March 6th he started a new daycare and when I tell you the daycare is a total 360! At Kindercare my son never ran to hug any teacher and he cried or whined nearly everyday I dropped him off! At his new location my son runs and hugs the teachers and tell me bye and waves to me as I go. He is so excited to go to school everyday and he's started communicating more. When he's out sick they call and check on him! Never had that happen at Kindercare! The energy was off there! Kids know because they can feel it too! Every single day they have lots of different activities and learning that they do that's uploaded in the app along with pictures. They also write a summary of everything they do and what they learned. Kindercare barely sent pictures and they barely ever uploaded reports! If your just looking for a daycare to have a place to put them while at work then it's cool but if your looking for them to learn and discover and have fun and enjoy themselves send them elsewhere! The classrooms at his new daycare are really large and they have two teachers at all times and about 12 students total whereas Kindercare have loads of students and one teacher! Anyway the staff at his new school is so amazing I wish I'd found it sooner ....they speak so highly of Carter and they treat him like their own and it makes me so happy inside that there are truly wonderful daycares out there you just have to look and not settle

This daycare does not understand how to work with any children needs or wants when they are upset…read moreand especially non verbal children with special needs. They will kick your child out for crying too much or for running around which is what they did to my child! Also their doors dnt lock so the kids can exit if they want.... One time I went to pick up my son and he was following behind 2 parents with 2 other children...he had made it through 2 doors into the area where the front desk is, so they definitely don't watch them like they should! Always wet up and clothes always inside out and backwards at pickup they dnt even think to fix their clothes! They told me after 4 months of attendance that they needed an IEP and evaluation for him to be able to return and that would tell them how to respond when he's upset and crying or acting out! You would think a daycare that has been caring for him for 4 months would have established a way to deal with a child when he's upset...however they rather outsource to help them learn how to run a daycare! If they needed an evaluation for children that don't speak they should have asked for that in the beginning for all non verbal children or all children of that matter since they sending them home for screaming and acting out from time to time! Mr. Eric also don't document incidents like other daycares to let you know a problem is arising, he just kick the child out giving you no time to work on things or find another daycare for that matter! Thank God I have the pleasure of having my own businesses and not punching nobody's clock as I wouldn't have a job dealing with this daycare...also a ratio of one teacher for every 6 toddlers is required however my sons class had 15 students and one teacher! Mr Eric is also not truthful ! He sat in a meeting and said that he never said my son couldn't return without an IEP which he definitely said on the phone he just didn't have it in him to admit it in person and I didn't have time to go back and forth ! Also he will keep your child enrolled which means daycare fees still have to be paid even tho he dnt allow them to return... while he have you doing something that requires a long wait time...he knew 2 weeks ago he wasn't going to let my son return he had every excuse in the world but didn't un enroll him ...such a scam! They so lazy they don't even document your children's food like they should or update their schedule..so basically the app is for nothing it be empty half the days and you get pics maybe 2 times a week...I had a meeting with Mr. Eric and the director Samantha yesterday and she did do everything she could to try and resolve the situation to have my son return however Mr Eric had every excuse in the book of why he couldn't come back with this or that and no documents to back up anything he said my son did! Ive been consulting with my lawyer and I decided to un enroll him today because he couldn't attend anyway... I should have known not to send him here in the first place ! After posting what happened on my social platforms to over 100k plus people most of the responses were Kindercare is not a good daycare and I totally agree! Just a bunch of people in it for the money and not for the well being of the children! Montessori was definitely way better! Not even on the same level! Reasons why I loved this school so much: - the staff: they really cared about my daughter and us parents. They came out every day to talk to us and give us updates on her day. You could tell they also were educated in childhood education. We loved our Ms Sheryl, Itzel and Kim - learning: they have a monthly curriculum where they teach the kids something age appropriate every day. My daughter flourished here. - Food: I loved that I did not have to pack food and I knew she was getting healthy organic options - coach: he made all the kids happy - community: this school felt like a small community. My husband got covid during our time in Atlanta and the school made us feel like we were cared for. They informed everyone in the school in a timely manner and sent us well wishes and food ! - communication: in the difficult times of covid TLC was amazing at communicating with us weekly about all measures they were taking. It made us feel at ease. Also, they use the Beightwheel app and updates us daily with pictures of her and her friends :) - clean. Friendly. Affordable. Simply amazing. He is a very creative child who thrives on stimulation and exploration, something we felt his current daycare was not providing. That's what led us to seek alternative options, and Montessori programs came highly recommended for children like him. Our first experience with Carlisle Montessori was very positive. We were warmly welcomed, and the tour left a great impression. We loved the homelike atmosphere, and the small size of the school gave us the feeling of a "family setting" where children could receive more individualized attention. Our only concern at that time was the small size of the classrooms in relation to the number of students. Despite that, we felt optimistic and moved forward with the enrollment process. We completed the application paperwork and were met with excitement and openness. Then came the enrollment form, where we were asked to disclose any learning, behavioral, or emotional diagnoses. We shared our son's diagnosis and emphasized that it had not resulted in any disruptive behaviors, something confirmed by his current daycare, where he's been for two years without any issues. We simply wanted an environment that could better support and engage him. After sharing this information, we noticed a clear shift in the school's tone. We began receiving phone calls with questions that felt more like attempts to determine whether our child would be a "problem" for their setup. We answered these as honestly as possible and reassured the school that, as his parents, we would not place him in an environment we didn't feel was the right fit. They asked to speak with his current teacher, and we agreed. His teacher reinforced everything we had said, sharing her positive experience and highlighting his strengths. The school then scheduled a 30-minute meet-and-greet, saying it would be the final step before enrollment. However, that visit turned out to be a very negative experience. The feedback we received focused almost entirely on the school's concerns, with no effort made to recognize or discuss our child's strengths. They then requested a second, two-hour observation to reassess whether he would be a "challenge" to their environment. At that point, we decided to withdraw our application. Throughout this process, the tone and messaging consistently emphasized how the school didn't want to enroll a child who might be disruptive, instead of showing curiosity, empathy, or a willingness to understand and support who he is. This left us with a very painful impression that our son's differences were being used as reasons to exclude him, rather than as opportunities to meet a unique child where he is and help him grow. Had they taken the time to really engage with him, it would have been obvious how joyful, social, and curious he is. Sadly, we came away feeling that the school is not equipped, either in tools, staffing, or mindset--to support children with diverse needs. The overall expectation seems to be that every child must adapt to a one-size-fits-all model, which is exactly what we were trying to move away from in the first place. This review is not intended as backlash, but rather as a message to help other families. If you're a parent of a child with diverse learning or developmental needs, we hope this helps you avoid the same disappointment and emotional strain that we experienced.

I went to a Montessori perschool and wanted our daughter to have that experience.Having multiple age ranges in a class benefits all the students for different reasons. I think Montessori method with student driven learning is wonderful for curious children. The student to teacher ration is 10 or 11 to 1 with 3 teachers per class. I love that this school is willing to push the kids to the extent each child is willing academically. Our daughter had been home schooled/cared for by close friends for years and was well beyond the PreK curriculum before even starting. The next year, when our daughter was assessed for kindergarten in a Cobb County public school, she scored high and was placed in a more rigorous class which pleased us. The teachers and staff also assist with social learning. Our daughter was a bit behind the others socially; most of whom had been in daycare or this school versus home care/school and were well socialized. Teachers and staff worked with my daughter and my husband and I and kept us updated. Also, my daughter is being raised as a Jehovah's Witness which posses unique challenges around birthdays and holidays. The staff was understanding, accommodating, and had a willingness to learn, understand and work with our daughter and us that astonished us. I have never worked with a more flexible and helpful staff. The Director and Assistant Director were almost always there, unless I'll. We had several tours including just stopping in. Montessori schools do not put their monies into beautification; they put it into hiring and educating exceptional teachers and staff. Please remember that when you tour. They treat the children and parents with love and respect. We were completely impressed with them.

After touring SoulShine, a virtual group tour, we were not impressed and felt that prospective families should know about the schools structure before applying. This group of facilities does not operate to the level of a preschool and instead would be better reflected as a nature based daycare. The director who toured us was over the Kirkwood location but we saw photos of all three facilities. The rooms were well furnished but the curriculum in each space was greatly lacking with a student-led approach focusing on centers rather than a structured teaching day. We did not hear about the daily curriculum or milestone tracking for our students development. The tours involvement of curriculum seemed to be focused on what they had in each space (toys, playgrounds, book corner) rather than the learning. We were immediately put off at viewing the Kirkwood location when shown that the infant room opens directly to the outside of the building. While I am sure there are safety precautions in place there is not a way that I could feel comfortable as a parent knowing my newborn could potentially be interacting with strangers that approach the building. We will not be applying to this or any of the SoulShine locations and feel it is a overpriced daycare option and severly lacking preschool option.
