During the time my child attended, he was sick more often than he had ever been before. While I understand children get sick in group settings, the frequency of illnesses became a major concern for our family and ultimately played a role in our decision to leave. Even more concerning was the lack of warmth and emotional support we experienced. Montessori encourages independence, but young children also need compassion, patience, and emotional guidance. I often felt that my son's emotional needs were viewed as inconveniences rather than normal parts of early childhood development. The environment felt very rigid. The children appeared expected to be quiet and compliant at all times, leaving little room for the emotional ups and downs that are developmentally appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers . My son was emexcited to go to school because we take pride is his learning and happiness but by pickup time he often appeared emotionally drained. Communication with administration also never left much to be desired. Although interactions were polite on the surface, I rarely felt that my concerns were genuinely heard or taken seriously. As a parent, trusting the people who care for your child is everything, and over time my instincts consistently told me something wasn't right. Every child is different, and every family may have a different experience. However, ours was not positive. We ultimately chose to enroll our son elsewhere, and the difference in his happiness, health, and overall well-being has confirmed for us that leaving was the right decision. He has continued to be his joyful self and thrive in a new setting where he is much more happie! If you're looking for a preschool that places a strong emphasis on nurturing, emotional connection, and partnering with families, I would encourage you to ask detailed questions and observe carefully before making your decision to enroll your child here.

I was told everywhere from 9 months to 1.5 years. Because we didn't have 7-9 months to plan for a baby coming, our options were limited. My daughter started going here when she was 7 weeks old and she went until she was 11 months when we moved to NYC. The teachers were really great and my daughter seemed to really like it and didn't seem adverse to going. We stayed in NY for a year and when we got back, we enrolled her again. She loves her teachers. She talks about them all the time. The people who work here seem to really care about the kids. I also like the fact that everyone who works there knows the kids names even if they aren't in that class (pre k teachers knowing 2 year olds). The place is really clean and that's also important. The price is also fairly economical (compared to a lot of other places I had talked to) which helps. They only seem to have waiting lists for Pre K, but for infants and toddlers, they have an extra room so if they need to open it up to fix the teacher/student ratio they do.

The staff goes out of their way to help me bring the boys into the building in the morning and out to the car again when I pick them up. The daycare thing is pretty new to us and leaving the boys for the first time was a bit nerve racking but now I know, with no doubt, that they are at one of the best Centers in town.

BSKA bought the Montessori school our kids go to and it's immediately been a disaster. The prior…read moreowner notified us on July 4th, and then we received no information from the new owners for over a week. I just dropped my kids off to find that the usually pristine facility was just covered with filth on the floor. Like someone had just dumped dirt and trash around. A teacher was trying to clean it up, because apparently the owners had just left it that way over the weekend for the old teachers to deal with unexpectedly before the parents arrive. The new owners are rarely there and when you ask when they'll be there, you get this vague "we're here whenever we can!". When they are there, they skulk in this back room area where you can't see them but they can hear what you say to the prior staff. They're just... listening in but refusing to actually communicate. They're also changed things that didn't need changing to the point that it just seems like a power trip -- like no teachers have a chair where they can sit down for a second except one, hard, dining room style chair. The final straw was that there were plastic bags left around in the trash. They talk "safety safety safety" but are leaving dangerous choking hazards left around toddlers? Filth on the floor where babies are learning to crawl? This isn't even an issue of "I just don't like their non-montessori style." This isn't a safe place any more.

Ever since the Bakers took over the place has gone down hill. This is the only location they own, so if you need childcare try another location where Ms. Teresa is still the owner. My daughter was pushed out the door by staff over afterschool payments she was denied entry into the Pre-k program which is a violation by state law. Also, they don't allow parents in the building (another violation) what are they hiding!? Spoke with the state Pre-k dept and QR staff both confirmed this location has many complaints. When I asked for my funds to be returned, and wanted to talk about my child being assaulted by staff Crystal Baker replied "now you can answer the phone". After they got word I called and filed a complaint against them, I was sent an email stating I couldn't come on the property anymore. But that too was another violation because my child is still enrolled at the campus. Crystal Baker argued with state Pre-k attempting to disenroll my daughter because I filled complaints against her. As they let her know that was unlawful. My daughter has come home singing, "shake your dreds, shake your dreds, shake them" and says she heard one of the teachers in the afterschool class playing that song. Just disgusting to say the least. My child's pants were pulled down by a student in her Pre-k class and Crystal Baker suggested that the child not sit next to my daughter anymore. Never reported the incident. Please avoid this center at all cost! They are just operating under the Clarian Place name, totally not up to the standards the Clarian Place my eldest child once attended, try Northlake or Lawrenceville Hwy where they still live up to the name. Crystal and Todd Baker have brought shame to this once loved facility. No wonder Crystal Baker gave herself 5 stars and it is still a 3 star review center! Run away!

My son and daughter have been attending the Smoke Rise location for almost 3 years and we…read moreabsolutely love it. They learn though play and go outside every day, even when it is raining. They get to dig around in the garden. They are always treated with respect at all times and are encouraged to question and explore. The Smoke Rise campus is TSS' newest campus so it has doubled or tripled in size since we joined. As a result there has been some staff turnover, but the staff still changes much less than any school we previously attended. Their Reggio Emilia approach has my children feeling capable and confident. Why can't all schools be like this one!?

I was also concerned about the lack of education and stimulation my child was receiving at her previous daycare. Upon enrolling, we immediately were made to feel important and a part of the school. Ms. Maddox was there to greet us at the door on our first day and even gave me a small gift as a token of appreciation. At first my 3 year old was unsure of what to think of her new environment, but she adjusted quickly and has loved her school ever since. What I appreciate most about this school is the level of concern that Ms. Maddox and Ms. Givens show to every family. When we step into the building, every teacher / grandmother volunteer greets us with a warm welcome by name. Most importantly, my child's day is packed with creative, educational activities. There is not a second where the students are left with nothing to do (this was a major concern for me at her previous school, as this creates chaos in the classroom). I also appreciate that the school makes an effort on a regular basis to encourage parental involvement through fun projects and homework assignments. Though she and her classmates are only three and four years old, the teachers still provide advanced-level education that is still age appropriate. Every Wed. the kids take Spanish, and they regularly get science and history lessons, and are expected to stand up and present during Show 'n' Tell. I love the level of detail put into ensuring that my child has a well-rounded learning environment. For example, the students are expected to sign in each day so that they learn to recognize their names. The teachers are also required to read a minimum of two books to the students each day. The kids are provided with fresh cooked, healthy meals each day (not anything from a can or that contains a bunch of sugar). Overall, I love ASOE. I have not had any major concerns with this school's operations. This is the best decision that I could have made for my child and her future.

If we were still in Atlanta, my children would have attended until they were able to attend elementary school. Very impressed with the staff and the curriculum!
