I've been coming here since Bullig first opened, over the past few years I've had the privilege of seeing them grow and become loved by many. Bullig has easily become a pillar of the SWFL community and I really admire their commitment to serving such high quality food with fresh ingredients that are so delicious. Their menu offerings are a bit more out of the box compared to most and that's what makes them so special. The service has always been friendly and thoughtful. I think the way they take their time to prepare things shows how much they truly care about each customer experience. Also the overall ambiance is comforting and something I look forward to experiencing anytime I'm close by. Highly recommend Bullig today and always! read more

I have been going here for 5 years and it truly is a gem in the fort myers area. I'll even include a picture of my first review of bullig to show you that the quality has never declined and they truly just get better. They don't come to the table and take your order- you seat yourself and order and the kiosk and they bring your food to you. Usually takes 25-30 mins for food. Which is totally fine by me, & so worth the wait! Try the bee-itch or the bullig for savory, & the gimme s'more or the seriously waffle for sweet. For coffees, the tinder date and the Herschel are my go to! read more

Let's start with the good - dog friendly location with a nice patio. The food is REALLY good. It's almost all waffles, but the waffles are really good and so many of the sauces are homemade. We had both sweet (nutella and fruit) and savory (melted pimento cheese with bacon, pickled onions, and green aioli). The melted pimento waffle was outstanding. The iced latte was good and the homemade vanilla was tasty. Also had one of their sparkling water drinks. The not so good - we've seen warnings that they need time because everything is made to order. That's fine, and in fact we prefer it that way. BUT, the place isn't that big and 50 minutes from ordering to service is a long time. It only takes baking the waffle and adding a few toppings... Go when you haven't seen someone in a long time and want to have an extended conversation. They ask for 20 percent tipping. We always tip really well and don't have a problem with that. But you order and pay at the counter and someone just brings out the food. Tables are not checked on at all and so many tables sat for extended time before they were serviced after diners left. We'll go back because the food was really good, but know you need to have lots of time because you pay up front and it's going to be a long while for your food. read more

Amazing breakfast spot if you love waffles located in Fort Myers area. parking can be found easily. The place is very welcoming and clean. Order at the front inside and you can choose to sit inside or outside in the patio area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Price is reasonable. Food: I ordered the Bullig and it's extremely tasteful and savory. Very filling as well. Consist of bacon, cheese that is layered with Fresh Cut Tomato, Avocado, Maple Dressed Greens, & a Poached egg (I got over medium). It's perfectly paired with the aioli sauce which is exquisitely delicious. I absolutely recommend this dish to anyone in the area. - The Original Gangsta "OG". Oh my sweetness! Now if you have more of a sweet tooth, this is for you! This waffle consist of Nutella paired with fresh strawberries, sliced almonds and chocolate chips. They serve this waffle with a side of Oma's original recipe chocolate sauce. read more

I have been coming to Bullig countless times over the last several years. The food and coffee selection has always been interesting and executed superbly. The spot is cute and charming, always clean, and the staff is friendly. I'm writing this review in hopes that the owners see it as constructive criticism. I went last weekend and noticed the menu had changed, which wasn't a problem since most of my favorites were still there, even if in a different form. The issue was that the execution was not what I expected. Drinks were served differently and felt smaller, and some of the food seemed to have been changed in a way that made it feel more highbrow, but not necessarily better. Out of the six meals we ordered that day, all of them contained burnt waffles, which had never happened on any of our previous visits. All in all the food had lacked its luster. I understand that everyone has bad days, and because of that we will go back one more time to see if this is the new norm. If it is, then I would no longer recommend Bullig. If not, then maybe we simply caught them on a rare bad day after a menu revamp. Either way, I'm not nostalgic for the past, but in food, I do wonder: if something isn't broken, why change it? read more

Delicious waffles and lattes!! If you're in the area and need a good waffle fix this is the place to go! The ambiance is so cute inside and they have a nice outdoor patio area with shaded and non shaded options. We loved all the waffle details in the indoor decor. Order at the counter and then the staff will bring your food to your table. It looks like the neighboring buildings are under construction but they are open. We were sad to see the butterfly building next door is no longer there. Don't let that deter you from popping in bullig they are worth the visit! Cheers! read more

Super expensive for less than mediocre food. Cost $90 for two people to get a coffee and entree. Wouldn't mind if it was actually super good food but it was average at best. read more

My return to Bullig was just as delicious as my first visit. I tried one of their seasonal lattes, Fred. It's a gingerbread latte topped with a mini lebkuchen star and festive sprinkles. It has a nice subtle gingerbread flavor. I opted to try a different waffle this time. I ordered the "Seriously?" I may have found a favorite! It's Nutella with homemade raspberry jam, fresh raspberries, and melted Brie sandwiched between their original waffle. It comes with a side of homemade raspberry compote. The Brie adds a nice balance to the sweet. There is a sign by the registers informing guests of wait times for food; 5 minutes for drinks and 30-45 minutes for food. I felt like the service was fast today, but I did get here an hour after opening. They tuned their Up corner into a beautiful Christmas set up at grandma and grandpas. read more

When we walked in we were greeted with smiles and confidence on the quality of ingredients. I seldom feel this way trying a new place. A very friendly lady took us to a table (you can sit inside or out) and asked if we had been there before. I said neither of us have been here and she immediately helped us work our way through the menu...the espresso, homemade tea drinks, and the waffle menu. The waffle menu is available both sweet or savory...and can I tell you that no matter what you order off their menu you will be pleased! The waffles are the star of the show. Soft crunchy outside and tender inside. If you are in the area we recommend highly! read more

What a cute lil cafe! I came across this place when I was downtown and needed to wait on my ride and I was hungry. Being GF, I looked up any nearby gluten friendly spots and Bullig popped up. I was so super satisfied! They have a menu of waffle-wiches, all of which can be served with a GF waffle. I had a plain GF waffle with bacon(Tails-a-waggin) and a side of poached eggs on greens. All was absolutely delicious!! I finished everything and was extremely satisfied. I dined without my husband this time, but I will definitely be back with him to try something else on the menu. read more

Super cute and charming brunch place in downtown Ft. Myers. We walked in a little after 11am on a Saturday and I wasn't sure what to expect as far as wait/ availability. To my surprise, we were able to get a table right away. They have a QR code on the table that you scan for the menu and you go up to the counter to order. The server brings you your drink and food. The menu consists of waffles with different toppings. A few savory options and plenty of sweet options. I believe I saw one salad/ bowl on the menu and different sides available. The drink menu is also pretty extensive. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is perfect if you have a pup! Would def recommend! read more

Ate here after a morning beach walk. Thanks to our doctor who recommended Bullig, we gave this place a try. Cute, clean, comfortable, friendly and interesting decor. The food was scrumptious and the coffee hot and delicious. A waffles comes with most entrees which was delicious, crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. A bit of a challenge to find this place but no problem with GPS, downtown Fort Myers. We will be dining here again to try other items. read more

I knew once I saw the menu here, that we'd need to stop and check it out before leaving the Ft Myers area. We were once of the first people in the door at 9am on a Sunday morning. The restaurant quickly filled up after our arrival. Clearly, locals and tourists alike must know about the great food at Bullig. The inside is very warm and inviting, from the nostalgic decorations tying things back to the owner's grandmother, to the rustic beams, wooden tables, and leather seats. The staff were all friendly and we received our order quickly. The chai-based Dirty Bee's were incredible. For anyone who likes a good dirty chai, try their variation with Florida honey - it rocks. The sandwiches were delicious too. Although the waffles were a tad sweeter than I thought they'd be, pairing them with savory stuffing of eggs, pickled onions, etc made for a very pleasant match. I hope we end back in the area sometime. I'd really like to try some of the other menu items, including the sweet and decadent looking options. read more

I used to come here all the time for the food and service! For some reason this morning was different.. the staff came up to us asking if we've ever been here then proceeded to say I'll give you a moment and walked away , then came back up and asked us if we were ready to order food before we even ordered drinks.. then our drinks finally came out after about 15 minutes.. we ordered food, and after that no one came to check on us for another hour and 15 mins.. I had to grab a food runners attention to ask if our food was coming anytime soon because people who got there after us had there food and were leaving before we even got ours.. they continued to tell us it would be another 10-15 mins at the most, we didn't wanna walk out so stayed the EXTRA 20 mins just to get our food.. i will never be coming back with this experience I've had today im appalled. read more

Service is great, outside seating is dog friendly with a mix of covered/shaded seats or full sun. It's not full table service as you do order inside, but the servers were all friendly and patient with questions and the food is good. The dogs enjoyed the pup cups that came out with pb, bananas, and bacon. read more

this place is just. Wow. This has to be the best food ive ever had in my life, the waffles felt like eating clouds and the drinks were spectacular. You can tell how much love and hard work was put into these recipes. The customer service was spectacular and everyone was extremely nice and rushed to help us with anything we needed and even had a nice conversation with us. The place is very homey and the ambiance is on spot with the cafe's vibe. I wouldnt spend my money anywhere else and really enjoyed my stay at bullig. Also, I saw a review saying they had rude service from a server named Mel. We had Mel and she was amazing. Truly the kindest person and seemed very happy. I loved the backstory of the cafe, and the way everything was dedicated to the owners grandma. Extremely disappointed. If i could give 0 for customer service today i would. I come here all the time. One of my favorite places. I came to celebrate my birthday for breakfast with my boyfriend, it took 30 minutes to get a water. after waiting over an hour for our food after watching multiple tables that came after us already received theirs and finished their meal i asked them how long for ours and they said it hasn't even gotten put in yet. I told them just cancel the order then they still wanted me to pay for my coffee that was made wrong (missing fresh raspberries and the marshmallows). After receiving the coffee 45 minutes went by we never even got checked on. Water cups were empty and i couldn't even tell them my drink was wrong. Stevies customer service was just full of excuses after admitting she put other people's orders in before us by accident just shrugged her shoulders and basically said it is what it is. Like i said so disappointing. read more

We are in town visiting family. When we decided to visit the butterfly gardens today. We were told by the family that the waffle Cafe that is attached to the butterfly garden was delicious. At first glance this place looks cute quaint full of promise. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and extremely friendly. After that it goes down hill. We ordered our 3 waffles . 45 minutes later my daughter's waffle arrives. We wait another 10 minutes for my husband waffle and another 5 minutes for my waffles. Ridiculous with such a small restaurant that we all can't get our food on time. Now that food was great. Was it worth waiting a hour for. I don't thinks. We go to pay and it was $70 for 3 waffles and coffee. I was outraged! Then I learned that they tack on 20% onto the bill. Unacceptable for mediocre food and terrible 45+minutes service. They think a few things especially for out-of-towners. Would I recommend this Cafe no! read more

Five stars for the food and creativity. Quaint little place in downtown Fort Myers. Parking is around back. Don't open until 10:00 (which is a bit strange for a primarily breakfast and coffee restaurant). It's all about the Waffles, savory or sweet. Really liked this place, service was good, you place order and pay when you go in and they bring the food to you as ready (there is a sign on the counter telling you the ETA on food and drinks, ours was 35 min on food and it was about 20 min). Few notes of interest: it's expensive (but worth it) there is a 19% service charge that states clearly it's not a tip, just added to the bill, because? And, no refills on coffee, for $4.25 for a cup of regular coffee, a refill would have been nice. Having said all this, it's a nice treat for brunch, good food, nice environment. read more

Sabrina Schoellchen left Germany and her catering job of more than two decades to open Bullig, a coffee shop and restaurant in downtown Fort Myers. Bullig Coffee & Bites, is dedicated to Schoellchen's French bulldog, Gilly. The German word bullig translates to English as beefy. The coffee shop is on Fowler Street in downtown Fort Myers in the location of the former Gathering Place at The Butterfly Estates. A quote from Bullig on their Face book page says "At Bullig, we strive to fuel the goal of making each day count by mixing our love of family, the aroma of good coffee, and tasty bites to satisfy any hunger." No one is allowed inside the dining room right now. You order outside and there is seating on the porch. They hope to reopen the dinning room in time for their anniversary on June 22nd. The outside seating is dog friendly so bring your best four legged buddy. Their menu looked great with waffles, bites, and fancy coffee drinks. Unfortunately I arrived too late to try the delicious sounding food but they kindly offered to make me a coffee drink even though it was past closing. I ordered an iced Ezra, latte pimped with mom's caramel sauce ($4.95). It was heaven in a cup. Just perfect. Now I really want to come back and try the menu. Don't come over late in the day like I did. They close at 3 and there is a lot to do here. Grab some food and coffee and check out the butterfly aviary, cute garden store, and DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts. Thanks Rachel M. I forgot to take a photo of my food. I got the: Okay Dad Here it is. It is basically an eggs Benedict on a waffle. It was very good. They do not have drip coffee, so I got an Americana. Be aware that they add 19% to your bill as gratuity for all of the staff that isn't a waiter and they expect you to add another tip for the waiters. Not a big deal but it did catch me off guard and I think it would be better if they just had that already added into the cost of food so it is less of a sticker shock. read more

Lovely outdoor shaded porch setting with well-spaced tables for dining during COVID restrictions. Hand sanitizer at outdoor table. Restrooms inside by request. Tasty iced coffee drinks with a variety of options. Savory and Sweet additions to their signature Oma's Waffle (a sweet batter). Loved the chicken salad- a nice pairing for the sweet waffle. Also appreciate the wood utensils, green ware plant plastics, and bamboo straws. Easy to grab a table at 10:15am on a weekday- sounds like it gets a bit busy on the weekends and may require a wait, but the Plant Shop, Co-Op Gallery, and Butterfly Estate are all lovely things to wander and make this more of a mini-destination for a late morning or afternoon visit. read more

Pros: Dog friendly on the patio. Beautiful ambiance amongst the trees and flowers. Great coffee drinks. Unique take on waffles. Cons: Confusing menu ordering process if you're not tech savvy (they do have paper menus). The homemade peanut butter is creamy, but is way too much on their dishes which overtakes the flavor of the dish itself. Confusing surcharges on everything you buy. No way to have an open tab unless you order everything at once. Can get very crowded on weekends with long wait times; I'd suggest coming as soon as they open to secure a table. read more
