Mystery Mayhem Escapes was a mystery indeed because I had no idea this establishment existed. I enjoyed the facility, and the owner was a pleasant resource for axe throwing tips. Previously, I did most of my axe throwing in my enchanted forest. After one too many yeets, several maple trees ganged up and tortured me in my sleep -- leaving me behind as they ran away to find new ground. I would return, but one of the trees fell on my Nissan Leaf rental car.

All of us had a blast solving puzzles and competing to see which group would solve their room first. The puzzles are challenging and really engage everyone's unique abilities. We also had some time to test our axe throwing skills. Our group loved this too. I think that this is a great place for all types of groups. Hopefully we get to return for some more fun.

Rooms for gym classes, courts on 2 different floors, racquetball courts, punching bags, an indoor track, huge weightlifting area, enormous cardio area with elliptical, treadmills and bikes and even a ping pong table area! The place has ALMOST everything (except soccer). It also connects to the aquatic center so you can walk over to the pools, Jacuzzis, and steam rooms. I'm so glad I found the gym my freshman year! I was always super active in high school sports and making time for fitness was really important to my wellbeing in college. Mentally, it kept me motivated, energized and on a schedule, physically it kept me thin and ripped despite my beer guzzling and many a late night meals at Rosie's, and emotionally it kept me feeling like a strong, confident woman.

I have been coming all the way out to this location for many, many, MANY years; my parents' local…read morefolk dance group has a tradition of reserving the grounds, spending the weekend in the cabins and using the enormous, hollowed out barn for dancing. And there's a lot to talk about when it comes to this location, with its beautiful rolling hills and rustic facilities, which are growing more and more popular as people find out it exists and that they can rent it for various lengths of time. Here's my thoughts on the various aspects of this location and property: -The general location: This place is located in beautiful Pennsylvania countryside; absolutely a lovely place to spend a weekend! -The barn: The barn is probably the main reason the local folk dance group keeps coming on out; it's been "hollowed" so that there's no stalls or anything inside, providing lots of space for tables - which we set for dinner - as well as for dancing in a very large group. A fridge, sink and "bar" area are in the corner for people to use, too. -The cabins: The cabins - I believe there's around 50, maybe more of them on the grounds - are about as good as you can expect. They're wooden with linoleum floors - i.e. COLD. The showers aren't amazing but are functional, and the beds...not the most comfy thing ever, not going to lie. If you have a bad back, I'm sorry: the beds are not going to help it. If you have kids and you rent a cabin ask about the ones with bunk beds. -The lake: There's a beautiful lake here that is worth strolling alongside when the sun is out; in recent years management has even added a little plaza, presumably because more and more weddings are being booked here. It's a beautiful place to just sit and relax. -The playground: There is indeed a playground, although I remember it before the equipment was all replaced with plastic. I'm sure kids'll love it; I personally miss the old set-up, although I love that the basketball and volleyball court are still there. -The main building: Finally, there's a main building which I have not been in for a long time - the folk dance group just reserves the barn now - but I remember being a pretty cool place to hang out. There used to be a pool room and a swimming pool up there as well, but I don't know if they're still there. Definitely a nice place to look into for indoor/outdoor events, although since this is Pennsylvania countryside sometimes the weather just will not cooperate with your plans - it happens. The cabins aren't phenomenal but this place does have a nice rustic feel to it, so if you think that's what you want, check it out and book something quickly - it's amazing just how popular this spot in the middle of nowhere is becoming!

We started back last week and we spoke with a young lady, Heidi, who was such a big help. And very pleasant. Everything is so organized and it is spotless there. Even the restrooms. When we are there, we see a gentleman, Ray, working very hard to keep it clean. He is doing an exceptional job. We have tried other facilities and this one is the best one we have been to.
