It's taken me a while to write this review, I've been trying to properly digest my thoughts on Belfast newbie, Bullitt! I visited on a Monday at 10am and at first I was confused about which way to go in. I entered through Baltic, on Ann Street. I sort of walked in slowly to see if that was the place to get a coffee or not. A smartly dressed member of staff then approached me and ushered me in to the dining/relaxing area. As soon as I walked in I was impressed. The room was bright and modern with plenty of seating. As I entered there was a business man getting a shoe shine in the dedicated chair - this was a pretty cool touch. The place was busy, there seemed to be a mix of business people having meetings and hotel guests reading the morning papers and enjoying coffees. I was also having a meeting in Bullitt so I grabbed a coffee and waited for my guest. I had a flat white which was great and at £2.70 wasn't the most expensive coffee I've ever bought. The surroundings are great and I felt completely at ease in Bullitt. They've really got the details right here. Everything from the bar sign to the bill is completely consistent in terms of brand. I ended up spending about three hours here working away and I never once felt like I had to leave. Open from 7am it serves as a great breakfast meeting location. I'm excited to go back for a meal and a beer - in terms of accomidation this is exactly what Belfast has needed!

I visited Belfast's freshest new hotel early on Saturday evening with a few friends for a drink. On entering there was quite a buzz in the courtyard with lots of eager customers wanting to try out the quirky new amenities. The courtyard has lovely heaters and what will be an infamous sculpture made of old wooden barrells. Bullitt is modern with a very open plan layout. The ground floor seems to be the hub for everything with an outdoor courtyard and bar, a indoor bar situated around the reception, an espresso bar, a restaurant and the ski bar aptly named 'Baltic.' The decor is minimal and quite dark but spacious and comfortable. To drink I chose a Camile Collins which was vodka based mixed with apple and pear flavours. At £7.95 my expectations were high but unfortunately I found the flavours quite poor and have definitely had better cocktails elsewhere. In addition the barman serving our side of the bar appeared to be on another planet and despite growing queues at the bar strolled around slowly and extremely uninterested. He really didn't give a good impression and seemed as if he hates his job already after the place only being officially open for a day! We waited 40 minutes for our drinks! There were huge crowds in the lobby area and congregating around the reception area which seemed pretty daunting for anyone trying to battle their way through with cases and bags to check in. I'm sure if you had just travelled a long distance to Belfast and felt pretty jetlagged this would be the last thing you'd want to experience. I didn't get a chance to try any of their food but will no doubt return to do so. If returning for drinks I'll make sure to stay clear of the barman I encountered on this visit. The other staff appeared much more tuned in and efficient. This is definitely going to be the in place for the foreseeable future and is a nice starting point for a night out due to its location.

    First Impression = Excited!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here at Bullitt. The staff here is so courteous and helpful. They made us feel so welcome. We opted for the Dinky Room since we planned to be out and about for most days. Even though this room type is small, it has so many amenities - a hot pot with 2 mugs, 2 spoons, and an assortment of coffee and tea. There's a mini-fridge with milk if you wanted it (we're vegan/pescatarian), so we didn't use it. The bed is of high quality - super comfortable. We slept longer than we probably should have, but we were sleeping so well. Breakfast was hand-delivered every morning. In our room were 2 paper bags. We selected the time we wanted our breakfast and hung them outside our door. We woke up the next morning to find our breakfasts delivered (a banana, yogurt/granola, and OJ). There are 3 bars here and 1 restaurant. Bullitt is also located in the middle of everything fun that is within walking distance. There are so many great bars and restaurants around. The shopping center is just south within minutes of walking. We highly recommend staying here if you're going to be in Belfast for a few days!

We came here in great anticipation after hearing lots of views on the place. My first reaction was disappointing. It's very dark throughout, there is no flow to the place and it's not very well laid out and sign posted i.e. It's difficult to tell exactly which part you are in. The staff are amazing and the food menu is average . The big draw back is that the whole place is so dark one can't appreciate the art and sculpture and decor. The main entrance is tucked away on a side street and I feel that the design of the place lets it down. Ps the drinks were expensive!! I really did expect more from the place.

Fantastic dinner at Taylor & Clay Grille. The pork was fantastic. Very moist. The gumbo was good. Sav Blanc was good too. Great service too!

There is a gated parking lot. The hotel is located to many different restaurants, and it's also a quick walk to the city center. The shower drain was very slow. Even after putting in a request, it wasn't fixed during the duration of our stay. I requested extra blankets & pillows. It took the staff much too long to deliver the items. I had to go down to the front desk to request the items again. The rooms were clean & the bed was considerable. Overall, the stay was pleasant. However, the staffing needs to be held more accountable.

Cheap and cheerful Pros: The room was clean and smelled of fresh laundry. The carpark construction has finished and there was enough space to park quickly and securely and HIE is one of the very few hotels in the city that has a private carpark. The shower was clean and worked well Friendly staff all the way, I asked for a spare duvet and it was delivered swiftly, even though it was late in the evening, same with towels etc... Some food is available 24/7 Cons: The double bed was a joke. There is no way for two adults to get a comfortable sleep on such a tiny bed, I had to use the pull-out sofa so at least one of us would get some sleep. We're no giants either. Definitely a big minus and a reason I will not be coming back, unless I'm on my own. The soap in the bathroom is fixed to the wall and very cumbersome to use, the same one in the shower has been empty on arrival and for the last two days, housekeeping staff have been in and out on both days... There is no wardrobe or drawers in the whole room, not even the bedside tables have drawers, all your stuff is therefore either out in the open or stays in the luggage. On the fence: The breakfast was ok, but the apple juice was diluted to a point it should be called a drink not juice. The eggs have absolutely zero taste... No vegetable (not even a fried tomato) just beans and mushrooms... I appreciate that it was included, but again, you get what you pay for and this one is nothing to write home about, but does the job. Verdict: if you can get a good rate, it's a good choice. It is what it is...a cheap hotel with modern facilities with everything "just enough". If you're just passing through the city on business or traveling on a budget and if the rate is low, good choice. If you're going for a weekend away with a loved one, pay a bit more and enjoy a bit of luxury, you're not going to find it here. And again... The bed sucks!

But it was such a small room the beds were too close together and we had to walk sideways in between the beds. There was no dresser so we had to live out of a suitcase on the floor for a week. The room overall appeared clean except for the phone cord had a thick layer of dust in between the loops. (You could clearly see it.) The bathroom. The walk in shower was nice with a rain shower and separate handheld. The water temperature was super hot. Way too hot and room would fog up. Because the shower is open to the door, the door had major water damage and was swollen and couldn't be closed all the way. The door jam was also had water damage. Aesthetically unappealing. The restaurant was very nice and the food was good. The staff were super nice about food orders. Enjoyed the meals. Some of the staff (front desk, restaurant and housekeeping) were very nice and others not as much. But overall the nice staff outweighed the not as nice staff. Location is close to City Hall and Donegall Square which is what I wanted. And it was centrally located within walking distance to a lot in the area.

I was born in Belfast and have never been back (I grew up in America). I was greeted with such warmth and friendliness by the staff here. My room was very trendy looking and comfortable. There is an umbrella in the room, which I ended up using because it was raining outside. The downstairs bar and eatery was amazing as well. I enjoyed the food and drinks. I took full advantage of the delicious room service for breakfast. I want to bring my husband here when I return to Belfast! Exceptional experience.

The building is located near a small cluster of pubs, restaurants and fast food outlets. Check in was not the best... After driving for several hours to Belfast and arriving late-ish and hungry the gentleman manning the reception didn't greet us with a smile and chose to take an incoming phone call prior to giving us our keycard. Understandable that at that time the reception is only manned by one person but placing the caller on hold for a few moments to see us sorted wouldn't hurt. Being the first impression for the property its ultimately important (and hardly expensive) for the receptionist to smile for guests. I did however manage to get half a smile out the man the next morning. The common areas of the hotel appeared to be more recently updated than the rooms and corridors, however many furnishings were worn. The corridor could do with a lick of paint and renewed carpet as the existing fittings are well worn/marked. Room furnishings were a bit plain and not like those advertised on the website. Beds were comfortable. No air conditioning (in our room anyway) - not a problem in December but consider this if you are staying over summer. The bathroom was fine, with a good strong shower. The water saving tap on the sink was a bit ridiculous as you need to run the tap for about a minute for the water to get warm. Breakfast included the usual hot options of full Irish with cereal, yoghurt, fruits and breads. Tea and brewed coffee supplied to the table by friendly staff. Overall an OK stay, the property could do well to make some updates to furnishings, and perhaps some extra training for one of the reception staff. Parking is 5 quid overnight which is a bit much considering street parking is available all around - however we were given free parking validation on checkout which was a nice gesture. Free WiFi is also available and was accessible from the rooms as well as the common areas, with the occasional drop out. I've stayed in much better 4-star hotels elsewhere so the money I would probably try somewhere else next time to Belfast.

It's a lot bigger inside than you realise, with various function rooms and an expansive lounge and bar/restaurant area, serving those staying in the hotel, and business folks and travellers passing through. The reception staff were very helpful, and the function I attended was well sign-posted and easy to find - there was a constant supply of tea and coffee, pastries and muffins, as well as orange juice and water. The food we had was lovely too, piping hot and tasty, and we were given a full three courses for lunch - unusual for an event like that, I thought. All in all, the hotel is pleasant and inviting and seems well run and professional. I can't speak for the hotel rooms, but the main areas of the hotel were all clean and well-maintained. There is plenty of parking for patrons also.
