My worst fear came true. My kids were both exposed to lice from a play date with their cousin who had a break out from her school. I know it's extremely common, but I never thought it would happen to us. We are a very clean family & practice hygiene regularly, but I learned quickly that lice shows no mercy no matter how clean you are. If you're a parent, you know very well how easily kids catch things from other kids. I decided to take them to see a professional because although this is treatable at home, I felt way more at ease seeing someone who specializes in it. 10/10, would highly recommend. They were able to see me the very next day at their clinic. I had the BEST experience! When I walked in, it was the cutest salon. I expected it to look like a doctor's office, bland, boring, & anxiety inducing. However, my horrible day turned into an almost pamper spa experience. The kids had plenty of toys to play with & watched Disney movies during the whole treatment. It was so painless that they wanted to come back, HA! Anyway, Joseph took such good care of us. He was so personable, educated me on lice & answered my endless questions. My anxiety was high when I came & I left feeling so much better. The pricing is expensive, but I think it's well worth it. They don't just remove lice, they provide knowledge so you're prepared for any future exposure because you never know. They also provide a little after care kit & printed out directions for you to take home. Even my strong willed 5 year old son felt safe & even enjoyed himself. They even provided a sweet treat as an incentive to the kids at the end (while asking for my permission first which I appreciate). I would recommend this to anyone, THIS is the spot to go to. Thank you Joseph! read more

Sonia was amazing! Quick response and immediate service. Her work was thorough and gentle. Will never try to battle this alone ever again!

Sonia is AWESOME. She came to our house on a Sunday afternoon on a holiday weekend. She meticulously took care of each of my kids. They are now lice-free. This is the second time we've used her service and it's worth every penny. If you think her rates are high, it's probably because you've never tried to remove lice yourself. It's a pain. And if you miss one bug, you'll be doing the whole thing again. After having lice in my home twice now, there's no way I'd try to treat this alone. If you're dealing with lice, just call Sonia and let her take care of you. You'll be glad you did! read more

If you find out you have lice - YOU NEED TO CALL SONIA! Sonia was incredible. We discovered we had lice early this morning..I ALMOST DIED of the anxiety it caused me. I was referred to her service at 10a today and by 1015a we had an in-home appointment scheduled for 1pm! She was able to not only service all five of our family members IN THE SAME DAY - but she also was friendly and easy to talk to as we spent a few hours together :) She was so meticulous in her treatment and making sure no corners were cut or bugs missed! AND Sonia was full of so much helpful information on how to 'get rid of this' - the bedding, the cleaning, all. the. things. that I have never had to deal with before. I would never have been able to remove the lice from myself, let alone all of my children. It would have been such a nightmare and I'm certain would have taken us weeks to win this painful battle. THANK YOU SONIA! I will forever recommend you and your excellent customer service and care. read more

Sonia is amazing! After discovering my two young sons had lice, I called/texted late one night, and she was able to come out the next day. She was so methodical and efficient while she checked, picked, and treated their hair. She then also checked me, my husband, and my in-laws (who happened to be visiting from out of town), and treated us at our request to be extra safe. She was finished in just under an hour. She was also a wealth of knowledge regarding cleaning our house and the kids' stuff. SO thankful for her sharing this amazing skill with us. I likely would have spent more money and definitely many more hours doing this on my own, and likely with much less effective results. THANK YOU, Sonia!!! read more

I discovered lice in my daughter's hair and called this number in panic. We had never dealt with lice before. Sonia was so kind to come to our home the same afternoon and spent almost 3 hours carefully taking care of every member of our family making sure we were all lice free. I love that her products work and that she is so thorough. She also walked us through all the needed steps to make sure we took care of getting rid of lice on our combs, sheets, stuffed animals, clothes, etc Thank you so much Sonia! read more

Sonia was able to help my family out during our first lice experience. What a luxury for her to come to the house! She was very kind, very patient, and very knowledgeable with my son. She was also affordable. She checked the whole family for lice. Unfortunately my son was unable to tolerate the nit combing and picking the first time and she was more then welcome to come back a second time to help us so he could go back to his day care. (The school has a no nit policy) . She is affordable and I would highly recommend her! read more

Sonia was a life-saver!!!! First time we had an issue with lice, and Sonia answered my late night email and early morning call. She was so sweet and made my daughter feel so comfortable throughout the process. Sonia was thorough, used non-toxic products and helped ease all the anxiety surrounding these bugs! I would highly highly recommend her and I won't hesitate to call her again if we need her help. We were also able to use our HSA card, which worked out great! Thank you so much Sonia!!!!!! read more

Bug adieu was recommended to us by our daycare director, after I found lice eggs in my daughters hair. I called and was able to book a service for first thing the very next morning. Sonia was on time and amazing! She was so knowledgeable, patient and thorough. She took excellent care of both my daughters and I, after she recommended she check us all out. Turned out she was correct as all 3 of us had some eggs/bugs and she cleaned us all up. She took what was an awful horrible experience and turned it into a manageable, (dare I say) pleasing one. She was so friendly and kind and non-judgmental. I'm so glad my daycare director passed her information on to us. She even shared cleaning tips and ways to check better and sooner in the future. Thank you Sonia for everything! read more

Hoping to spend the day at the beach, our plans quickly got derailed when we realized our youngest had lice. We called Bug Adieu and Sonia answered and couldn't have been more helpful and kind. She gave us several helpful tips and calmed our fears and scheduled someone to come to our home in less than 2 hours on Super Bowl Sunday. Julia was AMAZING!! So knowledgeable, kind and great with 4 and 6 year olds and my old husband. Lol. Tjey were also affordable and worth every Penney. My brother who lives in La Jolla paid almost 3 times the cost for the same service with a different company. They made the entire experience bearable and taught us so much in terms of prevention. I highly recommend them!!! read more

Thank you SO much Sonia!! I can't say enough great things about your service. You were so sweet, very knowledgeable and really made my family and I comfortable with the whole process of lice removal. Unfortunately my 4yo son got lice and passed it to me. For him I just shaved his head, easy peezy no more lice. I am the only person in my family who would have been able to pick out the bugs, and I was not about to cut off my beyond shoulder length hair that I've been growing out for 2 years! In came Sonia to save the day. I called her on a Thursday and she came out Friday morning to take care of us right away. She checked all family members for signs of bugs, but alas, it was just me stuck with the nasties. She was very gentle, used chemical-free natural products, and was super thorough. I am now bug free and feel SO much better! I will definitely call her again should the need arise. Thank you Sonia at Bug Adieu! read more

I called Sonia from Bug Adieu this morning after discovering head lice on my long-haired granddaughter and her equally long-haired friend. Sonia arrived on her proverbial white horse by 3 p.m. this afternoon and worked on the girls for almost three hours. Dealing with their hair would have taken me ten hours, lots of swearing, and tons of tears, plus I would have missed half of the damn critters. Sonia was charming, patient, very informative, reassuring, and extremely thorough. She turned our trauma up on its head and gave us back a sense of safety and control. read more

She helped me last year and (unfortunately) this year! Sonia REhumanizes the entire process and her concern is communicated throughout each contact - EVERY contact - from start to finish. In June, I learned that she has 13 years of experience and it truly shows. She's honest, fair and obviously customer service is her top priority. I tried a different company last year before Sonia came out to my place; that experience was like comparing night to day! If I ever need the service again, God forbid, hands down, she takes the cake. Knowledgeable...reliable....caring...flexible and personable - that's how I'd sum it up. read more

I have no way of knowing this for sure, of course, but I just can't imagine there's a better, kinder, more knowledgable lice-removal specialist out there than Sonia and Bug Adieu. If you or your children (or both) have lice, hire Sonia right now. Seriously, stop reading, and call her this second. You'll be so thankful you did. For those of you insistent on learning more before you make the call, here's how our story played out: It was noon on a Friday when we received the dreaded call from school that our 6-year-old daughter had lice. My wife and I were both pretty panicked (that's an understatement actually --- we were freaking out) and really had no idea what to do or where to even begin. By chance, my wife stumbled upon Bug Adieu online. Thank goodness she did. Sonia was at our house later that afternoon and took care of EVERYTHING. Sonia checked and treated both of our children (ages four and six) and both me and my wife inside of three hours, and when she left the house, all four of us were absolutely 100 percent lice-free. Our oldest daughter had a severe, severe case, too (seriously, it was gross). She didn't require us to spray their hair down with olive oil for three days after she left, or tell us to take medication or do any fancy tricks. My wife and I literally had to do nothing once Sonia left. She stopped by again for a follow-up a week later and confirmed again that everyone was 100 percent lice free, and that was that. On top of her professional expertise, Sonia could not possibly have been a more pleasant person to have in our house. My wife and I were joking after she left that it was actually quite a pleasure having her there. The time flew by! By contrast, my brother and his wife (their children now had it too, thanks to our kids) called one of these larger, more chain-like services. They arrived at the same time on that same Friday and were still there 7 hours later. Not a typo. Seven hours. (They also have a family of four, and their cases were all mild compared to ours.) They charged more than three times as much as Sonia, took more than twice as long, and told them they needed to give their kids an olive oil treatment every three hours for the next three days. So, while we were out the next two days enjoying the weekend, they were stuck at home with olive oil-drenched hair. And three days later, their kids still had eggs in their hair. Finally, they did what they should have done initially and called Bug Adieu, and just like us, with one visit from Sonia, everything was taken care of. Again, I cannot possibly recommend Sonia and Bug Adieu enough. If Yelp let reviewers add additional stars, I'd add an infinite amount of them. The best part of all of this is the peace of mind my wife and I now having knowing Sonia is out there should this ever happen again. Lice is now literally something we never have to worry about ever again. We'd rather it not happen, obviously, but if it does, we know Sonia will take of it. Stop reading these reviews right now and book her before someone else does. read more

After using another extremely costly lice removal service that took 5.5 hours for treatment and required 3 nights of follow up treatments and morning comb outs, my children still had nits and nymphs. It was extremely upsetting and frustrating. After this, I contacted Sonia at Bug Adieu who was extremely thorough, calming and efficient. She explained it detail what her treatments entail, what to expect and why. She helped our family during a stressful time with a high level of professionalism, education, and responsiveness. If your family ever needs treatment for lice in the San Diego area, she is ABSOLUTELY the person to call for prompt and effective treatment! read more

When I realized that my daughter had lice, again, I panicked. I've done home treatments on her myself and just wasn't up for tackling it this since her hair was down to her waist. I called Sonia and she answered right away even though she was out of town. She sent out Trish that day to take care of my daughter. I had Trish check all of us and of course all 4 of us had it! Trish was so kind and so patient. She put my mind at ease with her knowledge and skill. Bug Adieu is a great service to have as your secret weapon. They also have a preventive spay that I spritz my kids hair with every morning before we left for school. I hope to never have to deal with lice again, but if I do, I know who to call Bug Adieu. read more

We used Bug Adieu when my daughter came home with lice, no one likes to admit their child got this and no one likes to deal with these pesky little suckers. Sonia was available right away, came to our home, and took care of the problem with no issues. She was fast, good with our daughter, and professional. My kids had their first case of head lice before Thanksgiving last year and I tried to get rid of it on my own for over a week, before finally having a friend help me. We thought it was gone, but come January in our new home, we found out we had missed an egg (or 2) and the lice was back! I called Sonia in tears early morning and she picked up her phone right away. She calmed me down and told me everything I needed to do to clean my house, which was far less than the stressful cleaning and laundry washing I had done the first time on my own. I felt so much better the minute I got off of the phone with her. She sent Meg, who was so sweet with all 3 of my kids and made me feel so comfortable. She was super thorough and quick at her job! She checked our whole family of 5 and even got our 2 year old to sit the whole time! It took just under 2 hrs to check everyone! I was nervous about the cost, but they are priced so much better than other companies that charge per person. Well, we thought that was the end of it, but a month and 1/2 later and another lice notice from school, we found a dead louse in my Son's hair. I wanted to freak out again, but I sent Sonia a text and picture of what I had found and she got back to me quickly and confirmed that it was indeed a louse. She sent Vanessa this time, who was so sweet and thorough too! She looked through everyone's hair again and found nothing, thankfully! I will never try to get rid of lice on my own again! We were so pleased with the experience and so thankful to have called Bug Adieu! I can't thank Sonia and her well trained team enough! Its so nice to know I can reach out to Sonia whenever I have any questions or concerns and she will be there to help me out. read more

We called Sonya after find nits and lice in my 14 year old daughter'svery thick, very long hair - a traumatic experience as a mom who has never dealt with Lice before. We first called a salon in La Jolla, who never called us back. Turning to Yelp, I found Bug Adiee and Sonya. Within hours, she was at our house and checked my daughter, treated her, and then checked the rest of the family, who thankfully didn't have lice. She coached is through what we needed to do to rid the house of any potential remaining bugs, and was reassuring throughout. She was back a week later for a re-check for all of us, and we were lice free. I would highly recommend her - I hope I don't ever need this type of servce again, but if I do she will be my first call. read more

I contacted Bug Adieu in the morning and Danelle was able to come after I got home from work. She was very professional and answered all of my questions. My daughter suffered a terrible lice infestation which required prescription medication (treated her with Sklice, didn't smell bad, and was very effective). I treated the rest of the family with over-the-counter Rid and regretted it. The shampoo was so horribly chemically smelling that I may as well have taken toxic pesticide and sprayed my family with it. A week later we all had nits (eggs) and I found a louse on my son, but I could not bear to follow Rid's directions and expose my family again. Enter Bug Adieu. Sonia came to our rescue. I called her on a 3-day Memorial weekend holiday and like a knight-in-shining-armor she arrived on our doorstep a few hours later that Saturday! Here are the pros: Quick, same-day service Over 10 years experience Natural ingredients used Experience with biracial hair Personalized and friendly Knowledgeable and professional Worked systematically, thoroughly, and quickly Plenty of verbal education Gentle with children Treatment covered by Flexible Spending Account The only con - which bears no reflection on Bug Adieu's services - is that the service is costly. However, given the manual labor involved and the pro's listed above it is worth the price and peace of mind. Fees are also comparable to other vendors. By the time she was done, I felt armed with enough information and tools to successfully battle another infestation. I purchased her $50 kit (she offered this but did not obligate or push me to buy it) which included a quality comb, treatment and prevention sprays... honestly, I will likely end up calling Sonia again. You can't go wrong with Bug Adieu. read more

OK, you're reading this because you have a lice problem; you don't need our horrible backstory. Looked online and saw Bug Adieu had great ratings so I called. Very friendly and accommodating service from the get-go. Julia arrived about an hour later and wasted no time getting all of us checked (dad, son, daughter). An hour later she was done and we were all pronounced clean. Great service and very informative as to how we should clean stuffed animals, sheets, couches, etc. Cash/check/charge. I can see why they have 5 stars. read more

Sonia came to the rescue! My 10 year old daughter has VERY curly, long hair and I almost cried when I found out she had lice! ICK!! I had so much fear about having to cut her hair, etc. I knew this job needed a professional!! Sonia was very kind and got here very quickly. I called around 11am, and she was here later that afternoon. She gave very helpful instructions on what do before she even got here. Her knowledge, experience, and gentleness with my daughter made her worth every penny spent. I hope to NEVER have to deal with lice again, but I wouldn't hesitate calling Sonia again if needed. read more

We used Bug Adieu almost exactly a year ago and it wasn't until a friend asked for a referral that I realized I had never written a review. Sonia was amazing! Very knowledgable and calm at a time when you are feeling anything but calm. She came to our house within hours of our call. She checked everyone in our household. Luckily only my daughter had been affected and she was completely clear after just one treatment. She followed up a few days later to make sure all was still good and because of the thorough job she did we have not had a problem since then. read more

Sonia was amazing. If you have a child with lice she is the best solution. My 13 year old sister came to visit for her spring break and brought some lice with her. Being a male with short hair I have never really had to deal with lice. I panicked and ran to the local drugstore in search of the cure all, only to be met with a lot of confusion. I purchased several products and began my attempt at a home treatment. About 2 hours into combing I realized that I was not going to be able to do this very efficiently. So I began the Google quest for a better solution. I called several salons and just didn't get that warm fuzzy; however, after speaking with Sonia at bug adieu and knowing that this could all be solved within the comfort of my own home and with everyone being checked I was ready to give it a shot. Thankfully my sister was the only one affected by the bugs and Sonia made quick work of my sister's very long hair. It helped put my wife's mind at ease and allowed for us to just enjoy the rest of our evening. Thank you bug adieu and thank you personally Sonia. You offer a great service with honest results, and the cost is very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend bug adieu to friends or family. read more

Bug Adieu was awesome. I called them in desperation when I was left completely disappointed (and totally bamboozled money wise) by another 'salon-style' competitor of theirs who was much more worried about their bottom line than making their customers happy. Sonia was quick to call me and give me some insights about lice removal and how her company works. She really has the customer at the heart of what they do. She was able to have Julia out the same day I requested service. Julia had amazing bedside manner. They were thorough yet, didn't spend unneeded amounts of time dragging out the process just to charge more. Bedside manner was amazing. Hands down, if I ever need this service again, I'm calling Bug Adieu. No wonder they have 5 stars!! They've earned it. read more

Sonia was absolutely incredible to work with from the moment she picked up the phone. I had just gotten off the phone with another company who made it seem like my head lice issue was a burden to them. She was able to make an appointment to my home in just a couple hours after my call and I couldn't have been happier.
