Phil did a good job of suggesting the right door for us and even laid out a cost analysis of why we didn't need one with a higher R-value. Jose did a great job changing out the jambs. Guy who came to install the doors also did a great job and explained how to program/use everything. My only complaint is that Phil gets easily distracted and leaves out pertinent information about additional costs (for finishing the jambs) or preparations (clearing out enough space in the garage for installation). I feel like the process would be more cohesive and run smoothly if Phil did a better job relaying information between all the different people working to get the product to the consumer.

From the original call to the office, talking to the person answering phones, to whatever technician they sent out, the experience has always been friendly, efficient, and effective. There is no "sales pitch," no pressure, just friendly explanation and professionalism. John was knowledgeable about the cost of parts needed to complete the job, and even tried lubrication on one of the garage door prior to replacing parts. In other words, he was trying to save me money if at all possible. Overall, the experiences consistently excellent, and their prices are reasonable. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Precision Garage Door and technician Charlie B…read more Charlie came to look at my garage door and told me that it was not fixable and that my only option was to purchase a brand-new garage door for approximately $3,500. After telling me the door absolutely could not be repaired, he said I have two options - either he leaves, or I can order a $3500 garage door. After several times of proposing different ideas and him telling me no that is not possible, I proceed to order a new door. He then dismantled the existing system. He said that was the Only way he could get my garage door to come down. He cut and removed the cables and pulley system, removed the springs and other hardware, and took all of those parts with him when he left. Thankfully, before spending $3,500 on a new door, I decided to get a second opinion. The following day, another garage door company came to my home. Within about two minutes of looking at the door, the technician told me that the door was absolutely repairable and immediately asked me, "Where are all your parts?" I explained that the Precision technician had cut and removed the cables and pulley system, removed the springs and other hardware, and took everything with him. Because those parts were gone, I had to spend over $1,000 to replace the components Precision had removed in order for the second company to repair my door. Once those parts were replaced, my existing garage door was successfully functioning. I did not need a new $3,500 garage door, I had other options - Nothing else was needed to fix it. I then contacted Precision Garage Door to explain what had happened and give them an opportunity to address the situation. I was told that it was unfortunate that their technician did not provide me with alternative options for repairing my garage door, but that there was nothing they could do for me. I also asked about getting back the parts their technician had removed and taken from my home. I was told they could not return them because the technician had more than likely already thrown them in the garbage. This is what I find most upsetting. I was told my garage door was not repairable and that my only option was a $3,500 replacement. The technician then cut and removed components from my existing garage door system and took them with him. The very next day, another professional determined that the door was repairable, but I had to spend approximately $1,000 replacing the parts that had been taken before he could repair it. I gave Precision Garage Door the opportunity to address the situation after the fact, and their response was essentially that it was unfortunate but there was nothing they could do. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to a complete garage door replacement and before allowing any existing parts or hardware to be removed from your property. This company is unprofessional and takes advantage of the consumer.

I had a very disappointing experience with Goldi. My contract and invoice clearly show that my…read moregarage door system is under an active warranty, yet Goldi insisted I had no warranty and refused to provide the service that should have been covered. What made this even worse is that no diagnostic was performed at all. The technician didn't attempt to identify why my garage door was malfunctioning. Instead, I was immediately offered a paid repair -- with no confirmation that the fix would actually solve the problem. My new $800 garage door system randomly fails to open, or it opens and closes on its own. These are serious issues, and Goldi made no effort to determine the cause. Ignoring the warranty and skipping a proper diagnostic is unacceptable. Based on my experience, Goldi does not honor its agreements and does not provide the level of service customers should expect. ---
