He is a very creative child who thrives on stimulation and exploration, something we felt his current daycare was not providing. That's what led us to seek alternative options, and Montessori programs came highly recommended for children like him. Our first experience with Carlisle Montessori was very positive. We were warmly welcomed, and the tour left a great impression. We loved the homelike atmosphere, and the small size of the school gave us the feeling of a "family setting" where children could receive more individualized attention. Our only concern at that time was the small size of the classrooms in relation to the number of students. Despite that, we felt optimistic and moved forward with the enrollment process. We completed the application paperwork and were met with excitement and openness. Then came the enrollment form, where we were asked to disclose any learning, behavioral, or emotional diagnoses. We shared our son's diagnosis and emphasized that it had not resulted in any disruptive behaviors, something confirmed by his current daycare, where he's been for two years without any issues. We simply wanted an environment that could better support and engage him. After sharing this information, we noticed a clear shift in the school's tone. We began receiving phone calls with questions that felt more like attempts to determine whether our child would be a "problem" for their setup. We answered these as honestly as possible and reassured the school that, as his parents, we would not place him in an environment we didn't feel was the right fit. They asked to speak with his current teacher, and we agreed. His teacher reinforced everything we had said, sharing her positive experience and highlighting his strengths. The school then scheduled a 30-minute meet-and-greet, saying it would be the final step before enrollment. However, that visit turned out to be a very negative experience. The feedback we received focused almost entirely on the school's concerns, with no effort made to recognize or discuss our child's strengths. They then requested a second, two-hour observation to reassess whether he would be a "challenge" to their environment. At that point, we decided to withdraw our application. Throughout this process, the tone and messaging consistently emphasized how the school didn't want to enroll a child who might be disruptive, instead of showing curiosity, empathy, or a willingness to understand and support who he is. This left us with a very painful impression that our son's differences were being used as reasons to exclude him, rather than as opportunities to meet a unique child where he is and help him grow. Had they taken the time to really engage with him, it would have been obvious how joyful, social, and curious he is. Sadly, we came away feeling that the school is not equipped, either in tools, staffing, or mindset--to support children with diverse needs. The overall expectation seems to be that every child must adapt to a one-size-fits-all model, which is exactly what we were trying to move away from in the first place. This review is not intended as backlash, but rather as a message to help other families. If you're a parent of a child with diverse learning or developmental needs, we hope this helps you avoid the same disappointment and emotional strain that we experienced.

He began pronouncing words much better, he began pausing to think before speaking and would tell me to say YES, not huh or yea. What I like about Smart Toddlers is they keep you up to date about what is going on with your child and they are interactive with the learning they teach at the school. Their team is united and they get along very well. What I enjoy the most is that my son is happy. If I didn't need full time care I wouldn't have removed my son from the school. They really have become our family and I recommend them highly.

The Harmony school of Decatur is where my son started his educational career. Although, we have been gone almost 3years he misses the school and staff. Therefore, when time permits we make visits and give updates on how well he is doing in his elementary school. As a result, my child now has a scar on her face that she will have forever, thanks to a child at this school who has harmed others as well. I was told by the administration that the refund would be granted, but this never happened. I called corporate and have yet to receive a single call from the franchise owner, despite making it very clear that I wanted to speak with her. I have also filed a claim with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning regarding this situation. If you're okay with being lied to, paying money for your child to be repeatedly hurt, and not even receiving a call from the owner to pretend she cares, this is the school for you.

I was told by the teacher that she is great at activities and puzzles but she used to get upset at certain points of the time. It was told to me that being upset like this was disturbing to other children and so I should pick her up early every day. She only went to YCS for 10 days and that was it. The teachers don't know how to handle a 3 year old kid. It makes me very happy that I made the decision to withdraw her from YCS.

One of my kids was fully potty trained when they started school but the other one was still having accidents, actually the bad experience we had at the other school was related to his toilet accidents, which also caused that he didn't want to use the potty outside our home, but here at Briarcliff Daycare he had just a couple of accidents and that's all, he gained confidence and also, he is now using the potty everywhere. I can't say he is 100% potty trained, but with their teacher's help and patience I can say now we are in the right track and I am very thankful for that. This daycare is also regulated by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, which is excellent and they are monitoring the schools frequently. I enrolled because I was in a bind and needed childcare quickly, but there were red flags from the beginning. When I first called, I was told they had a spot, only to be called back while I was on my way to tour and told they didn't. Two days later, I called again as a prospective parent and was told they did have a spot for a 9-month-old. That was my first red flag. The infant room was dull and lacked stimulation, toys were reportedly cleaned only once a week, infants received no snacks, and they had no outdoor time. Most concerning, my daughter was frequently picked up red-faced and exhausted from crying. One day, I found her sitting next to a teacher, bawling and reaching to be held, while the teacher sat there emotionless and did nothing to comfort her. As a mother, that was heartbreaking to witness. There were also cleanliness and illness concerns. One day the daycare smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals, with a mop bucket directly outside the infant room. Another morning, 9 babies were crammed into the tiny room, many crying and screaming. I also saw visibly sick children with extremely runny noses. My daughter, who had never been sick before attending, became sick shortly afterward and passed it to me. The bottle situation was another major issue. They don't allow glass bottles, which I understand, but I offered multiple alternatives because I was uncomfortable with my baby's milk being heated in plastic. I provided silicone sleeves for her glass bottles and eventually purchased shatterproof glass bottles completely covered in silicone. Rather than working with me on a solution, I was told she could not return unless she had plastic bottles. They also did not consistently ensure she finished her milk or refrigerate leftover milk. Communication was difficult because her teacher did not speak English, making it challenging to communicate my daughter's routine, preferences, and needs. There is also a $300 deposit that is refundable only with two weeks' notice, in addition to a $150 registration fee. I ultimately lost my deposit because I couldn't bring myself to keep my daughter there another week. That cost was worth it for my daughter's well-being. What also stood out to me was how little concern they showed when I informed them I was unenrolling my daughter. The response was simply "OK!" There was no concern and no acknowledgment of my daughter's departure. Overall, my experience felt very transactional. I did not feel my daughter was receiving the warmth, empathy, attentiveness, and individualized care I expect from a daycare. I know everyone's experience is different, and based on the other reviews, I may be in the minority. But as a mom, you know your child, and you know when something doesn't feel right. This place simply wasn't a good fit for my daughter, and I'm glad I trusted my instincts and pulled her out.
