The staff in Daft Eddies are always welcoming and chatty and nothing is too much trouble. The outdoor seating is great for taking in the beautiful view of the loch around the island, a view which can also be taken in from inside due to the big wrap around windows on the upper level making it one of the nicest bar/restaurants to sit in.

Me and GF stopped here on way back from the coast, restaurant is upstairs..and by the time you climb to the top its too late!!!!!!!!!!! SHE is waiting there...fangs and all. I mean this is the waitress from hell guys, she took an instant dislike to me...I think it was the whole 'table for 2 please' that put her off, how dare we disturb her Sunday evening of doing nothing. Look lets dispense with the food, it was nice...I got Hake goujons, with Hoi Sin sauce only non came, rotweiller snarled at me 'you want tartare??' I meekly said yes please and none came....I was too scared to ask again...GF had curry which looked (and smelled) great the chef is probably shit scared of the Rotweiller too so he dishes out good grub in case SHE is asked to return it. Decor out of a 1980s sit com, tired and dated...but the most off putting was the view of loyalist flags hanging out every window..I mean come on guys get that crap down its way past July. Staff seemed quite knowledgeable in terms of such food too. Interior is drab, dark and dated in the downstairs dining space, but the food more than made up for this as it was delicious. I had a main of Tuscan Potatoes with sautéed green leafy veg and mushrooms. Very good experience overall and great to have a range of vegan dishes to choose from.

The food was nice, presented well and in large portions. My only niggle is that we came with far higher expectations than we were offered. The food was fine, but for the price I expected more and it could be tastier. I didn't feel the atmosphere was great, but then again we were seated in an enclosed corner. This was good for a change and everyone had a nice time, but not for you if you're looking for that little bit extra.

The staff are friendly and helpful and their is always someone there to help if you need anything at all. The bar and club that are attached are both very good. The club on a Saturday was full of a wide range of people. It is hen and stag friendly with DJ Danny Dee playing some old school dance with plenty of drinks offers available. Apparently there was a wedding that no one bothered to tell me about when making reservations. Obnoxiously loud music played well past midnight making sleep essentially impossible. I tossed and turned on the lumpy mattress wishing that I didn't have to hear "Country Roads" played so badly that John Denver was turning in his grave. Although there was no bath mat of any kind for the slippery shower room floor, there was a little black curly hair waiting to greet me in the tub, and the tile looked like it needed a thorough deep clean. There were no outlets anywhere near the bed making it difficult to charge my phone. To finish things off, the door did not meet the threshold and the resulting gap let in light and the sounds of drunken guests wandering the hallway. All in all, it was a complete letdown.
