Based upon a recommendation from a neighbor who had NCA Carolinas construct their home's addition,…read morewe contacted NCA Carolinas for a sunroom addition. A representative came out with an architect to discuss our project. They left after a short while, with the promise that the next step was to be the architect contacting us with some sketches. Never heard back from either the architect or NCA Carolinas. Our next door neighbor also had NCA Carolinas come out for their project, and the same thing - they never heard back from them again. All we can assume is that our home additions were not large enough project for NCA Carolinas to be bothered with. The fact that we never heard back from them speaks volumes about their service. As such, I can not recommend NCA Carolinas for any project.

I had a leak that was coming from the ceiling of a downstairs closet. I thought it might be a complicated leak from the second floor bathroom - I was so happy to see when the closet ceiling was removed that the leak came literally from a part directly on top of the closet ceiling (so water hadn't been traveling all around the second floor). It was a simple situation. These guys jacked my bill up to over $5000, which forced me to go through homeowner's insurance. I got it brought down to just over $4000 after complaining. ...also note, they will not give an estimate in advance. They never gave me one throughout the time they were here and they never gave one to my friend in Providence Downs neighborhood. They just wouldn't give her a dollar figure and, in her case, she wasn't dealing with an active leak, so she chose to not work with Sunshine and instead chose a company that would give her an estimate. After what happened with me, it's obvious that they avoid giving a dollar amount so that they can start the work and then inflate the cost once they're already working. ...lastly, they charge by the hour - something I hadn't realized as I would see them arrive and park at my house and take forever to get out of their truck. They even went to my neighbor's house to inspect something for her when she saw their truck and came over to ask them about something at her house. Yes, I'd thought it was odd that every time they came they just sat in their truck for so long but it never occurred to me that they were killing time and that I was paying for it.

This company had been recommended by a contractor who had worked on our house and whom we thoroughly trust. He had worked with this company before and highly recommended them. The DRP representative promised to call in a couple of days to set up a time to come back with someone else from the company. When I did not hear back, I tried to call the representative. He did not return my call. I then texted him and got a reply that they never heard of the contractor who recommended them and were not interested in doing the work because they were too busy with other projects. He could have told me from the beginning they were too busy. I lost valuable time waiting for someone who was never interested in doing the work in the first place. As a result, the mold situation in my house has probably worsened. I would never trust this company and would urge anyone considering hiring them to look elsewhere.
