Went with my granddaughter on Saturday. There was a typed note stuck to the wall that said they opened at 11 which is an hour later than the website said so we waited until 11. A crowd had gathered but still not open. Went to lunch hoping it would open by 12...still not open. Called Sunday but no one answered. Now today, the same thing. My granddaughter couldn't figure why it would be closed and make so many kids unhappy! Wondering if it will ever reopen. I DID NOT MEAN TO GIVE IT 5 STARS!!! They overcharged our Girl Scouts troop by $60. I called the store to see if there was anything that could be done, the manager told us they would correct it if we came back "not to worry, we will ring it up again, refund it and charge you the correct amount. I'll leave a note for the other manager on duty, I do have your party info right here, bring your receipts just in case. We'll fix it" I drove an hour there, only for them to refuse to correct the issue, refuse to help and just want to argue. The lack of customer service and knowledge of support was astounding. It's also very ironic that the amount we were overcharged, equaled the amount of tax they gave us such a hard time about... ironic that they incorrectly ring us up (by forcing two separate transactions to prevent the correct about to be charged) and overcharge us by the exact tax amount. Then have the audacity to act as if we didn't see the purposeful overcharge. (Prior to the event, we informed them several times we were tax exempt, they continued to tell me they "couldn't add a discount", I explained this was not a discount, this is tax exemption. The day of the party, I called and was given a total with taxes included, I asked about the exemption and was told they would add it.) They seriously need to get their management staff trained properly, if they truly couldn't correct the issue, they should've informed me of that prior to my two hour unnecessary drive. They didn't apologize or take any responsibility of their error, me being misinformed and wasting my time. They scammed our troop and our girls worked so hard for these funds. read more

This store doesn't seem to be able to follow its hours. I've gone twice to pick up an order and both times they have been closed early. I work on overnights in the area, but the first time I went it was 6:30 and the last time was around 6:45. I understand it's close to 7, but at least stay open until the time the hours are posted or maybe leave a note in the gate letting people know why you closed early. If I had know I'd have this many problems with this location I would've just done my pickup order for Opry Mills since that one is closer to me. read more

Went today and they were so busy! But every employee was super awesome and made it great for my daughter! Great staff!

We waited 5 min for an associate to help us with choosing an animal. No one ever came to help or even greeted us. We waited another 10 min at the stuffing station and some lady and her kid behind me jumped in front of me right in front of an associate, who just looked at me and kind of shrugged. No one helped us pick out an outfit or make a birth certificate. My kid really didn't have the experience I was hoping she'd have. Associates need to be on the floor helping out. There's no reason to have 3 employees behind the registers with 1 person in line and 20 customers on the floor. read more

We came for my son's birthday today. The posted hours said they were open at 11, but it was clear nobody was inside preparing to open. We called, and there was no answer. The hours on the automated system did not indicate they would be closed today. We ordered drinks at the Starbucks next door. By 11:30 there was still no sign of any employees to open the store. We called the store in Nashville and were advised this location hasn't been open in almost 2 months because they don't have anyone to work it. We drove over to the Nashville store instead. I wouldn't bother with this rating, but I don't see how someone associated with this location couldn't at least post a sign or update their phone system so families aren't standing around wasting their time. read more

Today is my daughter's birthday. We visited Build-A-Bear for this reason. When we walked in the store was somewhat crowded with several people in line to build bears. The time was 6:40pm. My daughter and other family members began picking out their bears and walking to the line. A girl working the check out yell out that they were closing and we could not make bears. She repeated this to another family that walked in with us. For this reason I had to make my daughter put back her bear. She is two years old and began to cry and reach for the bear as the cashier watched. A family member explained to the employee that it was her birthday and could we quickly make the bear (didn't have to dress it or do any of the other activities) or buy a pre-made bear. She heartlessly replied "no we're closing soon". At that time the store was still full of people, and it was twenty minutes before closing. There was also no indication that they were about to close (no sign, doors beginning to close, people cleaning up etc). We walked out with with two crying kids and watched as a teenage couple walked in and was able to get in line and make a bear after us, while three other families were turned away by the employee. Business was lost and we will not be back! read more

Working here cannot be an easy job. I took 2 little ones here on a Friday night and there were several little ones running crazy in Build-A-Bear. We picked out our animals and the staff couldn't be been sweeter to me and more importantly, the kids. They truly made the children feel special and make the whole experience memorable. read more

Will not return to this store. Today I went in to get a new dress for my daughters bear. The moment I stepped foot into the store I was approached by a very aggressive employee who was adamant about telling me how the store worked. When I explained I just wanted to get a new outfit for a bear we already had she continued to follow me, and explain the layout of the store. I asked her to stop, and she continued to go on. My face was visibly flush out of feeling overwhelmed and embarrassed by the way this employee was continuing to treat me. read more

My 3 year old daughter and I were in for her annual birthday present. As is the norm for us, her first bear, G Bear, was with us. While stuffing her newest lovey the clerk mentioned that she could restuff G Bear at no charge. We agreed and she, the clerk, carefully talked my daughter thru all that she was doing allowing, my daughter, to hold G Bear's heart and stepping on the peddle yet again for stuffing. As the clerk was resewing G Bear's seam she showed my daughter all that she was doing and kept her safe from being stuck. As we were checking out one of the other clerks gave me a ribbon to tie the cardboard box to our stroller. I am very pleased with out visit today and will definitely be a continued faithful customer. read more
