George always makes sure I get the lumber and supplies we need as a company. He is efficient and very responsive. If he leaves, we leave.

Never been here but had bought some construction materials before, either through my handyman or via phone orders. And I'd rather keep it that way. The store is situated in an inconvenient location in the corner of victory and chandler. There's only one way to get in and out. Thankfully, there's a traffic light in this intersection. Otherwise, there'll be a traffic mess around here. Speaking of mess, this is the perfect description for this store. I went inside to check what's in store. It's an eyesore. It's very small and dim. If you're claustrophobic, don't come here because space is really very tight with no windows. Merchandise is very limited but yet very disorganized and dusty. Went to the other room and saw three designers probably for deck, Windows, doors? Not sure. I didn't bother to ask because I just want to get out. Pieces of Lumber are scattered everywhere. The store set up is just very weird for me. It's not typical big box stores. It feels more like a junk yard to me. I'll still patronize them without setting foot again. I'll stick to my old way of sending someone else or place a phone order. read more

What an excellent experience we had at BMC. George Tuers helped us out. We needed to get composite mercurial to redo the decking. George helped us out suggested materials for the support and told me that I needed to get special materials to cut the composite. Knowledgeable staff makes a world of difference. I've been here a handful of times and my experience has always been good. The guys on the lot have always been friendly and very helpful. It can sometimes take a while to get someone when inside at the counter and the advertised prices are not necessarily the best but I've always been able to negotiate a fair price and have left a satisfied customer. Absolutely a waste of time. They have a bench of unmotivated door salespeople that are 1) not helpful or informed when it comes to products and 2) lazy beyond belief. Terrible communication and service from start to I'm moving on. After being referred by Anderson's "local retailer" section, I reached out on their website - no response. Called the store directly - no response. Oh, I got a missed call at one point and called back to hear my quote, was told by a salesperson "I'll call you when I get back to my desk in 5" - no response. read more

I would give them no stars if I could. They have no idea of what customer service means. They are rude, and act as if they don't want your money. How they stay in business is a mystery. I ordered some doors for my house. One of the doors was damaged upon arrival. They had to order it again and they ordered the wrong door, so they had to order it a third time. Yikes, these people couldn't care less about customer service. One window holding up my remodel and BMC employees kept saying it's being shipped, buy the had the damn window the whole time. Plus it was badly damaged and oorly constructed and the staff just dumped it in a corner in the until I raised some hell. Would have been 5 stars.... I started a bedroom addition, got materials quote from home depot, lowes, and BMC. Lowes didn't even carry everything I needed, and Home depot did with the lowest quote. BMC ended up beating Home depot's quote after I asked them to. I was more than glad they did because home depot's and lowes' customer service didn't touch the service I got from BMC. Friendly, helpful, had all materials I needed, and setup delivery within 2 days, even with a special order. However, Now BMC owes my customer's house one termite fumigation. The lumber was littered with termites, fresh termites not ones necessarily in the wood, but termites none the less. This is unacceptable. They need to clean their yard. Other than this they would have received 5 stars. read more

If you are purchasing something customer service is great, however if you need to return something, either because of faulty equipment or you just bought the wrong item this place really SUCKS! I initially bought over $750 worth of EQ including an air compressor and a set of nail guns with cash at their Burbank store. When i arrived home i tried to start the compressor but it did not work. Also, my handyman told me i got the wrong nail guns so today i tried to return these items at their Northridge branch but they would not accept them. I had to drive all the way back to Burbank for the return. Why? This is crazy they shouldn't be named the same if i cannot return items at different locations. Once back at Burbank i was immediately met with resistance for trying to return a broken compressor and an unused set of nail guns. After being hassled they returned the compressor but charged me a 25% restocking fee for the unused guns. They tried to tell me i used them. Excuse me, why should i feel like i am in the wrong when trying to return an item to your store? To top it off they would not give me cash back, even though i paid CASH! I have to wait two weeks for a check in the mail. There is a serious problem with the way STOCK does business. Get rid of salesmen and take care of your customer! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about STOCK Building Supply. If you want extremely personal and customized service and are sick and tired of places like the HOME DEPOT, then STOCK is the place for you. I purchased a large number of doors and they were delivered quickly right to my house. The salesman was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make sure my order was perfect. I had to go with two different suppliers and was ready to accept two doors that were slightly different in design. The salesman asked me to wait and in about 30 minutes he not only found matching doors, but also at a better price! He seemed genuinely concerned that my renovations would come out looking great. you won;t find this at Home Depot! I also found the prices to be as good or better. FINAL WORD: STOCK is a great company. Any time I need doors, windows or larger items, I will go to them! read more

This review is for BMC Windows and Doors on Victory Blvd in Burbank. Called last week and made appointment for salesman 'Steve' to measure and quote a tilt out Marvin window. After my first call I was advised someone named Steve would call me back to set up appointment. No one called me so I called back. The woman who took my call scheduled the appointment with Steve. Steve was a no show. I called again and spoke directly with Steve Lawrence this time who gave me a quote over the phone. Why was this not offered the first time? Steve was scheduled to come by for a measurement today, 45 minutes after scheduled appointment when he did not show I called the office again. Was told Steve is at a job site in Encino. I cancelled appointment and will take my business elsewhere. By the way Steve told me to have my handyman take measurements too and they would compare - this should have been a red flag. Just glad I didn't order a window through these guys. read more

Great bunch to work with! I had custom exterior crown molding made to repair a 1950's home in Burbank and they did a fantastic job. Had sample in hand, it took a couple days before my custom work could be started, and done with excellent quality, it matched perfectly with the old trim work. read more

Steve in windows is honest and a pleasure to work with. I was interested in Marvin windows as a homeowner and owner/landlord of multiple properties in the area. Unlike other vendors, he returned my call, gave me the best estimates and information without talking down to me or insisting that he talk to my Contractor rather than deal with me ( as a female?)I was able to bring in my Contractor toward the end of the process and pay with the credit card of my choice. Steve also offered to hold the windows until my Contractor was ready to install them. Even if this is not the closest vendor to you, I would recommend that you use this business . read more

If you're in the area and need some windows for your home, don't make the mistake of shopping here. The salesmen here have no idea what they're doing. I asked a salesman, "Daniel" if they have a certain window from Milgard and he said it didn't exist. He said I would have to go with an aluminum one that looks similar, then at the last minute says he found the window in the Milgard catalog. My contractor then ordered it and the salesman not only didn't order it, he didn't even call my contractor to tell him, and I didn't find out until two weeks later! These people don't care about the small customer. So...I called Jon's Windows and Awnings in Burbank (rated number one by Burbank residents!) And the lady Connie, knew right away that they carried the Milgard I was looking for! They charge the same price to contractors and regular people! Also, the contractor that BMC recommended did totally sub-par work. If you want your project to go right, Stick with Jon's in Burbank! read more

This company is now called BMC. I have been going to stock on San Fernando in Atwater for years. That's a great place. The Burbank location however is one of the WORST lumber yards around. These guys don't even have a saw that work for cutting down lengths. I picked out a finished piece of redwood that the workers hacked apart. It was a beautiful piece until they dragged it out of the lumber shed. Then proceeded to hack into it with a broken saw, then they through it on a forklift and it banged around to the back of the yard where there was supposedly a working saw. The guy came back and had cut the wrong side. I reminded them that this was for finish work. They didn't give a crap. He threw it back into the forklift and came back 25 minutes later. There was oil sprayed onto it from I'm assuming the saw. It was not the same piece of lumber I had picked out. I will NEVER go here again. I should have gone to Atwater location. I've learned my lesson. Oh and a $30 piece of shit lumber. Should have gone to F'n Home Depot. Get it together "BMC". read more
