I'm starting a home improvement project and placed a fairly large order--several hundred dollars'…read moreworth of materials--plus $60 for next-day delivery. They confirmed the order was ready to go. Day 1: Nothing arrived. I called and was told there was a "delay." Fine--things happen. They assured me it would come the next day. Day 2: The 1-3 p.m. window came and went. No delivery. I called again. This time I was told it would arrive by 8 p.m. Still fine; I rearranged my day and waited. At exactly 8 p.m., I got a text telling me the delivery was now pushed to the next day, 1-3 p.m. Day 3: FedEx finally showed--with one small item from the entire order. Keep in mind: they repeatedly told me an adult had to be home for this delivery. So I've now burned three days on standby. When I called to ask what was going on, I was told the delay was actually because I had selected next-day delivery--which apparently sent the order to a third-party gig-driver service that "couldn't find a driver." The rep literally blamed me for choosing the service they sell, and when I angrily pushed back, she hung up on me. At that point, I cancelled the order entirely. If simple delivery requires three days, finger-pointing, and a hang-up, I'm not risking the rest of the project with them.

The manufacturer is giving me the runaround and Lowe's will do nothing to help me get the $3,000 refrigerator I purchased from them repaired. Meanwhile it is 100° outside and I have no way of keeping my groceries cold. Apparently, they only cover the refrigerator for two days After installation. Even with the service plan, they will do nothing because technically it's covered under the manufacturers warranty. They don't really seem to care that the manufacturer is not responding.

Also the hours are a lot different than those mass retailer stores as well. But you have to remember that you are in the heart of a tiny town called Naples. So, this is what you get. Upon entry you are greeted with a large moose head hanging on the right, and the register right in front of you. There is a bright red sign that says, "Welcome to your neighborhood do it yourself center". I stood there for a bit until a man behind the counter asked if I needed help. I declined as I was snapping photos and then off to join my father-in-law pick out some nails for some flooring. A nice woman there let us open the package and test them in a transition strip to make sure they were the right size. I thought that was a nice personal touch and overall great customer service. They have a private parking lot, but you have to be careful pulling out. Traffic coming from the left can often move fast. Also, this place is next store to Joseph's Wayside Market so on weekend I suspect a lot of their customer park here.

Everyone, from Kurt, the Manager , to Morgan the delivery person, aim to please. I've struggled with coordinating the delivery times with folks from the Big Box stores but never at Wilcox. I ask them to deliver at a certain time and place and the material is always on site as requested. Kurt has been very helpful with pricing and the quality of the materials is excellent. I believe in supporting the local business establishments and sometimes that means paying a little more. But not with Wilcox, the pricing is very competitive and the service is superior, Tom Curtin
