Sam came over and looked at the job, and gave me an estimate, which was fair, for the work. Like I said, this was a difficult project, and ran into a number of snags. As S&N proceeded with the demolition of the deck, there was a water pipe that needed to be rerouted, a gas pipe that needed to be removed, multiple electrical wirings that needed to be removed, and the main power cables that ultimately had to be replaced. S&N was great in working with all of these setbacks as we got them done, and finally got to the business of placing the patio pavers. Sam had great recommendations for how this should be done, and decided on two occasions that what was planned was not going to work. He always was up front and communicative about any changes. Both times he had to tear up what had already been done, to then replace the work with what was going to work best. Over a 10 day period of time, working in cooperation, I finally had a great new paver patio. I just need to do some siding repair and landscaping. Sam, Nancy, and crew were great to work with, and I would surely recommend them for your 'hardscaping' work.

I now needed a new front screen door and after doing my research there are many contractors that will install a new front door or screen door that they usually purchase from Home Depot which sells the cheapest screen or front doors available and then they install it. I decided to give Prowns a call and find out if they installed screen doors which they do. This is a family business that still takes pride in their work and stands behind their work as well so I thought I'd give them a try again. They gave me a quote which was reasonable and in line with the other contractors that had also given me a quote so I decided to use them again. Also the company that manufactured the door is known for their high quality work didn't disappoint as their screen door is very well made and rock solid. Along the way the original company that gave Prowns the quote had changed their line of screen doors and the new door was more expensive but Prowns being a reputable company honored their original quote and didn't charge me a penny more, how many companies would do that! In any case the door was custom made (all their doors are custom designed to fit your exact door opening) and it fit perfectly and looks great and they showed up exactly when they said they would and did the install. A couple of days later I noticed that the door didn't close as it should, meaning that the door didn't close far enough for the bolt to close to the point where it should have been inside the door frame to secure it in place. I called them up and described the problem and they made an appointment for their tech to come back and fix the problem. They came back and adjusted the problem but within a day the problem has returned. I called them again and told them the problem wasn't quite fixed and they told me a tech would be back this afternoon, hopefully they'll be able to fix the root of the problem. Unfortunately these kind of issues happen when installing new materials in older homes or during the summer when building materials tend to expand and contract because of the temperature extremes that happen on a daily basis. My be point is that when you do business with a reputable company they'll come back and fix the problem until it's resolved whereas if you're lucky a freelance contractor might come back once or not at all. Prowns is servicing the issue with the problem concerning the door they sold me and that's old fashioned quality and honesty that is indeed rare especially in the field of home contracting. If you need any work concerning doors or windows or window treatments these are people that you want to do business with, which is probably why they've been in business about 75 years or more and anyone who's ever read my reviews knows that I'll give my fellow consumers the straight dope when it comes to a service because I don't like being taken advantage of and I don't want it to happen to anyone else.

They really worked with me to get the pricing to where the insurance would accept the quote, and after quoting a few different companies they were competitively priced. They were very accommodating when I had to postpone the install a few days before they were to begin siding. There was a small issue at end of job, but they were very receptive and out immediately to take care of my concerns. Overall a very good company and I would definitely recommend them.

When they removed the old siding they uncovered some cosmetic damage to the foundation. They said they couldn't re-cover the area with siding, as doing so would void the manufacturer's warranty. Nor could they repair the "damage" themselves because, as they said, "We're a siding company, not masons". Thus, tens of thousands of dollars later our home was an eyesore and Keystone was no where in sight. In the end I was able to fix the problem myself; a mason was not even required. I feel, though, that Keystone should have offered just a hint of customer support by fixing a relatively simple problem themselves, or at least suggesting someone who could do the work. So though they did a good job installing the siding, I would never hire them again, nor recommend that anyone else do so.
