The hands-on activities and interactive learning environment keep him engaged and excited about discovering new things. Every time we walk outside, I am constantly getting questions about the sky, the moon, leaves, different animals, just anything he sees and reads. He is constantly curious and has so many questions. As a second-year student, I've seen such growth in his independence, he picks out his own clothes, makes his bed, cleans up after himself including sweeping and vacuuming if necessary. Mrs. Shahnaj is incredibly attentive and is always encouraging my child to explore at their own pace. The mixed-age classroom is wonderful for helping him develop social skills, and he is learning to communicate and cooperate with children of all ages. My son started when he was 3 and immediately Mrs. Shahnaj noticed areas he needed to improve on with his social and emotional development and started to work on correcting it. She also let me know things I can work on to improve his emotional development at home and now I can truly see a difference. We are still working on some things but there have been major changes. Montessori school operates differently than public school, which I love. The children go at their own pace and each child focuses on what they need to develop. Each child is working on different things, but every child is still exposed to all areas. My son has learned so much in his year and a half he has been there. He has developed skills I know he will use for the rest of his life. I couldn't be more pleased with the development my child has experienced during his time at Theami. Marika with the dreads and glasses and Ms. Andie. They are constantly treating us like we are the children and speak down to the parents. I most recently reported them to the state for not allowing parents to enter classrooms to pick up their children or even pick up their children's belongings and also for not informing parents that there was hand foot and mouth disease going around the daycare. I overheard the director ask her teacher if she wiped down the classroom because of how contagious the disease is, only to hear the teacher laugh and say "no". I have been yelled at by Ms. Lettie for walking into a classroom to pick up my child and her things and was told "i may be stealing other kids things" and also talked rudely from Ms. Marika for getting my daughter's jacket out a room. While in the meantime, im being told by the teachers that i am more than welcome to walk into a classroom to get my child's things! After speaking with the state, i was informed no daycare should be stopping parents from entering a classroom to pick up their kids or belongings and will be enforced . Also, the director is extremely rude and nasty. She only cares about the money and can careless about the parents. When she spoke with me she only wants to hear her RUDE employee's side and was yelling at me instead of listening. They will constantly call you to pick up your child for the littlest things. Called me everyday about nothing. Then once I had enough & decided to take them out she said she's going to make sure my kindergartener is held back because he stressed her out not because he cannot do the work but because he wouldn't sit down (he's 5) & do not give them outside time at all. Worst decision ever, Gods love is not in this building. I get a money hungry energy when I'm there. It gives "janky promoter" with the staff.
