Per request, the porg from BaB with the pineapple house, Hawaiian shirt, and boater hat

Okay so I'm not one for cute over-priced non-sense. I will say that Build-A-Bear helped my duff this past Christmas. We have a lot of clutter (my biggest complaint at home) and we agreed to limit how many gifts seeing as how we are having issues parting with stuff. We have also agreed to buy tickets to Betletlejuice on Broadway before the show is gone. This plan I came up with has shot me in the foot, as I can't buy several items in the hopes my wife likes it, but instead I have to get a couple of really good to exceptional gifts. This is hard guys! So my wife threw me a life-line and told me "I wanna Porg" but the pie bird they were selling at Williams Sonoma, which (sounds insane) has sold out and will be unavailable until March! The struggle bus has pulled up and I'm first in line. "Well they have Porg's at BaB" she tells me. Okay I'll get the stuffed animal. Damn was it a little pricey, but I had not gotten such a reaction before, so it was worth the money. I didn't get just the Porg (if you are confused and live under a rock, it's a bird-like creature from Star Wars and you need to get out more) but I got the Spongebob Squarepants pineapple house (since her favorite musical was Spongebob) and I got the porg an outfit which was a faux straw-boater hat and Hawaiian shirt with Olaf on it (discounted btw, ftw; oh and she super loves Frozen). The staff were super personable and nice, they asked questions and helped guide me in finding the right accoutrements. The girl at the register was very polite and it was nice having a conversation during a transaction. She even secured the hat to the porg since, well, they don't have ears for the hat to secure to with the bands. Will I be back? Probably not. Will I highly recommend to men struggling to find that perfect gift for the lady who' a bit of a kid at heart. Ummmm.... did you just scroll to the end here? Yes.

Build A Bear just got in their TMNT stock on Thursday. Already, they were almost out of Leo. Fortunately, I snagged one today.

One thing is for sure, there is a TON of things to do here. It was a little overwhelming for me because I wasn't super comfortable sitting around and not always seeing where the kids were (kudos to the parents who can do that). They're kids, so staying in one area longer than three minutes is impossible lol. There are different sections, lots of jumping areas, and many slides. The party area was packed. There were a lot of birthday parties happening. I noticed they have 9 party rooms, plus additional tables outside for parties without rooms, which added to how crowded it felt. At one point, they closed one of the areas because someone lost something and they had to search for it, which was inconvenient since that's where the kids were playing and were actually there longer than 3 minutes lol. There's also a lot of young (20 and under) staff working, which is interesting. They're present, but overall felt pretty hands-off, especially given how packed the place was. I also used the women's bathroom and out of 5 stalls, 4 didn't have toilet paper. The bathroom itself wasn't very clean and felt poorly maintained. When we went to get drinks, there was a long line and only one person working the front desk, so it took a while just to pay which cut into the allotted time for the kids. All that said, the kids enjoyed it. My son had been here before and wanted to come back with his cousin. He especially loves the soccer area, which was a big hit for him doing it is his favorite sport. I wouldn't say I wouldn't come back, but there is definitely room for improvement, especially with maintenance and staff being more attentive to the areas they're responsible for.

We bought tickets online for the 9AM-12PM block and some of the more popular rooms did start to get busy but you could easily go to another room if it was crowded. I liked that there were "trashcans" for toys that needed to be cleaned to prevent the spreading of germs. Bathrooms had step stools and toilet seats for kids which was great to see. There was a little room for kids to have their snacks as well. Check out the events calendar online to see if there are any special visitors/groups. The day we went there were visitors that brought crabs/hermit crabs and a project to make robo crabs. I do wish they had a water fountain or water filling station.

They have several small rooms filled with toys and activities for kids. I would say this place is best for kids 3 to 6. I also wouldn't want to be here when it's packed because like I mentioned, it is small. We went at around 10:45 and spent an hour there because they close at 12 for lunch and then reopen at 1pm. One of the rooms was still under construction. My wife and I were very pleased with the bathroom having steps for kids to wash their hands at the sink, a small toilet seat for those who are potty training, and a changing table.

They have a bunch of inflatable bouncers that fill majority of the space. Looks like they also have additional bouncy houses within private party areas. They have various bouncy house slides and also arcade games around the floor. And even massage chairs for the adults. What really was enticing was the electric atvs they have their. But boy was that a sh/t show. They really need an attendant for that area because a lot of parents and kids would hog and not take turns. The facility needed desperate cleaning as well. Crumbs and food was everywhere on the floor and many folks are also walking around with socks on only. We even witnessed a kid vomit and his parents didn't even bother reporting it to anyone. But it looks like no one cared to keep the facility clean anyways. Either way, we served our hour and...bounced after. This place needs to be more attentive to cleaning.
