He also broke the bumper clips that ended up being unsalvageable according to Bobby (owner of Platinum). He got overspray everywhere and broke parts that shouldn't have needed to be replaced. So an absolute waste of $500 on top of making the car look worse than it did before he touched it. I have been looking at getting it fixed for some time now and I came across Platinum Collision Repair and saw the great reviews and gave it a shot. When I arrived I saw a bunch of cars in the shop that looked pretty much brand new so I knew I was in probably in good hands. I was instantly greeted by the owner and I showed him the damage. He gave me a free quote within 3 mins of me being there. I took some time to see if I wanted to wait a few months or do it now but after seeing person after person come to drop off their car within 5 mins of me trying to make a decision in the parking lot, I felt that was all the convincing I needed, so I got him to go ahead and do it. I dropped the car off 7-25 (Saturday afternoon) and it was done 7-29(Wednesday morning). He told me Thursday just to be safe and I get a call on Wednesday morning at 9am that it's ready. That's including them ordering a new grill, new bumper and painting. They are closed Sundays and I brought it later in the afternoon on Saturday so really it only took them 3ish days to order the parts, do all the necessary repairs to other parts not being replaced, paint the car and they even washed it for me! These guys at Platinum killed it and the owner Bobby was seriously so helpful and did his best to get me right after getting screwed over and save me as much money as possible. He even buffed the overspray off my headlight for me and it looks like a brand new headlight now. The car now looks like how it looked when it came off the delivery truck a year ago. They did the job for so cheap too! Can't recommend them enough... so much so that my mom is asking me what's the address and telling me she doesn't care that it's over an hour and a half away from her after seeing the results lol. Other body shops said I NEEDED to fix my entire front bumper in order to repair it which I knew was bullshit. I actually didn't need to fix anything since my car doesn't really need the splash shield but I just wanted to. When I spoke with Renay, she broke down the prices for me and gave me an accurate and affordable pricing ($170 compared to $800 at other places). There were unexpected issues that arose during the reassembly phase of my initial service that were…read morethought to have been mitigated by replacement of a relay, but after taking the vehicle home I had a variety of strange error messages and difficulty with the car including such issues as unexpected enabling of the traction control system, messages to check engine that mysteriously cleared on their own, another service message that said to see the manual and required use of "limp home mode" which also mysteriously cleared afterward. I was unable to unlock the car except for using the key manually, and so forth. Upon returning to the shop, the technicians did a thorough review of the error messages and - due to a recurrence of battery related messages sprinkled throughout all the other error messages saved by the system - hypothesized that the issue was actually cascading from a failing battery. Although this was a coincidental occurrence in terms of timing, I was offered a really good quote on the cost of the battery and no labor costs for changing the battery. Since that time everything has operated perfectly. I am so extremely satisfied with the extra mile service provided by Sherrill Paint & Body and I would recommend them to anyone in need of paint & body work as they are hardworking, generous, and open about their repair process. Not to mention, the body work I initially went in for was completely flawlessly and the car was returned to me in such wonderful clean condition inside and out.
