Master Pools of Wilmington

Master Pools of Wilmington

I've paid them over 26,000.00 but they have made a lien claim for over 28,000.00 more. Master Pools of Wilmington is really Greenville Pool & Supply Company with Frederick Keith Bishton, Carol Bishton, Frederick Todd Bishton. They never completed my pool. The last day they did any work was Aug. 6, 2018 and I am writing this on Dec. 28, 2018. The law requires they make a lien claim within 120 days of last work, so they lied and claimed last work was 120 days ago. After repeated requests in August, September, and October that they complete the work and train me to use the equipment they did nothing. So, I had to hire three companies to complete the work they were supposed to complete. a. Another pool company was hired to complete equipment installation and train me in its use. They purchased and installed parts not yet installed by these people. The new company completed installation of the pumping system, the filter system, and repaired the heating system. None of these systems worked properly until the new company completed the work. b. An electrician was hired to repair damage to my home's electrical system and a hot tub damaged by Master Pool's electrician. Circuits were rewired for the home and pool. The electrician advised the hot tub was a total loss. Its value was about 10,000.00. c. Another company was hired to repair and restore other areas damaged by Master Pools. Master Pools failed to meet the many promised completion dates they offered. The original agreement with Ramsey Quinn (their representative who negotiated the agreement) was that the pool would be completed by the first of June. I purchased this house for the purpose of renting it. It is ocean front so during the 10 prime summer weeks it would rent for 7,000.00 per week. Since they never completed the pool, I lost 70,000.00 in rental income. I repeatedly complained about this and was told by Todd Bishton that their commercial contracts came first, and they would only work on mine when they were not working on a commercial contract. This was a violation of their contract with me. Their work was defective in two areas. After repeated requests they claimed to have corrected the defects but an inspection by an expert showed their corrections were not appropriate. Master Pools uses undocumented workers they can hire at substandard wages. While working on my property I observed two major risks to life and limb of their workers that would be categorized by OSHA as willful and egregious. Workers were within an unprotected excavation 10 feet deep with the sides showing signs of collapse. At the same time I witnessed and photographed a back hoe bucket swing back and forth 3 inches over the workers' heads multiple times. I complained to Tod Bishton regarding the danger to his employees and he responded with a laugh saying "If one of them dies I'll just cover up their body on the hole". I told I would allow such despicable lack of respect for human life on my property and that I would report him to OSHA. He again laughed. Master Pools' employees entered my resident multiple times without authorization which is breaking and entering in NC. Tools and other items were stolen. Master Pools' employees often left their work and went on the beach upsetting beach goers with improper comments and actions. At one point they were in a fight on the beach that involved over 10 people. I had to call the police. Master Pools did extensive damage to my neighbor's home while pumping concrete to my pool. I repeatedly requested Todd Bishton repair the damage, but it was weeks before he did anything and then my neighbor was not satisfied. My neighbor held me responsible for the damage. Master Pools caused the town of Carolina Beach to threaten action against me. They left a large mixing container filled with hardened concrete in a small town parking lot, blocking parking spaces. The town held me responsible as I repeatedly asked Todd Bishton to remedy the situation. It was weeks before he did. When the pool was dug but not yet walled with concrete, Todd Bishton attempted to extort money from me by saying he would do no further work on the pool unless I paid him in full as if the pool had been completed. I pointed out that I had made every payment on time as agreed to in our contract, but he said he would do no further work. When I told him I would hire another company to complete the work he relented and performed some more work but never completed the project. Now they are attempting a lien claim to force me to pay for the work that was not done. This company's treatment of me and others was so bad that Ramsey Quinn, who originally negotiated my contract, resigned from the company saying he could not participate in such improper activities any longer.

The team at MJ is so sweet, knowledgeable, easily reachable (for my millions of questions), and quick. This is the first time in a long time that I've hired someone to do something and it was truly an enjoyable process where I felt like they really wanted to make me happy (vs just do the bare minimum to get done as quick as possible). I am soooo happy with the results, it looks way better than I could have ever imagined. They also offer pool servicing and so far I have been so happy with that as well. If you are considering installing a pool or having your pool serviced, hire MJ Pools! You won't regret it.

They came out and told us what problem was and gave us a quote and we agreed to have them fix it. I gave them my credit card number. We came home a few days later and everything seemed fine. Three weeks later, I received a bill stating we need to pay 318.00 which was more than quoted. I paid it. The part they replaced is now not working. We have tried to contact them for over a week and we get no reply. My husband has left several messages and nothing. I emailed them yesterday and haven't received any reply, either. I hate having to write bad reviews about any business but we have made several attempts to get this issue addressed without any response from the business.
