weak but not bad . Hash browns while cooked are certainly NOT brown . Eggs undercooked (white raw) my husband a native Hoosier liked the sausage gravy but to me it looked like it only waved at the sausage and didn't actually meet it . My husband would eat here every Friday night for the all you can eat fish fry, if I would let him. Homemade salads and sides to go with the home fries or baked potatoes are delicious. Platters of perfectly fried crispy white fish wandering through the dining room for your pleasure all evening long. This is a comfortable and casual diner-style restaurant with good and attentive service. It's located on the outskirts of town next to the stockyards, hence the name. I recommend the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich which is large and excellent - perfectly cooked. I would return again and again just for this sandwich. From the looks of other diners' meals plus my own experience, I think you could extrapolate excellent fare all around. read more
