We stopped in for a late 8:30 Saturday night dinner. We were welcomed politely and asked to be…read moreseated. The restaurant was very clean and homey. Seemed to be this town's place for family and friends to gather for dinner. What a lovely atmosphere. We had a young waiter eager to serve us. He shared the specials and tempted us with the sirloin and shrimp special. We each chose an appetizer.... To give them a shot. The catfish fingers were soo yummy, the fried mushrooms missed the mark just slightly.... The smaller ones were cooked through, the larger ones were not. ( totally understandable some were much larger than the others) The steaks were cooked to perfection! Just the way we asked! The shrimp were mouth watering! My baked loaded baked potato was so good. My dinner companion's sweet potato fries hit the spot! Did I mention the amazing side salad and veggies too. IT was more than we would eat. So we honestly had to get a take home box. Cause our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. He asked if we wanted dessert but honestly we were so full. But there will be a next time. We will be back and we will tell our friends and family to stop in.

Filet steak is amazing. The ribs are good too. On the lighter side, the club sandwich and potato…read morecheese soup for lunch on Wednesdays are a solid choice.

Southern Star Grill - They called it Chewy Bread. Said it was kind of like a Blonde Brownie. It was chewy. It was caramel sweet. And it was GOOD!

I am genuinely impressed. Outstanding food and service!…read more Road can be hard to miss if you're not using GPS or unfamiliar with the area. It's a place tucked away off a dirt road. Immediately were acknowledged on arrival from a friendly gentleman leaving. He just struck up a conversation with my husband like a true southerner. The decor inside is a conversation piece in off itself. It's a simple place but packs a memory on your taste buds. I think it's because they actually serve fresh food. There's a salad bar that takes up an entire room. It puts Ruby Tuesday to shame. The lettuce is crisp, the vegetables are fresh and the ranch must be homemade as it packed flavor. Steaks are market price. We ordered the fried fish and pork chop. My pork chop was glistening and moist. When I was sticking my fork in it, you could see the moisture in the meat. And tender! The staff works together. Whoever fills your drink may not be who serves your food or checks in on you. I like it! Everyone is held to a standard of friendliness. It's so welcoming! And as it began to wind down at the end of the night, the servers even all ate dinner together, all while still caring for patrons. Bathrooms were spotless. And ADA accessible. There was even a kitty cat waiting outside for pettings. They've added a pool bar next to the restaurant along with giant Jenga, table tennis and cornhole. Will definitely be returning!

The staff is friendly and accommodating considering the crowd they serve. Beef selections are a bit pricey especially for hit and miss. My seafood special was very bland, hush puppies crumbly and no sweet potatoes (the best side). I do like the atmosphere. They also have live entertainment now.

This used to be Archibalds back in the day. Switched over about 15 years ago. We've seen this place…read moremany times but it was always packed. In town for FFW at GSU and saw rooftop patio looked empty so we swung on in. Not a ton of parking unless you park in lot adjacent to them. However, lots of seating options! Outdoor covered seating, rooftop covered seating and indoor. It was pretty packed down below but we grabbed 2 rooftop bar seats up top. From there, everything was perfect. Honestly, this place was the best I've eaten at EVER in the 'Boro. 5 stars on atmosphere, food, view and service. We opted for brunch menu but did the pretzel appetizer with beer cheese. The beer cheese was thicker than normal but good. I did the French toast burger with fried okra. Daaayum, tasted like a fluffy McGriddle but much larger! I could barely finish it. GET THE LEE'S SAUCE FOR DIPPING! It's like the Zax sauce but with more tang and kick. We accompanied our meal with a pitcher of electric lemonade (a Statesboro staple, going back to the days of Wild Wings & Dick's Dawg House). The entire experience was like "The Run" by AP (no, not the runs ).

The service at this place was excellent. Lots of variety on the menu with some interesting options…read more However, the food was nothing crazy, it was good but I have had better. Definitely probably one of the better restaurants in the area though. The Diet Coke was really good. The fried okra was not. Well priced for the food. The restaurant lives up to its name as there are a lot of gnats. Once the staff turned the fans on it was not as bad. My chicken parm sandwich was good, but probably wouldn't order it again and would stick with more classic options. Good casual place in the area though that does the trick for a good price.
