The Gonzalez contract stated scraping of old paint is included, but the team refused to scrape paint off my siding saying they don't do that. I brought it up with the foreman multiple times. Well, most of the exterior of my house is siding, so I would never have signed the contract if that was stated at the outset. See the attached photo for how they just spray paint over peeling paint. I called the owner and left a message but there was no return call. I won't get into other issues, but for this reason alone, I am giving 1 star.

Nonetheless, our contact person Madeleine and her crew came out to assess our foundation and cracks and some mold from the humidity in the crawlspace. In the end we went with mold remediation, a sump pump, new vapor barrier, joist lifts, and air sealing to keep out the creepy crawlies. Big ticket expense, but when compared to the competition, we went with them because of the thoroughness with the estimate interview and the willingness to answer all of our questions, they were also well-spoken of on other review sites including a popular large community message board, and the price was pretty comparable. Also, the crew was very good. My only ding would be was not putting the items in the crawlspace back in the order that it was originally, which saved space. But to add to their credit, we have one additional project that needs to be done outside of Little Corner's scope and the new company took a look at Little Corner's work and said "They did a very good job, this is how we would have done it." I think that speaks well of them as a whole. They may not be the biggest company, but they are professional, kind, and diligent about their work. Thank you, Madeleine and crew.

I hired Greg to renovate a half bath that had a toilet that leaked, damaging the sub floor and…read morehardwoods in the hall. The first red flag was Greg's cartoonish quote for work. Greg is a smooth talker and made it seem like it would all be good. He said payment would be due upon completion although there was no mention of this in the "contract." Turns out "Remove vanity and install custom vanity" means ripping out the large existing vanity, sink, and huge mirror and then popping down the pedestal sink THAT I BOUGHT. Period. Red flag #2: When I asked Greg about the massive drywall damage, he said "Is it in the contract?" The agreement does say he does not cover drywall repair, but this was literally left in a demo state. On Day 2, while the entire floor was ripped up with the crawlspace exposed, Greg asked me for a check. I said I planned to pay him with a credit card and it would take me a few days to move money around to give him the equivalent of cash. Day 3 he walked off the job claiming non-payment. After I calmly explained that I could not be in non-payment because no payment was due, Greg came back the next day like nothing happened... All of the insulations under the half bath was wet so it had to go. Greg did not want anything to do with replacing it. I went out and bought insulation and installed it myself. Either Greg or his plumber, Drew, cracked the first sink basin during install. Luckily Home Depot replaced it with no questions and Drew came back and installed the new one. Drew was actually great. I did all of the leg work for the return, so don't expect Greg to actually stand by his work or take responsibility for mistakes. Greg made it clear he does not do hardwood floor repair and I was fine with that. Turns out, my hardwood flooring guy discovered that there was a strange strip of plywood sub floor installed to fill a gap that was not actually supported. We found out why when he pulled it up. See photos. Don't expect structural repairs to actually connect to other structural members. Don't expect your tile OR subfloor to be level or flat. Don't expect a professional job.

I contacted NHRC and Greg came out the next day for a consultation. He quoted me a price that I thought was very good for the entire bathroom remodel. Greg and his other worker were very efficient and even though we ran into a few issues (old plumbing and uneven walls), Greg was able to troubleshoot the issues and did a fantastic job with this renovation. As you can see from the photos, the bathroom turned out beautifully! I'm very happy with the results. Greg did such a great job. I will be contacting him for future renovations. No other handyman bothered to respond except Bernie as the repair had to be done from under the house via the crawlspace. Bernie came and gave a detailed estimate and also went under the house into the crawlspace and took pictures and measurements. We scheduled the job and Bernie came exactly on time and made the repair with no complaining about the fact that working in a crawlspace is pretty hard to do and makes the job much more difficult. As a result of this we will now begin to schedule more work with Bernie for flooring as well as painting. His honesty and willingness to do our small job will always be remembered by us as no one else seemed to care about doing it or even returning our calls. The wall removal included moving a water line and some electrical, as well as patching the ceiling and wall. They were prompt, came at the agreed upon time, kept us apprised of their schedule, AND took care to make sure the whole area was covered and blocked off to avoid dust and debris getting into our kitchen or living room. The whole job was done in just 2 days, and they even came by the 3rd day to give us a remaining outlet cover and double check to make sure everything was 100% working and exactly as we wanted.
