We were Greeted warmly as soon as we walked in at 12:30 during lunch. And ask for our drink request. We got unsweetened tea that was good.The dinning area was quiet with about 25 tables with folding chairs. The Monday we stopped in July they had a salad bar, fried chicken, green beans, black eyed peas, broccoli, mash potatoes, limas, bread and a few other dishes in the food bar. Great southern style buffet with lots of fresh veggies and meats. Fantastic chicken and dumplings on the day that I went. Also, some of the best rutabagas that I've ever eaten. Nice salad bar with plenty of options. Just make sure you save room for the dessert section. The large dining room is nice bright and cheerful. The staff are very friendly. We were passing through Adel during lunchtime and decided to give the Parrish House a try. When you enter through the front door, you are in the dining room. A friendly hostess told us to sit anywhere and to help ourselves to the buffet. The other diners consisted of blue and white collar workers, retired couples, and ladies who lunch. The buffet was compact but offered a varied selection of 5 or 6 main entrees, several vegetables, a complete salad bar, cornbread, and at least 4 different desserts. All of the selections I made were very good or delicious. I'm very picky about food and expect to be disappointed at new restaurants. I was not at all disappointed at Parrish House. A great Southern Cookin' buffet. A bit off of I-75 but worth the few minute drive. In an old house so very plain ambiance but who cares. Good veggies, good fried chicken. Great tea. We stopped at The Parrish House on our way from Atlanta to Jacksonville. We were looking for home cooked food with lots of vegetables and we hit the jackpot. The buffet had so many choices. The proprietors were very nice and helpful. We will keep this on our list of lunch places next time we are in South Georgia. read more

Umm yeah, this place is the bomb dot cum!!! I made my grandma cry this past weekend when I told her she'll never even come close to cooking as good as Ms. Parrish. If I'm being completely honest, I really didn't even care, because real recognize real and I will not back down from supporting top of the line cornbread. Out of the 4 desserts I tried, the bread pudding was and is the greatest in the history of the United States of America. I couldn't find the sign advertising home of the best bread pudding in the country, but I'm sure I just wasn't looking in the right place. I don't care about buffets, but I do care about people being nice to each other. This is a place where they're nice and the smiles are genuine. Can't wait to come back!!!!!!!!! Looking for Something new to try while traveling through the area. Based on reviews on Yelp decided to try the lunch buffet at the Parish House. Winner! Only open for lunch 11-2. For $11 per person includes a very fresh and tasty salad bar with a delicious fruit salad (husband's favorite), and a hot food bar with fried chicken, mac and cheese, meatloaf (a Tuesday special - just like what we make for family dinners), and an assortment of sides and southern vegetables. When you don't feel you can take another bite, head to the dessert bar for something sweet to finish your lunch. My choice was a very rich, moist chocolate brownie with marshmallow topping. There was also cookies, bread pudding, trifle, and other choices. The meal also includes iced tea. Still hungry ? Make a second trip! Very homey, comfortable atmosphere. Pleasant workers. Iced tea was filled before I knew I needed more and friendly waitress asked how everything was and if we needed anything. An assortment of patrons including families, workers on lunch hour, and seniors eating in groups or singles. Will have to plan our trip back through to be in Adel at lunchtime! read more

My husband and I try to frequent here just as much as we possibly can. The food is always amazing (I am mostly vegetarian, but will eat chicken - and am a bit obsessive about eating good-for-me things! Hubby likes more fried stuff and red meat - both of us 100% satisfied by the options available), the staff is so good, and the ambiance reminds you why the south is known for being hospitable and amazing.
