We don't usually leave negative reviews, but our experience with our former landlord and real estate agent, Jin Wickwire, unfortunately ended on a very disappointing note. While the home-buying process itself was smooth, our move-out experience was the complete opposite. As a family with young children, we were repeatedly questioned and made to feel uncomfortable over normal wear and tear......things like minor drywall nicks that are expected in any home with kids. These were already being addressed on our end with a contractor, as we had communicated. Despite agreeing to cover repairs and forfeit a $3,000 deposit, we were met with unnecessary comments and a level of aggression that felt unprofessional and unwarranted. It was especially disappointing given that we chose to work with her over many other options, expecting a level of trust and respect in return. We believe in accountability and were fully willing to take care of any legitimate damages....but respect and professionalism should go both ways. Based on this experience, we would not recommend doing business with Jin. read more

Jin helped my family sell their single family home in Chantilly, and they were super happy to have met and worked with her after receiving a recommendation of her services. She was helpful and on top of everything. It was great to have open communication and lots of access for their questions and concerns. Every time they had questions, she was responsive and available. Where do we start? We found out about Jin Wickwire from our friends who worked with her buying their home. Their takeaway from their experience with her was always "She's so busy, but she treats you like you're her only client." This could not be more true. Every phone call, text message, and email was answered within the hour if not sooner. Every (stupid) question was answered with so much detail and past client experiences. She walks you through everything. Nothing is forgotten or overlooked. During our first meeting, she level-set with us and told us that since we're selling a condo, we should expect our home to be on the market anywhere from 45 to 60 days (that's how the market was at the time of list in Ashburn VA). We were under contract in 12. 12 days! Are you kidding me? When we put our home up on the market, there were 2 or 3 homes in our immediate neighborhood that were up for sale before us. As of writing this review, they are still on the market. This was only possible because of the way her team prepared our home for sale. Her team came and staged the house. Then the photographer came and took 360 view shots, photos, drone footage, and video of the house. Then we had pamphlets made so that buyers could get a quick look of the layout of the home. All this? Included in her fee by the way. Aside from the financials and the home, Jin has set the bar so high for how a real estate agent should be. We highly highly recommend Jin. I was selling my townhouse in Ashburn, Virginia, so I interviewed 5 realtors. They tell you to interview 3, but I would interview 5. After asking questions, it was obvious which realtor I should choose, and I was not disappointed with my decision to sign with Jin Wickwire. During my interviews, it became obvious there are good realtors and ones that are not as good. Two of the realtors did comparisons and gave me sales prices, 20,000 below Jin's price. The house was placed on the market on a Thursday, and I had two offers on Monday after one open house. Both offers came in above the asking price. If this doesn't tell you something, I don't know what will. Interview 5 realtors like I did and make sure you put Jin Wickwire on the list. I found Jin on Yelp because she is a top rated agent in Ashburn. I didn't know her before I started my search. Her phone is welded to her hip, which was very important to me. Had a WONDERFUL experience working with Jin! This was my third home purchase, and I have zero regrets having Jin as our agent. To sum it up: There was NEVER any doubt about being able to trust her intentions, which in my experience is always a question in real estate. Given our long search (about 18 months on and off) and consideration of new build vs. existing home, there were numerous opportunities for Jin to steer us in the direction that resulted in a quick transaction so she could get paid. She always erred on the side of giving us the information that would help us make the best decision FOR US -- with plenty of patience and no pressure. We submitted several offers before getting one accepted, and it was clear in each of these situations Jin was both savvy about how to position ourselves for success -- and able to work extremely well with other agents in the area (which not all are, though this can make a huge difference). Not to mention, Jin is also extremely detail oriented in terms of finding issues in a prospective property you may not have noticed or warning you about potentially sticky contractual/legal issues. She was proactive in working some unique issues out with our lender and the seller's agent between offer acceptance and close, where things definitely could've fallen through the cracks. Honestly what I really appreciated even more than Jin's professionalism and expertise was her style. Sorry, but many agents are a little smarmy, not folks I want to be around (at least while they're on their day job). Jin is friendly without being patronizing. Smart without being pedantic. No-nonsense but thoroughly enjoyable to "hang with" as you inevitably do with your realtor countless times during this process.
