We booked another birthday party for our youngest kiddo this month and we had an absolute blast. Rachael our party host was extremely patient and really fun and engaging with our party of 10. She allowed us to start a little later to wait for our guests to arrive, but it did make me feel like the party was cut short because we started later and she got off her shift less than an hour later and it seemed to be a little rushed after that. The price was right and I appreciate they let me use the $10 birthday coupon on top of my deposit to bring the cost down. They were extremely clear with the rules for the kids and adults and made sure to reiterate to avoid anyone going over budget which I also really appreciated. Overpriced for what you get. The prices of the toys themselves is too much, $36 just for the shell itself. The one my niece picked didn't even fit in clothes, they charged another $8 just for a sound, came out to $48 altogether for just that. We didn't even get the doll any clothes; they didn't do the birth certificate part I remember doing when I was a kid, and didn't even get the special build a bear box they're supposed to go home in that I also remember from my childhood. I recently reunited with my first and favorite plush, my 2009 Hello Kitty Build a Bear and Today I took her in for my birthday and the staff was soo cute and nice! They re-stuffed her and I added the strawberry scent . I really wanted to combat boots and they didn't have any in stock but they gave me the pair right off the froggy mannequin! I ended up here because I promised my daughter a My Little Pony stuffed animal. She has been such a trooper when she was in the hospital and being such a good girl! As we entered, we were greeted by a nice guy. He helped us out. My daughter already picked out her stuffed animal. She picked out Song Bird from My Little Pony. The nice young lady stuffed her animal. I purchased a song to put inside. All the other accessories add up when at the register. I think I paid like $50 but it was worth it for my daughter. They had a special for 2 for $35 and it was only on certain ones. A good deal for those but again I'm sure it adds up with all the extras. Clothes are sold separately. Cute stuffed animals in here. We just drove an hour up here for my 3 year olds birthday, the family before us got a whole ceremony and extras, hearts, and things to put inside, the lady who helped us sewed up with bear in one minute, offering nothing extra or special, what a waste. Very cute idea of building a stuffed animal for your kids and making it an experience. What bothers me is that everything is nickeled and dime. There's a sound option and a scent option, dressing option and accessories option. The cost of my friend's son's stuffed animal and my daughter's bear came to $85 for two stuffed animals. A bit steep considering it's just for stuffed animals, but it's the extras that get you, not the stuffed animal itself. They know how to get to your kids to want to get the clothing and accessories and that's where you'll be expecting to pay $50+ for. This location is a bit smaller than other locations I've been to but considering this was for my daughter's birthday gift, I figured, why not? Time to make the most out of it and let her have her moment. read more

You can build a custom and personal bear for about $30 - $50 depending on how creative you want to get. I went in yesterday around 4pm with my daughter to build her a bear for her 10th birthday and I was very disappointed with the service and experience we had. When we first walked in we were not greeted what so ever and mind you, we were the only two customers there. The two employees at the counter were so busy talking to one another that we were never acknowledged. It was as if we weren't there. We walked around and picked things out and only assumed what the process was supposed to be like because no one was assisting us. About 15 - 20 min later my daughter went up to the counter to ask a question because again, no one was assisting us and her question was answered then they went right back to talking. Shortly after, another employee walked in to start his shift and he was the one who assisted us and made my daughters bear. I am very grateful to that employee for engaging with my daughter and making her experience better. For spending almost $100 this is not how the service should be. My daughter only turns 10 once and it should have been a special experience. read more

First time inside a Build-A-Bear Workshop today. For some reason I had always thought of my as a craft store in which kids got to stuff their near themselves, but I was wrong. IMO it is Less cool to have a machine stuff the bear for you, since you're no longer creating something but really just picking parts out to be assembled. We came for the "pay your age" deal for bonus club members. They have a thing for kids where, during your birthday month, you pay your age for a particular birthday Bear. For example, today, I took two 6 year olds, so each of their bears was $6. Now, as others have said, the bears themselves may not be much, but it's the accessories that get you. I did allow my kids one small accessory each, but the outfits can add up. If you want sound or a special heart, it is also extra. But, if you are in the bonus club you get emails for coupons and stuff. All in all, the kids had a great time. I don't think I would want to pay full price for a Bear AND get accessories and outfits, but that's just me. read more

Came to build a bear to be able to build something for the kids to surprise them with. The bins at this location are a disaster. Every item is just tossed into whatever bins, no organization to them. While looking in the bins for a particular item. My husband and I asked an employee (older man) where the item might be. He just said "what's there is there" then walked away from us. Employees should be helpful and kind. The fact that he didn't help us and didn't even have a kind tone, was saddening. My daughter has been wanting to do a Build-A-Bear Workshop for a year now. Well yesterday all bears were buy two for $35 accept for Star Wars. Her cousin was visiting and he wanted to do it also. She got a my little pony and he got a teenage mutant ninja turtle. I really loved that the person helping them build the bears was so patient with both of them. She smiled and spoke to them (not in a baby voice). They are both very big 11 year-olds, but they are still kids who love stuffed animals. Upon checkout the manager came out to answer questions we had about the stuffing inside the bears (one of the children has asthma). They are completely safe to sleep with. He also helped us sign-up for the club and asked the kids about their children as he gave each of then their birth certificates. We will be back again for sure. Today at Build-a-bear, while we waited in line to use our coupon, a little girl ahead of us was anxious to get a dinosaur from Jurassic Park. The employee working the line, Tom, checked to see if any were in stock while we still stood outside the store. He came out and said they apparently sold out. The little girl broke down in tears. Tom, having the big heart he has, went to the back to search for one. He came back out with definitely the last one. He had searched to find it. Made her day. Kristina was very helpful and knowledgeable and took care of all the party guests and was able to take control of all these crazy girls- kudos to her!! We celebrated my daughter's fifth birthday here and it was a blast! All of the staff were extremely helpful and made the experience very special. Other than the Bears in items being extremely expensive, they are high-quality products and they do really put a smile on your child's face. I believe our bear cost $65. We added a scent, voice recording, one outfit including shoes and underwear. and I want to say our beer cost $25 alone. But there are bears that are in the $15-20 range at cheapest. We didn't book a party here but I went with a small amount of family and let her pick everything out herself and it was still so much fun. All in all we spent around an hour there. The children are able to give their beers baths and brush their hair before getting them dressed. You also get a bear birth certificate. I'd recommend it for children 4-11. read more

This place is great! I've never been in a Build-A-Bear nor did I know how the whole process worked. I came in to buy a TMNT for my nephew's 1st birthday and the staff was so helpful, friendly and patient! They were sold out of the sound for the TMNT (The theme song) but one of the girls offered a perfect alternative by recording my own message/song and I'm happier with it than I would have been if I bought the pre-made new theme song. Out of all the Build-A-Bear workshops, this location in Temecula by far is my favorite! I commute from the L.A./Pasadena area and the locations around that area usually packed and are not attentive to what I need done. Andy I believe was the gentleman that helped me out here in Temecula, was extremely patient and put together 2 beautiful bears for my nieces as a surprise. I make decisions everyday in my line of work and have to say, to have someone else make the decisions for me was a real treat! I took my kids here for Father's Day last Sunday. I work long hours and don't always get to say good night to my kids. I wanted to get them a bear with a recording so they could always hear my voice before bed. The store was clean and well maintained, but the staff was less than stellar. The girl that was working was way too uptight to be working in a place designed for kids. She kept telling my kids not to touch anything and was following them around, super creepy and weird. I don't think this was due to COVID precautions either. She was getting very agitated and was making audible comments to her coworkers about how she disliked kids. :( I will definitely not come back to this store, the whole concept of Build a Bear is for kids to pick out a personalized bear they will love. They need to do a better job at filtering through their staff. If you are not a kid person don't pick a job where you work with kids. This has to be one of my daughter's favorite places to go for sure. We went yesterday so she could use her gift certificate to make a bear or animal for her and also to make her best friend one for her birthday. There are so many choices of bears and animals ranging from $10-25, then you can pick a sound or scent. Next you and a staff member get to fill your animal (my daughter choose a dog for her and a white bear for her friend). Then she gets to choose a colored heart to place in the bear but first they say a little rhyme with it, shake it, kiss it and make a wish. Simply adorable! After that they take it to a station to (bath it) air dry it and off to the dressing room they go to pick from a variety of outfits and accessories. It's magical and so much fun for them. When you are finished, you register your bear and pick their name. A birth certificate is printed and your bear/animal is finished. You can build your bear from $10 (with no clothes or accessories) to $50. If you register and get a club card with Build a Bear ( which is free) they email and send out coupons all the time.
