Absolutely never use this company. I have called daily for weeks and even the corporate headquarters seems to be unable to reach this branch. They claimed to come to the property and fraudulently signed the invoices as if services were rendered. Spend your money elsewhere!!! read more

Completely disorganized company. We were customers of Aberdeen Exterminating and were very satisfied with their service. Rentokil which is the owner of Bug Out took over the company and has ruined it. It started out okay and then they changed how everything was run and how they did their service. Many times you have no idea when they are actually going to show up. Often they just show up randomly at my door expecting to do some kind of inspection or whatever that I had never ordered. We only get a voice mail letting us know that a tech is coming on a specific date for quarterly spray and if you want to change it, you have to call. But often the person who answers the call can only request a change. And it's a mixed bag if you can get the date you want. It's very strange. So consequently, I try to just be here when the voice mail says they are coming. And they started this practice of merely spraying outside instead of the inside of the house. So if I can corner the tech, I have them do the inside. Of course, they bill me extra for that. One of the techs told me they were required to take only 10 minutes to do the whole property which is ridiculous. I used to have the same tech come to my house when Aberdeen owned the company and now it's someone different almost every time. I can't request the same person who knows my home. My favorite tech left the company. I called to ask why he wasn't coming out anymore and they didn't even know who he was. Billing practices are backwards--they send you an invoice before they have done the work--sometimes before you even have a date for the job. And then you will get a past due notice! Twice! That happened to me and I ended up calling the main corporate office of Rentokil to complain. That was two weeks ago and I got nada. The only thing I can count on is that they will send an invoice. And the prices go up without notice. Someone called me to try to schedule a big job that very day! That wasn't happening. So I tried to schedule it tentatively for today because they didn't know for sure when the materials would show up, and would "call me." They never called and I called the manager and never heard back so it's a crapshoot if they show up today. And they are supposed to have someone checking traps and their "pre-traps" and were supposed to come back every 4 days to check them but that's another company that is now a division of Bug Out and is overwhelmed and cannot get the work accomplished. My husband ended up checking the traps. Trying to get in touch with them locally is impossible. It seems like they have people taking calls from their homes and are completely disconnected from any actual central location. They can virtually give the customer no real assistance. They can only promise that they will "get back to you" or "get a manager to call you" and the only person whom you can trust to call you back is a salesman or another person from their home. Or pretty much no one. I can agree with all of the other one star comments. I feel sorry for the techs who were part of Aberdeen. Some of them are very good at their job but they are part of a company that is very poorly managed. And this Rentokil group just seems to be absorbing all these small businesses that were successful and then destroying them by changing their great business practices or just overwhelming them with work that they can't accomplish. It is a big mess. Try to avoid involvement. read more

This company has the worst billing practices I've ever dealt with. Trying to get any issues resolved was frustrating and time-consuming, and I never received a clear explanation. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! We have been using Aberdeen Exterminating for years and were billed annually for a $250,000 termite warranty. I now understand that BugOut does not have or honor the warranty. I have no idea what we are paying for, other than someone to come out and inspect... We were billed this year, and after a month of no contact, we had to call to request our inspection. They scheduled the appointment without consulting us. We informed them that we were not available. They rescheduled again, on a Sunday without consulting us. My wife called in and inquired what time the technician would be coming. She was informed that they do not work on Sundays and that the appointment had been cancelled (without notification). We were rescheduled for today. My wife called in to determine the specific time (to ensure that someone we would be home). She was informed that someone would be out between 12:00 and 5:00. I have patiently waited all afternoon. At 4:45, my wife called back in to confirm that that a tech would still be coming out. The customer service rep said that yes, their standard hours are up until 6:00 pm. It is now 6:00pm, No one has showed or called!!! I will be finding a new exterminator company tomorrow and asking for a full refund for our 'warranty.' read more

I used Aberdeen exterminating for many years having great service. Several years ago the busines was sold to Bug Out. Thisnew business told customers they would continue the great service provided them by Aberdeen Exterminating. This has not proven to be true. Communication is almost non existent, they do not show up for service on scheduled days, not calling to tell customers dates have been changed. I stayed home all day on Thursday, August 14 waiting for someone to provide pest control service from Bug Out. No one showed up. Late afternoon I called and was told they did not have enough servie persons to provide servie that day and my appointment had been rescheduled. This was done without contacting me . Today I called and canceled my yearly contrat with them. I paid for a seperate Termite review and have yet to receive a receit for tht service. Bug Out is not a friendly, reliable or easy company to wotk with. I want nothing else to do with them. I just want a refund from the yearly service money I paid in January, 2025. Very unhappy customer, M Thomas read more

Terrible and I agree with other comments that they are possibly fraudulent. I have been getting charged and no one has been out here. I finally got someone to come out here on Friday and I got stung by a yellow jacket today. He said we did not have any yellow jackets on the property. I'm seriously considering going back to my ring camera to see how long they have been taking my money without providing service. read more

Bug out is wonderful! They have great customer service. When ever we need someone to come out and spray they send some one out within a couple of days. Their technicians are so friendly. read more

I tried to call them to set up service (given they used to be Aberdeen Exterminating that was used before at another location) and I could not get in touch with a human. And I couldn't even leave a voicemail message with my contact information for them to call me back. I went with Terminix instead, who had a customer service rep answer the phone after two rings. read more

I contacted this company to complete a wood organism report for my lender. The tech was 3 hours late (should have known then this was the wrong company for me). When I called him, he said his alert calendar showed 3a (yes am) for the time??? Wouldn't you call your customer and figure out what happened? Nope! Finally showed up and completed report. Told my husband it would be emailed later that day. Nope! Called Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Still don't have it ! The worst customer service EVER! No one ever called! Manager was suppose to call me. Nope. Stay clear of this company. Should have read the other reviews before I called them. I will edit this review if report ever received and a manager actually calls. EDIT: report received 7/24 9:33p. read more

Two weeks ago Bug Out called to schedule an appointment at our house. It's been eleven days since you said you'd be here. At least you showed up today. Obviously, Bug Out is at the top of their game or they wouldn't have shown at all. Don't waste your time calling to give them feedback. You'll talk to a contractor with no process to escalate calls to a manager or real employee. Pitiful. read more

I started with Aberdeen Exterminating in 2002 and continued with them when I moved to a new home in 2017. My service date has been the third Wednesday of the month these past 23 years and I've had no complaints. All of that has changed since they were purchased by Bug Out; the people who anwser the phone (who, by the way, are not local) are clueless and offer no solutions to questions or complaints. I renewed my annual contract this past June; when I realized I hadn't seen a technician the third Wednesday in July I called and was told that "the technician came the previous afternoon (Tuesday) and since nobody was home they sprayed the outside of the house." Yesterday was the third Wednesday in August; when I called the remote office to inquire if their technician would be coming, I was told that the service would be today (Thursday) despite acknowledging that the records show my service should occur every third Wednesday of the month. I'm still waiting for a "local manager" to call me 24 hours later to "resolve the issue." Bug Out is a poorly run sham of a company; I'll be seeking a full refund and switching to another service. So I'm not sure what this company uses when they "treat" or if they just don't do a good job but I've found MORE spiders around and inside my house now than I did before I had them come out and treat. When I called them back within 1.5 weeks of them being here to explain to them there is now more spiders and I'm not satisfied with what I already paid $110 for, they said they could come back out but would have to charge me half ($55) to fix the crappy job they did in the first place. Complete rip off. Should have checked their reviews before I wasted my money on them. read more

I've used this service for many years and always valued it. However, They have sold out to bug-Out and I will be leaving. They no longer do hourly appointments but, like, the cable companies and others, expect you to sit and wait for five hours for them to arrive by giving you a "window" of arrival. Also, They now charge you extra if they have to come inside to do a treatment. Since they changed to only treating outside, my spider problem has increased! They said they only treat outside because the spiders have to come from outside.... Hmmmm. I will be changing to a locally owned service. Update: my service was yesterday and, as they always have been, the service crew was very nice, thorough and courteous. However, I am still not happy with the changes in policy for their quarterly customers, I.e. charging extra to come inside and not setting an appointment time. read more

Great service today by Justin. He really took the time to spray our yard and was very professional. Much appreciated. read more

As customers of Aberdeen Exterminating for 10 years, we've had enough. Most recently, we were asked to pay for two quarterly services 1 month apart (instead of the usual 4 mos apart). Due to scheduling conflicts, our most recent quarterly service was postponed by two months and was completed in February. We continue to have issues with small insects on our basement level. We were told we needed to "get back on schedule" and pay full price for our quarterly service at the beginning of April. To spare you the details of what transpired, I will leave you with this; we've since cancelled our longstanding contract with Aberdeen Exterminating. There was no compromise on their part, although they understood completely that the fault was of their own accord. When searching for a pest control service, keep in mind that there are multiple companies in our general area. Do your research so that you can avoid our current headache! Also, for a company to leave passive aggressive comments on their most negative reviews (please see other one-star reviews) is indicative of poor business practice. To say Aberdeen Exterminating represents our community well is an entirely false statement. I'm appalled that I'm only now seeing what's really going on. Zero stars for professionalism. read more

I have been a customer of Aberdeen Exterminating for 10 years. Until last year, I would have definitely recommended them. Since they were bought out by BugOut, the service is horrible. I was traveling thousands of miles away this summer when I received a reminder that they would be coming to my house the next morning. It turned into such a huge deal that I had to speak to the mgr at BugOut in Sanford. He assured me that their service was better than this. I called three days ago to reschedule that service and still haven't heard back from them. Terminix called me today to schedule an appoint. When i called them back, they said they had no record of calling me (had vmail). Called Aber Exterminating and they said they called me today. I said that was Terminix not you. Called the Sanford office and they said Terminix had nothing to do with my account. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

So disappointed in this company now. We used them for 2.5 years when we lived in Pinehurst before and they were ALWAYS exceptional. So, of course, when we moved back they were the first ones we called to set up service at our new home. Unfortunately, they are now FAR FROM exceptional and it is very upsetting. The technician that came out to do our initial pest spray said he sprayed and dewebbed our problem areas, although we watched him NOT spray and NOT deweb these areas. After speaking with the owner, who was not friendly and made us feel as though our concerns were an inconvenience, they did send out someone to respray and deweb the outside of our home. When we received a phone call regarding this follow up appointment, the gentleman who called was VERY rude as well. Gave two stars instead of one because we know how exceptional they use to be, and hopefully can get back to, and the mosquito service/technician we received at our new home WAS wonderful. read more

Just did business with Aberdeen Exterminating b/c it was paid for and came with the new house. For $500, they sprayed for termites around the outside of the house, against the concrete. For comparison, they wanted $2000 to get under the house and treat for powder post beetles. The beetle spray cost around $200 that I bought instead. A local contractor said they had a reputation for watering down their insecticide, etc., but were okay for small jobs. Having seen the service they provide for the money on a small job, I wouldn't even hire them for that. read more

After diligently expressing my past with companies that do 'half' service sprays I signed on with this company assured they never meter ran their trucks, sitting in them while on site so it looks like a service was completed , I didn't answer my door when the tech rang bc I was getting ready for work this am ,,thinking I wasn't home prob I just stared out my front window and WATCHED their tech do this Meter run trick and then proceeded to drive out my driveway ! When I called the company all I got was , 'our tech has a different version of the story.' Of course he does!! He didn't do the service I pay you $70 bucks a month for and just got caught red handed ! Unbelievable! The lack of trust and integrity, I expected WAY better from the 'mom and pop' company in this county. Don't trust them to do your service if you're 'not home' . read more
