After we decided to replace the system, Richard was kind enough to come back to our home and walk through everything with my husband, carefully explaining the installation process for the new full-size HVAC system. We also chose to add a mini-split unit in our basement, and once again, every option was discussed in detail so we could make the best decision for our home. The installation crew was outstanding--courteous, respectful of our property, hardworking, and professional. They completed the job efficiently and cleaned up every speck of debris before leaving. June 22nd Comfort First Heating and Cooling called to schedule an appointment. said they couldnt come until June 29th. Not ideal but fine. Tech shows up on the morning of the 29th and says we need a new fan motor on the unit inside the house. Says the universal motor he has wont fit. Says it will take 6-8 days max to get the part. Says he put in the order and leaves. Due to the July 4th holiday I'm thinking July 9-10 or July 11th at the latest. July 11th comes and goes and crickets. Don't hear anything. I call them and they say still waiting on the part. I call AHS and they say the same thing. I'm given no eta on when the part will arrive. I wait another week and crickets. I call and get the same story from both. I call Comfort First again on July 23rd and am told still waiting on the part. I call American Home Shield on July 24th and they call me back and say Comfort First ordered the part on July 13th. Wait, what? It was supposed to have been ordered on June 29th. Miraculously I get a call from Comfort First saying they have the part and will be here to install it on July 30th between 1 and 5 pm. I make it abundantly clear that I have to be at work at 6 pm and that nobody will be home after 6 pm. I get out of bed 3 hours early on the 30th at 1 pm to make sure I don't miss the tech. 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 and nothing. I call Comfort First at 4:45 and the lady says the tech is running behind and is at the job on the schedule before me. She said he was finishing up there and would call me soon when he was on his way. I remind them that I made it clear I have to be at work by 6 pm. I'm told I can either wait, find someone to come to my house and wait, or they will have to reschedule me for another two weeks out. The tech finally calls at 7:55 pm and says he's 20 minutes away! So I've been out of air conditioning in the middle of North Carolina summer for 32 days which is bad enough, but on top of that i have to put up with being lied to, put off, and dismissed. Absolutely unacceptable and disrespectful of my time. I don't not under any circumstances recommend Comfort First Heating and Cooling!

"DON", our tech was very presentable, thorough and professional. I asked a few pointed questions and he was very thorough in his review and recommendations. Their price and "service plans" are very comprehensive and comparable to the "Big Box" services that will most likely not return your calls or show up. Sunbelt has ACTUAL PEOPLE that work in their office. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend their services.
