Came here for my sons 5th birthday. I saw online that there is a birthday deal so we tried if we can go and do it, which we did. My son got his customized birthday bear, choose his own music to put inside the bear and a little heart as well as the outfit of his new friend. The experience was pretty cool, my son had fun. For the price, I would say it's not so cheap with all the add ons for the new furry friend, the amount really adds up. I would suggest taking your child when they are one year old so you wont pay as much. The service was pretty quick since its not so busy when we came, not sure if its gonna be more busy when you go on a weekend or another time in the day. Otherwise, it was a good experience and I would definitely come back when my youngest turns one. read more

I love me some Build a bear...lol. Always brings out the inner kid in me. I try to make it a point to go to Build a Bear in cities I travel to and get one made for the wife or daughter. While visiting Boston, my niece and nephew looked like they needed new stuffed animals too so guess where we went? LIke alll Build a Bears, this was setup in a similar fashion where you pick which stuffed animal you want to stuff. You then get to decide how stuffed you want it to be. Of course, they always try to upsell the little sound or heart thumping things and the scented inserts, These would be great if you could actually swap out the batteries and renew the scents. The attendant then goes through a ritual with the kids to bless the bear and name them. Then it gets to the fun (expensive) part of walking through the accessories area...lol. They'll even sell you a drawstring carry bag or provide a box. Yeah it's a little expensive, but you know what? Kids are only kids once and you can't take it with you when you kick the bucket so why not splurge. Seeing the excitement and smile are always worth it. And for the wife and daughter? They know I'm bringing something and they always look forward to what I'm bringing back to them. Only downfall? My bed is full of stuffed animals... So if you're looking to spend a little money on your kids/family, this is a nice way to do it. My daughter walked in (during store hours and a little before they closed) to ask what age they hire. The girl at the counter had orange hair and a medusa piercing and was very passive aggressive. All the staff (including her) were on their phones, and she was very sarcastic. She answered her question and proceeded to say "By the way, this is a bad look for you, I wouldn't hire you if I was in charge of it." If i'm being honest, that interaction ruined all the good memories I had in the store. I found it disrespectful, not only because she was mean about my daughter walking into the store, but also because she wasn't in the position to say something like that when we were simply curious. read more

Okay so I'm not one for cute over-priced non-sense. I will say that Build-A-Bear helped my duff this past Christmas. We have a lot of clutter (my biggest complaint at home) and we agreed to limit how many gifts seeing as how we are having issues parting with stuff. We have also agreed to buy tickets to Betletlejuice on Broadway before the show is gone. This plan I came up with has shot me in the foot, as I can't buy several items in the hopes my wife likes it, but instead I have to get a couple of really good to exceptional gifts. This is hard guys! So my wife threw me a life-line and told me "I wanna Porg" but the pie bird they were selling at Williams Sonoma, which (sounds insane) has sold out and will be unavailable until March! The struggle bus has pulled up and I'm first in line. "Well they have Porg's at BaB" she tells me. Okay I'll get the stuffed animal. Damn was it a little pricey, but I had not gotten such a reaction before, so it was worth the money. I didn't get just the Porg (if you are confused and live under a rock, it's a bird-like creature from Star Wars and you need to get out more) but I got the Spongebob Squarepants pineapple house (since her favorite musical was Spongebob) and I got the porg an outfit which was a faux straw-boater hat and Hawaiian shirt with Olaf on it (discounted btw, ftw; oh and she super loves Frozen). The staff were super personable and nice, they asked questions and helped guide me in finding the right accoutrements. The girl at the register was very polite and it was nice having a conversation during a transaction. She even secured the hat to the porg since, well, they don't have ears for the hat to secure to with the bands. Will I be back? Probably not. I cannot say enough about our experience at Build a Bear workshop, Brendan was literally the kindest, most courteous employee I have encountered anywhere in a longgg time! My two year old had the worst tantrum she has ever had when it was time to leave and I normally would have been mortified however his kindness saved the day. I always thought the products itself were more expensive than they are & honestly they are just too cute! Make sure to go in on your child's birthday to pay their age for the bear! I loved this place so much, my boyfriend and I went to the mall just to get a stud for his nose and we ended up walking throughout the mall until we ended up in Bulid-A-Bear. We didn't know what to do at all but this wonderful worker helped us out she told us every step we had to do and then entire process made me so happy. She was hilarious, telling us we should give our child a middle name and telling jokes. I loved the staff and the experience. 5 Stars! read more

So far, this is my favourite Build A Bear location. It's larger than any other one I've seen. They have a new starter computer where you can add what qualities you want for your new friend, and the computer at the end for making the birth certificate has been upgraded too. The associate who helped me today, Fallan, was very friendly and enthusiastic. She was great with the kids. read more

I wanted to write a review on here, since I've missed the deadline on every 363738 surveys. I know its not the same as the survey on the receipt, which prob. goes to their bonus that everyone there deserves. I have not met one unhappy person at this location, not one! My daughter is so addicted to this place we have collected almost every one. The Disney collection was our favorite. :) I hope someone in upper management sees this...Shelby needs to be recognized for her outstanding customer service. I think she is already a manager, but she deserves a huge raise. I would say move her up the ladder, but myself and my daughter would miss her if she wasn't at this store. She always makes us feel welcome and recognizes us right when we walk in. There's two other girls that stand out too, I think one is Megan, I can't remember the other ones name but she is a manager, and even helped us when she wasn't clocked in yet. :) hopefully I remember to do the next survey on time!! read more
