I visited this postal service location today with my two daughters to ship a business package. It had been about two years since my last visit, and I fondly remembered what made this place stand out: the owner's friendly Great Dane and another dog (whose breed I'm unsure of). They were such a delightful pair--the Great Dane was especially calm and welcoming for its size, adding a unique, joyful vibe to the experience. Excited for my daughters to encounter them like I had in the past, I asked upon entering, "Where are the puppies?" I was met with silence, followed by a sharp response: "We put them away for the day." I tried to keep things light by saying, "Okay, well, hi--how is everyone?" but received only a curt "We're good." I waited in line quietly until a young lady assisted us. My daughter, overhearing, asked about the puppies, and I explained there was usually a Great Dane and another dog. That's when a male employee interjected harshly: "I had to put the Great Dane down--you should be careful with what you promise." I was stunned, both by the rudeness and the sad news. The female owner then clarified that the dog had MS and could no longer walk, which explained the decision. I truly apologize for unintentionally reopening that wound; I had no idea, given the time since my last visit. A lot can change in two years, and I understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. That said, the tone and delivery were unnecessarily aggressive and off-putting. I simply wanted my daughters to share in the positive, dog-friendly experience that first drew me here for my business shipments. Unfortunately, the vibe now feels cold and unwelcoming--the energy is gone, and without that unique niche, there's little reason to return. Searched for a FedEx location on maps and upon driving to it, this was the location. I was unsure about it because the sign above just says Bx Mail, but on their door it says authorized FedEx location. This is located in the Food Lion plaza, to the right of it, so plenty of parking. Walking in there are mailboxes you can rent, and I was greeted right away by human and doggies! The service was very fast, I was the only one in there. I stopped in here on Friday, 11/29/19 because I had a package for my nieces that needed mailing, and this location was convenient because I had errands in the 40/42 area. I used to frequent this business often when the previous owners owned it. The reason for my one star review is because how I was treated. The older gentleman that was working greeted me warmly at first and then he asked me for my last name. I spelled it out for him because I have a very unique last name and it's just easier to spell it out for people. The man then asked me to pronounce it, which I did, and he said "what kind of last name is that"?! To which I replied "it's Czech". He gave me a funny look, then started typing my name into the computer. My information popped up, he pointed to the screen and said, "is this you"? I replied, "yep, that's me", and he proceeded to enter in the delivery address for the package. He stopped what he was doing and said, "so is your husband Czech or what", and I replied, "my Dad is Czech, this is my last name, I'm not married". Then he asked me, "are you an American"? Now, I'm starting to get very annoyed by all of these rude questions, and I said, "yes, I am an American...I'm not sure why this is something you need to know"... He replied, "well, were you born here, you're not from North Carolina", and I replied, "yes, I was born in Michigan". He then threw his hands up in the air and said "Ugh!!! That's where she's from (pointing to his coworker). Then he finally cashed me out and told me to have a nice day. I honestly don't know why I didn't grab my package and leave. I cannot believe how rudely I was treated!! The prices have drastically increased with the new ownership too. After experiencing such awkward and terrible customer service, Bulldog Express has lost my business, I will never be back. read more

I have been a regular customer of the former owners. They were so professional and they made sure everyone walked out feeling like their postal needs had been taken care of. I always had confidence that my package(s) we're going to make it to their destination. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the current owners. I feel that in general that the line takes longer, and it seems to take longer to complete my transactions once it's my turn. Also I feel the need to verify and double check info I give them when mailing a package because they don't usually confirm it with me and the computer monitor is turned in such a way that I can't glance at it and make sure the data they entered is accurate. Once I had to actually ask for the tracking number before I left the store. See, that crucial info wasn't offered to me at all. The professional look of the store is not so pleasing. Behind the counter I saw multiple bottles of cranberry juice, apple juice and even a prescription medication bottle all right there in plain sight. Not what you would expect to see at a place of business. I plan to return because they are convenient and so I can hopefully edit my review in a more positive light. read more

The lady working today on a Saturday was absolutely the epitome of "customer service". Phenomenal service and soooo nice. She had to notarize stuff, deal with painful customers before me and she was such a sweet lady. I will be back for everything shipping. I have been going to Bulldog Express for some time now and although I do not give them any high dollar business, they always treat me like I am their biggest customer. They take the time to find the lowest shipping rates for me and they are always very friendly and polite. It is generally a much shorter wait than the post office and they offer all the major shipping companies.
