I'm writing this review to provide an honest portrayal of our brief experience with this daycare center, and why we would warn any and all parents from sending their child to this location. This will be a long review, but I hope the detail provided paints a complete picture as you look into this daycare center. While Kindercare has a strong brand reputation, as with any organization, the people involved are what make the difference. With the case of this location, the integrity and care of the staff (particularly the general manager) is severely lacking. Our 19 month old child started here two weeks ago, and from day one we could tell something wasn't right. At drop off each morning, the teachers show no interest in caring for the children, or getting them settled for the day. On multiple occasions I stood waiting for any type of acknowledgement from the teacher, while she stared at her phone or iPad for 5-7 minutes. Meanwhile, our child showed signs, progressively each day, that he was terrified of being left alone at the center. It's not unusual to shed a tear, but he would cling to us, scream our names as if it were a horror film. After pickups, our previously happy care-free child would only want to be held, was fearful of others, and could no longer fall asleep without being held and rocked for an extended period of time. This is just the start of our problems. In our child's first two days at this center he was bitten by other children, which required a signed incident report. We know this happens with children at this age, and simply accepted that they were working to fix the behavioral issues of the other children. Then the real issues started. Then, Friday of last week, we were abruptly asked to unenroll him from the center after what was a serious biting incident. What the General Manager told my wife was that this had been an ongoing issue. She claimed that we had already signed off on multiple incident reports, and specifically stated that the other family requested he be removed from the school. The problem is, we hadn't. I had done every pickup/drop off for him up until that Thursday, and had never once been told of any type of behavioral issue about him towards the other children. So, to gain a better understanding of the chain of events, I called the GM, who proceeded to try to paint an entirely different narrative, and even state that my own wife was misrepresenting what had occurred. Per the GM, she had told my wife several days last week that this had happened, specifically stating she had had 3-4 conversations with my wife in person about It. She also stated that the family in fact had NOT requested he be removed, though this was the primary point of her one and only conversation with my wife. Again, the issue here, is that my wife had only done pick up twice, not the 4-5 times she stated, so it's simply not possible that they're had been multiple discussions on this topic. Specically, the only pickups she had done were Thursday/Friday of last week, while I was the parent at pickup every other day. I asked to be provided these documented 4-5 biting incidents he had purportedly committed, and she refused. Why would she refuse? Because they didn't happen. When I stated their handbook clearly states there is no option for another parent to request removal of another child, she vehemently denied stating that was a factor. Again, that was the main point when she had spoken to my wife initially. Our conversation only confirmed that the systemic lack of integrity shown by all involved is shameful, and teetering on dangerous for the safety of the children. So, if you would like to send your child to a facility where they will be bitten, neglected, unloved and returned to you an anxious, fearful shell of themselves, while being lied to along the way, then this is the place for you. If you want honest people, who are focused on child development and care, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. read more

We love this daycare center. My oldest boy I went there for a short time but he loved it! The teachers were so nice. The school is very old but, don't let that deter you from going inside, learning about the center and it's staff. read more

This place is amazing. We have loved every teacher that our son was encountered. He entered into the one year old class around 18 month and still crawling. He was behind on his milestones so we thought bringing him to daycare would help. He helped a lot! He started walking and listening. We couldn't have been happier. The teachers take such great care of the kids. They provide a little day recap sheet at the end of the day. The cost was average of day care and worth every penny. read more

I highly recommend Buford KinderCare. My daughter joined this daycare since she was 4 months old. She is now 4 years old. I was very lucky that I had this caring team taking care of my daughter, while I was at work. They made it easy for me to trust that my daughter is in good hands. She learned all the life skills appropriate for her age and has become a very social, happy, and confident girl. The director, Ms. Katina and her assistant Ms. Janet are amazing and all their teachers are caring and responsible. I was particularly very happy with Ms. Mary (Infant class), Ms. Gail (Toddler class), and Ms. Latish Hanna. read more

My child has been at this daycare for about 9 weeks, we thought after our visit this would be a great place for our child to learn and develop skills. Unfortunately our child has already been sick multiple times, been poked, and has arrived home with diaper rash several times, even though we sent cream and specific instructions to use it. The most recent turn has been arriving to pick up our child and heard screaming and crying from the the room. Our baby is a quiet one, it only comes to that when it's a very last resort, as I entered I found the attendant writing out reports instead of attending to the children. I said it's only this one time, but now I've noticed it's been multiple times and enough is enough! I need help with some suggestions for another facility, and someone needs to do something about how they handle the infants here. Bouncing them from room to room so they don't have to have more than one person overseeing six babies at time. read more

Love, love, love this center! I want to give it more stars if I can! I second the comment of Beth T. on Ms. Katina, the center director. She IS extremely helpful and accommodating. + A welcoming and friendly atmosphere encircles this center. Every morning my daughter and I walk in, someone gives us a warm greeting. She gets a hug from Ms. S. and settles down with smiles from her current teacher, Ms. N., and classmates. Again, love, love, love Ms. N. She has such a warm, gentle soul like most of the teachers here. Another thing I love about this center is the diversity. It seems they have a well-balanced number of boys and girls as well as diverse ethnicities. No one is a minority here. Everyone thrives in this harmonizing environment. read more

We have had both of our daughters at this center from infant to preK, and we have LOVED it. It is hard to trust your 2 month old with anyone, but Ms. Mary is amazing and will put you right at ease! Most of the lead teachers have been there all six years we have been at the center, and that says a lot. Ms. Katina, the center director, is extremely helpful and accommodating. Great teachers. Not easy to find good affordable daycare with teachers who actually care. And my daughter loves it here!

This facility is clean, but unfortunately the PreK is just not the greatest. She doesn't show any enthusiasm. She lies when it comes to my son and how he is cared for after two accidents in class. She does not interact with parents when asked question, just not detailed, its like pulling teeth. Not organized. i love the center director and Assistant center director. They are the best, but unfortunately the PreK teacher sucks and is just not teacher material at all. read more

I know it's hard deciding where to send your child to daycare, especially in Atlanta where there seems to be a shortage of affordable options, so I wanted to write this review in the hopes it would help someone struggling with the decision. This center is AMAZING. The staff are absolutely incredible. Miss Katina and Miss Tamara are unbelievable people, truly caring and so nice. Everything is clean and the children are extremely well cared for. I only had experience with the infant and toddler teachers, but they too were amazing. You can tell that everyone there really cares about the kids. We unfortunately moved out of the area and were devastated to have to leave this center, but while my daughter was there she was so happy to go to school every day and loved everyone there, which I think says it all. read more

Moved both of my children there (2 yrs and 4 yrs old). Both children did not respond well to the environment or the teachers. After two weeks, both children came home and spoke about the teachers yelling, spanking and putting kids in time out. I personally listened to the teachers yell, when picking up my own kids. After 3 weeks, I removed them and found them a new / different place to care for them. When I called to let the Director know that we were withdrawing them, she never once sounded disappointed, asked why, nor questioned me on the change. She basically said "OK" and hung up the phone. They are good "sales people" but not there to truly care lovingly for the kids. I regret ever placing my children at that facility. read more

I have had kids at the Kinder Care on Buford Highway for 5 years. In the summer I often pop in unannounced. Every time I walk in this place I am impressed and grateful. This day care and pre-K is first class. The director, Ms. Katina, is awesome in every way. She and her team are always upbeat and cheerful. The kids are comfortable, protected, and educated. I consider myself very fortunate to have found this treasure spot for kids. This Kinder Care certainly exceeded my expectations. It means so much to working parents to know their child is in such a wonderful place, so they do not have to worry. read more

These women truly care about the community they serve. I am always a witness to the hugs and kisses my daughter gets when she arrives and when she leaves. She actually never wants to leave when I pick her up. My husband and I don't have family in Atlanta and I couldn't have asked for a better extensive family at KinderCare Buford. Sure, my kid was sick a few times while getting acclimated to the new environment. Sure it took her some time to make friends. This is a normal process for children. What is most important is that, when she didn't feel good...I got a call right away letting me know what exactly is going on with her. They pay attention to these details. I always get a daily verbal and written report on funny things she did, things she's learning, and what we can work on together to help her be her best. I LOVE these women. My daughter does to. Lord knows, childcare is a fine line of safe, affordable, and finding a place your child can benefit from academically.
