Great selection of restaurants, stores, offices and things to do. We frequent here because it is close to us and we are glad it is!

Jin Wickwire is AMAZING!!! Look no further for your next and future always realtor! From start to…read morefinish, Jin goes above and beyond for her clients. I loved how she explained everything so openly and clearly, as well as being highly responsive whenever we had questions or needed to discuss things related to our next home. She made everything a breeze which is so necessary when buying and/or selling! It is such a crazy and often times stressful process, but with Jin on our side, I felt at ease and grounded. She has so many connections, knows everyone (and everyone knows her), and is knowledgeable about pretty much anything you could want or need to know. And if she doesn't have the info you're looking for, she makes sure that we get what we need. Our buying process was a little hectic but she truly did an exceptional job of helping us with negotiations, navigating hard and tense dynamics, and dealing with conflictual or complex situations. We needed to upsize and were looking for a single family in Northern Virginia. She helped us find the home that we'd been looking for- a single family in Gainesville! No matter what came our way, she was there for us and always on our side. 10/10 recommend! Our family will be using her forever!

While the home-buying process itself was smooth, our move-out experience was the complete opposite. As a family with young children, we were repeatedly questioned and made to feel uncomfortable over normal wear and tear......things like minor drywall nicks that are expected in any home with kids. These were already being addressed on our end with a contractor, as we had communicated. Despite agreeing to cover repairs and forfeit a $3,000 deposit, we were met with unnecessary comments and a level of aggression that felt unprofessional and unwarranted. It was especially disappointing given that we chose to work with her over many other options, expecting a level of trust and respect in return. We believe in accountability and were fully willing to take care of any legitimate damages....but respect and professionalism should go both ways. Based on this experience, we would not recommend doing business with Jin.

We contacted Synergy Design and Construction about a renovation for our home. After meeting with…read moreus, they asked if we were considering other contractors. We had dealt with another contractor in the past with good success. Synergy said "It sounds like one firm has done right by you. Why don't you see what they come back with, and we're happy to offer free advice." We sent the other contractor's proposal to them. They responded the next day with suggestions to improve the design. They also said "if you have seen their work and are comfortable with their quality, then you should go with them. It seems like a fair proposal." Unlike most contractors who bad-mouth the competition and will try to sell you on any job, Synergy genuinely cared about our results as a homeowner, first. We tried to shift the project to Synergy, and their owner said "I think the other guys earned your business. Please consider us for the next one." WOW! This is the kind of company you want to work with!"

It's difficult to express, in as few words as possible, our satisfaction with their product as there are too many factors involved in a major construction to be able to include them all. I will touch on the major points. Mark and Mina and their team became like members of our extended family; they talked with us and asked questions to uncover the aspects of the house that could be changed to make our home one where we would use the space, inside and out, to the greatest extent possible. The team examined every inch of the house, in order to discover it's potential and to avoid problems. We learned quickly that we could trust them completely, their diligence and attention to every detail allowed us to leave the job to the team, which we did. They delivered a design that was, frankly, beyond what we could have imagined. Their architect, Tom, is a hidden gem with significant talent and skill. He monitored the entire construction for oversight and to maintain the integrity of his design. The quality of the construction is superior, the carpenters are highly skilled. The people who work for Mark and Mina are some of the nicest people I've ever met which made working with these creative, helpful, skilled people a pleasure, it was never a burden. We were greatly blessed by the work of the hands of this company and it is my hope you will consider using them for your project. If I had another project, I would not hesitate to pick up the phone and call Mark. If I have a problem with the project they've completed, I know they will respond graciously and quickly. I did not realize that having a realtor as the buyer was a non-negotiable! Not only do you not have to pay for them, but the seller will definitely have one, and you will need somebody on your side. Craig was fantastic. Not only did he help curate places for me to look at, he also assisted in getting me around. As a DC resident, I don't have a car, and taking a bus to look at locations would be a little bit time consuming. He was happy to drive and show me multiple locations. Craig is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects that we encountered in my real estate journey. He was also happy to explain any questions that I had, and he was available at hours he probably didn't need to be. Possibly one of the best aspects about working with Craig is that he was always happy to answer questions. I am writing this review a year after having settled, and he is always responsive and helpful when I have questions as a somewhat knowledgeable, but still first time, home buyer. I would highly recommend working with Craig for anyone who is unfamiliar with what it takes to be a buyer. Thank you so much!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. I originally signed and hired Divine Developments LLC October 3, 2023 and…read morepaid $9,912.87 and signed a contract on January 18, 2024, in good faith. They promised to handle my insurance-covered storm repairs, including permits, supplements, and full coordination with my insurer. I was told not to contact my insurance company -- they'd "handle everything." They never pulled permits. Never did any work. Never refunded me. I asked them to start the work (beginning a few weeks after signing as I had significant damage to my home) or return my money over a dozen times between April and November 2024. I gave them every chance. Instead, they made excuses and then claimed I owed a 20% cancellation fee based on a document (their inflated ECR) they created after the fact, one I never saw nor agreed to at signing. The contract also states: "Your out-of-pocket expenses will not exceed your deductible, and you will be responsible for any non-insurance related costs." I did not request non-covered work. I did not authorize additional services. The contract also states "This agreement relies on approval from your insurance company. It does not bind you or Divine Developments LLC until your insurance company approves and Divine Developments accepts it." John Murphy aka Rich Kim told me "If you want the roof done without addressing the siding and chimney then you have to sign a waiver to address those things or you must get that situated before us moving forward" he claimed they couldn't handle a roof replacement without doing my siding. In past insurance claims, supplements were submitted during construction, not prior. Divine Development's own contract acknowledges that the agreement is contingent upon insurance approval, but they never initiated any work even after partial approval was received. Divine Development's failure to start work cannot be blamed on my insurer. Their misrepresentation of the insurance process was used as an excuse to delay performance while retaining nearly $10,000 of my funds. Throughout our correspondence, Mr. Murphy/Kim insisted that work could not begin until all supplements were approved by State Farm. This is factually and procedurally false. In reality: Contractors regularly begin work based on the initial approved scope; Supplements are routinely submitted during construction as new conditions arise; Their reliance on this excuse to justify months of inaction and deflect from nonperformance was misleading and manipulative. The person I dealt with called himself John Murphy, but I later confirmed through Erie Insurance, legal filings, and his own social media video that he's really Richard Han Kim. He used multiple names, including "Rich Kim" on video, while signing contracts and threatening people as "John Murphy." It was all a front. When I left a factual review to warn others, he threatened me with legal action. That was October 17, 2024. He threatened me again on April 17, 2025. This man took my money, never showed up, and then tried to intimidate me into silence. To this day, they've never done a single bit of work. They never pulled a permit. They never did what they promised and they never gave my money back. I've since found they are named in a $77,000 court judgment in New York for unpaid loans. They're also listed on the D.C. revocation list and used a Regus virtual office to get licensed in Connecticut. And they falsely claimed BBB accreditation in their contract. I've filed complaints with the AG, FTC, DCP (Case #2025-380), and BBB (a second after uncovering more deceit and lies). They also had their license revoked from DLCP. They scammed me, lied to me, ghosted me, and threatened me for speaking out. You've been warned. They are everything wrong with this industry.
