We had Builders Custom Flooring install a waterproofing system and tile our master bathroom. Very personable workers, showed up on time, and left a clean job site. Unfortunately, we didn't realize until after they had left that they rushed a little on the tiling work. The cleanup of the grout was not done properly and has left a permanent haze on the tile. Also, because some of the tiling was not done properly, the plumbers (subcontracted through Builders Custom Flooring) had to cut a hole in the drywall to finish installing the shower plumbing. Very good plumbers, but not very good drywall. When I contacted the owner, Dan about the situation, he said "Thanks for calling". So the net of it is, 90% of the job was great, the last 10% looks as though amateurs had done it, averages out to 3 stars. read more

Great service from measurement to install. We have used them twice, once for living room and hall for wood floors and most recently for three bedrooms of the same. The installers are not your ordinary installers either! They really care about what they do and install like a craftsman would! Would not hesitate to refer this company. Visited this store on Saturday, went into great detail with a dilemma we were having and needed 2 bullnose. While Dan quoted (from his computer)the price , we were happy to have resolution. Three days later we call to order, the price price went up $160. My husband told him "that isn't what you quoted 3 days ago". Dan's reply " that's the price". I then called bc I needed to know what happened. Benjamin told me Dan was with a customer and would call me back. That didn't happen because it was never about good customer service. However when a 1 star review was posted he called me immediately, not to discuss why the price jumped 100%, but to express his displeasure with the fact that I posed a negative review. read more

Buyer beware, we are renovating an older home and the owner, Dan Burgess came in two different times to measure and provide a quote to refinish our wood floors. He assured us he could handle the job and went on and on about how they specialize in floors like ours. He quoted $5,000 and we accepted and gave a deposit of $2,500. The day they were supposed to start, I get a call from Dan telling me that they can't do the work and that our floors can't handle anymore sanding. I asked if his men could do any of the rooms at all and he said "they already left your house". I specifically scheduled all of my other trades around this work and made it so that the house would be empty that week. To say this was handled poorly is an understatement. He left us in a really bad spot and totally screwed up our schedule. I demanded my deposit back immediately and didn't even receive an apology. I was lucky enough to find someone to do the work for less than half the price. The floors took a sanding with no problem and turned out beautifully. I honestly feel that Dan had a higher dollar job come up and decided to pursue that instead. I cannot believe the lack of professionalism and am disgusted about how this was handled. Do not use this company, they are overpriced and under qualified. He even insisted that I remove all of the shoe molding myself because he is afraid of potential lead paint and his insurance isn't updated for that type of work. What an absolute joke. They refinished our wood floors. Some parts look great, and some have missing finish by the moldings. The person that caulked the moldings did a horrible job, I could have done better. My cleaning lady even pointed out areas that were missing the stain, and he said "do you really think they will notice?" read more

I contracted BCF to do my entire main floor, and I couldn't be happier. They were able to level my floor, get rid of my ugly tile and carpet and the new floors look amazing. The attention to detail is very apparent with the installers. The trim job was great too. Everything was hauled away and cleaned up so I didn't have to worry about that either. The Brazilian cherry has wore very well, even with an active family of five, several dogs, and plenty of guests. Poor customer service. Never returned a phone call. Left us hanging for 3 weeks. Would not recommend.

Floor was not properly leveled before installing floor boards. Now there are low spots and boards are popping up. I noticed these low spots during install and the installer said they are "normal." The floor is not even 3 years old. Might have to get it done again, properly, much sooner than I should. read more
