Absolutely terrible customer service. I purchased some cans of essential oils and one of the can had a dent and had a leak from the top of the can. It actually had leaked through the box because whoever packaged the shipment did not properly package it correctly. I took pictures and showed them the can that was leaking. They took a long time to respond back and actually wanted me to weight the product to see how much oil was lost to replace the amount of oil that was lost instead of sending out a new replacement. Never have I dealt with a company like this. Instead of replacing the can, which could not have cost them that much, they are hassling me about the amount of liquid that was lost. I would never, ever order from them again and would discourage anyone to do the same. read more

I've had great experiences ordering from this company, so I really can't empathize with the kvetchers. I can't speak for others, no, but my orders have all arrived swiftly, and have been exactly as I ordered them. All of my orders, too, have been packed with care. Huge thumbs up from me! read more

So I ordered their 1 Gallon Hand Sanitizer on Mar 22nd and at that time they claimed they had stock and will ship in 10 days. Its been 27 days now and no response to my last 2 emails. Please avoid this site in the future. They are taking advantage of the panic set in due to Covid-19 and falsely claiming to have stock when in fact they dont. I paid $44.95 for their product plus $13.12 for shipping and the status of my order on their site is still "Awaiting Shipment". They have stopped taking phone calls and stopped responding to emails. I have asked to cancel my order and for a refund. Will update this review once I find out if they are going to honor it. read more

Terrible customer service! If I could give them less than 0 stars, I would. I ordered hand sanitizer on March 11th and it still has not shipped! It is now March 26th. They will not answer phone calls or emails, all you get is a busy signal. When I ordered it they indicated 5-7 days for shipping, there website is now saying up to 10 days to ship........don't believe them, it's been 15 days and I still have no idea when or if it's going to ship! It looks like I am out $150.00. I will be calling PayPal and the BBB to report these crooks! If they would of told me that after 15 days it would of still not been shipped without any way to find out what's going, I would of never placed the order! This company's website indicates they have plenty of stock, if that's the case why won't they ship it? read more

As a small business, COVID has impacted us just as it has others. Nevertheless, we chose to patronize Bulk Apothecary for the first-time and this will be our last. We ordered business essential products a week ago and they have yet to ship the products. Their website states the goal is 1 to 2 business days to ship. If a delay is expected they will call or email to inform. It has been 6 business day with no communication from them. We have called several time to never reach a live person. While our order may be low hanging fruit to this company, we will not be able to fulfill our business obligations this week or next. Never again will they receive our hard earned resources. read more

I'd love to be understanding of a small business that gets overwhelmed. Unfortunately, they have not done any of the things any business should do in such a situation. They're still advertising and taking orders under false pretenses (promising delivery dates that they are not coming anywhere close to honoring). They're not communicating with their customers. They're not answering phones or returning emails. They're not being transparent about their delays on their website or their Facebook page. It doesn't take a particularly savvy business mind or even a particularly smart person in general to see that they're being opportunistic and greedy. I wouldn't be surprised if they simply went out of business, took the money and ran. They clearly have no interest in treating their customers well and getting any future business. read more

COMPLETE COVID-19 SCAM. They're running ads all over the place and taking money for orders from desperate people when they know they can't deliver. Most manufacturers are honest enough to either stop taking orders until they actually have product in stock or be honest enough to say they won't have product until 2-3 months but not Bulk Apothecary. And SHAME ON YOU Bea T., Chuck K, and anyone else defending Bulk Apothecary on this board. Shame on you and how selfish to dismiss the hundreds of complaints on Yelp, BBB, etc. because you got your one bottle 2 months after you ordered it? There are frontline workers and hospitals that ordered these products and were promised shipments within 5-10 business days when Bulk Apothecary knew they hadn't even shipped orders from two months ago. There are other manufacturers who can deliver quicker and Bulk Apothecary continues to collect money from people who need it most. Complete greed! REPORT THEM TO THE OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE until they stop taking orders. read more

I'm stealing a review by NS S below because I am in complete agreement. I ordered the same product twice on the same day and they shipped the first order 12 days later and the second one 15 days later. I will NEVER order from them again...they couldn't care less about customer service. When they answer your email, it's by form replies...always the same. HORRIBLE company! "Ordered on 3/9, (for me it was 3/6) and they charged my credit card, said it was IN STOCK" NOW 10 DAYS LATER, STILL NOT SHIPPED. They have turned off their phones and wont answer emails or respond. This business seems to be a SCAM, Money taken and no product when they said in stock." read more

Terrible customer service. We are a company and they keep running out of product. we like the product but what good is it if you can't supply a company that depends on the order. Also pricing changes all the time. Not a good company. read more

I purchased 100% pure food grade baking soda, and what I received was NOT food grade, but is INDUSTRIAL grade baking soda. Then the lady on the phone told me they don't even *have* food grade baking soda. Very misleading sales tactics. Now I have to waste my time returning this 50lb bag that was needed for an event this weekend. HORRIBLY disappointed. Also, I posted a one star review on their website to warn people that this was industrial grade, not food grade. And of course, it was never 'approved'. Apparently all reviews must be approved before posting. No wonder they have so many great reviews on their site, and horrible ones everywhere else! read more

I've been ordering from them for about 2 years and have always had a wonderful experience. I feel sorry they get negative reviews during a pandemic for shipping time. They sell very high quality products at great prices and do all they can to make sure you're satisfied. read more

Very poor customer service! In my situation is was necessary to speak to a manager, and that should never be refused when a customer is needing immediate assistance regarding a paid order. I was told a manager wasn't available 4 times before they "found" a available manager. This company processed my order using a old address that was previously removed from their system. When I tried to call to correct it I was given major attitude from both customer service reps and the manager. My issue is not so much that the mistake happened, but the attitude that was given to me when I tried to correct THEIR error. Good prices should not be substituted for bad customer service. read more

Order product from them, promised delivery was 1 week from order date but nearly 1 month later no product and when I check the tracking number it shows the product is still not picked up by the carrier. I've been emailing them to cancel the order but I'm being ignored by everyone I reach out to. I should've checked the reviews for this company before I ordered from them- the reviews are correct, this company is only about themselves. The website looks professional and suggests this is a reputable company but it's not the case. eBay, despite the crazyness of it, would be a better option. They at least they have a resolutions department. Stay away from Bulk Apothecary- it's not worth the frustration and potentially lost money you might have to deal with. read more

Why do they sell products if they can't ship it ??? They even sent me an email ! your order has been shipped ! That was 3 weeks ago ... no comment read more

Bulk Apothecary lets you add items that are out of stock to your cart, select shipping, and purchase them, with zero warning or indication up front. That a retailer can even enable their e-commerce platform to allow customers to buy and pay for things that are out of stock is absolutely mindblowing to me, and totally inexcusable. If you buy from bulk apothecary, you're not paying for a product - you're paying to spin a roulette wheel. You might get what you needed a week later, maybe a month later. If it was time sensitive, you're pretty much screwed. To add insult to injury, the customer service exchanges are absolutely worthless. Pay the extra few dollars and buy from Eden's Garden, or some other retailer that sells in bulk. read more

I ordered hand sanitizer on March 24, 2020 since the one gallon spray-able size was in stock. I understood that orders could take 10 days to process, and with the Covid-19, I totally see how extreme on-line orders would hamper a business from shipping in a timely manner. After 10 days (business and calendar days) I checked my order status and it showed "awaiting shipment". I called their phone number and was told by a recorded message that orders were now taking 2 weeks to process. It has now been over THREE weeks and still "awaiting shipment". There is now way to talk to someone on the phone and emails continue to be "failed to send" on the order and document email addresses. I can't even cancel my order! Never again will I order from this company again due to very POOR customer service! read more

I placed an order for hand sanitizer on 3/16 that was supposed to ship within ten business days, according to their website. They created a shipping label on 3/20 and then never sent me any product. I wrote them two emails (because they have shut off their phones) and got weird, vague, generic responses back that blamed UPS for being behind, even though UPS is functioning fine as far as anyone knows, and I've received tons of other packages from other companies in a timely fashion. Still haven't received my order and there have been no updates from the company since 3/25. I highly doubt I will ever receive anything from them. Beware of this fraudulent company. read more

I saw their ad on Facebook and placed an order for hand sanitizer on 3/23/2020. Today is 4/21/2020, a full month after placing my order, and the only communication I have received from them is an email on 3/25/2020 saying they are backlogged and don't contact them about orders unless it has been more than 3 weeks. I checked my order status on their website and it is still "awaiting shipment." I emailed to cancel the order and haven't heard back from them yet. But I'm still seeing their ads on Facebook. If they don't have stock to fulfill existing orders, then how are they running ads to sell more? It sure seems this company is just trying to cash in by taking advantage of people during a pandemic. Avoid. read more

Ordered hand sanitizer at a whopping 50 bucks a gallon. A month later STILL nothing but emails stating week after week my product would ship. No way to contact these people. Finally gave up and canceled my order. Will NEVER order from these people and don't recommend them to anyone. read more

I placed an order on March 23rd. It said it would take 10 days to arrive on their website when I ordered. Ok, times are crazy, I get that. After the 10 days were up I checked my order number and like many others saw "awaiting shipment". The website changed to saying it would be over 2 weeks to ship. Every few days I would go back to the site and check my order again. Still awaiting shipment. It will be 4 weeks tomorrow from the time I placed my order. No updates or new info about when or if my order will ship, they're still taking orders from customers when they clearly can't handle the amount of orders they already have. I called their number and got an email address from the recording. I've sent an email asking to please refund my money and cancel my order. Fingers crossed they actually do it! read more

Unscented Hand Sanitizer Gel and Spray - (1 Gallon (128 oz) ***GEL*** Refill - $49.95 or $.39 per oz.) I just got a Gallon of this stuff which I ordered over a month ago.. I opened it happily and was filling a spray bottle, but it smelled funny. So I sniffed it,, HORRIBLE.. SCARY.. Not only do they never answer their phone, even during THEIR business hours.. but they only have taken my money and that's that. What respectable business doesn't answer their phone? It either hangs up immediately or gives a message saying its passed hours. Not professional at all. read more

Total scam and the company should have their card privileges revoked. Like the rest I ordered hand sanitizer which was "in stock". The crooks billed my AMEX on 3/19/20. I followed up on the order 14 days later and the email said they were having trouble with the gel base even though my order was for liquid. Heck the stuff was supposed to be in stock. Three emails went unanswered so I filed a complaint with AMEX. Here it is on Easter and my order status has not been updated since March 20th. Crooks and thieves burn in the afterlife. read more

The customer service is absolutely horrible i paid for over night shipping and when i got my order , it was totally wrong. They sent me the wrong size lids and when i called customer service they pretty much told me they wont be doing anything about it til monday because they were closing . i really needed the right lids for the containers for a pretty big festival and ended up having to close 2 days earlier and lost out on making a couple hundred dollars... Received my order of 1 gallon hand sanitizer approximately 5-6 weeks after ordering. Shipping dates kept being moved. Halfway understandable during a pandemic, albeit why they show an item "in stock" when it really isn't, is not helping with unhappy customers. The gallon arrived well packaged. Upon opening the gallon, I was greeted with the most ungodly smell ever. Not a chemical smell like rubbing alcohol. Rather a sickly sweet, pungent decomposing/rotting vegetables smell. Not even an entire bottle of essential oil could cut down on that rancid smell. The product is all but unusable and I have a strong suspicion either quality control went out the window to make a quick buck, or something went wrong in their production line and they shipped out a faulty product because of high demand. No way was this particular batch of sanitizer fit for resale or use. Bathing in skunk would be less vomit inducing. The company did offer a refund after notifying them of the smell, IF the gallon was shipped back (on my dime) or donated to a local hospital (but local hospital does not accept unopened product nor do I think they would want it once they smell it) and that is the only reason this is a 3 star and not a 1 star review. read more

I presume part of the low ratings were due to high demand at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. I ordered a gallon of the gel hand sanitizer June 2nd and it came today (June 12th). It was supposed to come June 8th, but considering the times, I think that is a close enough delivery date. I also do not understand the bad reviews regarding the "nauseating smell". It smells just slightly different that rubbing alcohol. I am VERY happy with this company and, right now, they are having a 30% off sale. Stay safe everyone! read more

They refuse to issue me a refund for a product I bought in the beginning of March and I NEVER RECEIVED. Having the same issue. I ordered hand sanitizer on March 22. I got an email on April 6 saying it was in stock and ready to ship. Then I got another email saying they are out of stock and making more. There was nothing stated on m receipt that indicated sales were final. I searched for reviews of this company and found many people complaint about similar issues. What happened to Bulk Apothecary who used to have great customer service, always have products in stock and would ship quickly? I'm so confused by what has come of this company. Nothing is in stock. Your live chat is off. Phone is off and I've sent 6 emails regarding products, no response. I continually get ads from your company on Instagram/Facebook, but clearly you are not equipped to handle the volume. To top it off you send long lengthy obnoxious emails giving "business advice." Received my gallon of gel hand Sanitizer on May 6th. It arrived under three weeks from when l order it as they give the advanced notice it's going to be at least two weeks before they process the order. Just put in an order for another gallon of the gel and also a couple of bars of soap as your not going to get this quality at this price anywhere else. read more

Total scam. They are taking advantage of the pandemic to explain terrible customer service. I've kindly asked for a refund after 1 month of waiting for my order and they are very unreasonable. I've been ordering from this company for many years and was always satisfied until recently! I had ordered some white beeswax back in 2016. I wasn't too concerned with the shelf life, seeing beeswax DOES NOT have a shelf life. I called and was told there was nothing they could do about it. I do understand that I wouldn't get a refund, but I'm wondering why they wouldn't at least give me some kind of credit going forward. I feel that the beeswax is not beeswax at all. I feel that they sold me something else and miss-represented their product. Here is a link to Beeswax and it's longevity! http://hiveharvest.com/beeswax/ read more

A quality hand sanitizer that doesn't cost $80/gallon Plus shipping and take 6 weeks to get because it is not made in China? Count me in! It only took about a week to get. Did I mention that it is made in the USA and not China? That alone, is reason to buy from Apothecary. I doubt you will find any sanitizer gel that is not made in China. There are other companies selling sanitizer that they claim is made here but it is like water. You will essentially be paying $80/gallon plus shipping for rubbing alcohol. read more
