It also fosters independence and my kids are capable of so many things that I never thought they would be at their ages. The teachers are kind and patient, but firm, and they really get to know you children and appreciate who they are as individuals. The fresh, healthy snacks from a local co-op are just a bonus. My only problem with the school is that it doesn't go past age 6. We'll be so sad to leave!

I have a 2 year old and 5 year old at SMS. My 5 year old has been attending since he was 3 and the…read moreschool opened. We were planning on homeschooling but I still wanted our kids to start with some school environment experience. Smyrna Montessori School was everything we were looking for. My children get lots of individual attention, are encouraged to explore and learn as much as they want and have had some wonderful friendships develop. There is a strong sense of respect modeled through kindness towards the teachers, classmates, learning materials and the world (cultures, the environment). The teachers love my children like they were their own and are passionate about the Montessori style of learning. Both of my children have gained a lot of confidence and independence since they began there. If I ever have a question I can set up a time to talk with any teacher. I'm always impressed with how aware they are of everything my child deals with on a daily basis, what their strengths are, how much progress they have made in areas of behavior, character and learning. I do wish they extended beyond the Primary program (3-6 years). I don't think there is any problem with illness any different than any other school environment. I don't love that the lead toddler teacher spot has changed hands a few times, but I understand that when a teacher has a baby she will want to take time to be with her new baby. This has been the only reason for teachers leaving that I am aware of. Those teachers have stayed in contact with the school and return for visits when possible. We feel very fortunate to be at Smyrna Montessori School and are so happy it opened at the perfect time for our kids. And as far as safety goes, our children are referred to as precious gifts, children are not allowed out of the classroom unless a teacher or parent is with them and the school and yard are secured during the day. I have no concern for my children's safety at all. Montessori is a different approach to learning than what a lot of people are used to, but for us it has been perfect. Oh, and I LOVE that I get an email and photos every week from each of my kids teachers touching on what the kids are working on and enjoying and some explanation about the Montessori process.

Little Linguists International Preschool

Little Linguists International Preschool

Little Linguists International Preschool (LLIP) truly has the "EX-factor". They are EXceptional at…read morethe service they provide. They have an EXcellent program and staff. And, it is an EXciting place for children to be. Our daughter has been at LLIP since she was 1.5. She is now 4. During the past two and half years she has developed a strong sense of self and self esteem, a love for learning, and a passion for languages. While we (her parents) are her first teachers, LLIP has been a phenomenal partner in her education process. EXCEPTIONAL - After conducting a rather search for immersion programs for our daughter, we could not find an institution better than LLIP - then or now. Out of all the schools at which we looked, LLIP best demonstrated the understanding that a language immersion program format had to be grounded in sound education principles and an adherence to professional standards. With almost every programming choice that is made at the school, there are a team of professionals providing input on what is best for the child(ren) and how that choice meets/exceeds what is professionally required. From the programming to the food program to the physical layout/resources, LLIP is committed to doing the best. EXCELLENCE - The qualifications of the staff at LLIP is outstanding. With the majority of the teaching staff holding undergraduate and/or graduate degrees in education or education related fields, the students are taught by prepared professionals. Beyond their education backgrounds, the staff is CONSTANTLY enhancing their knowledge and skills by participating in professional development workshops and programs. In addtion to their professionalism, no parent could ask for a more compassionate, attentive, and loving staff to be present with their child(ren) on a dailty basis. They sincerely care about/for each child and take a special interest in each child's development as a LLIP student. The school undergirded its commitment to excellence by doing the rigorous work to earn a NAEYC accreditation. They offer Spanish and French language options, with Chinese (Mandarin) for enrichment. EXCITING - The children who attend LLIP LOVE being there!! It shows on all of their faces every morning. After her first week, my daughter begrudgingly came home because she enjoyed her learning environment so much. She is the same way to this very day. LLIP is always looking to do more and to expand its capacities as an educational institution. Parental invovlement, while required, is truly a pleasure. LLIP actively seeks input and new ideas that it is willing to implement and/or try. The new school director has been particularly instrumental in working to create/instill new concepts to keep LLIP ahead of the game and moving forward. I would be remiss not to make reference to the two negative reviews on this site. I'm not sure to which LLIP they could be referring, but it is certainly not this one! I, too, was a parent with a child whose classroom went through a period of transition with changes in teachers. While we were intially troubled, the LLIP staff did an EXcellent job of explaining the situation, the planned course of action, and the impact it would have on my child and her classmates. The transition was seamless and handled well. Careful, consistent, and considerate communication made the process go smoothly. Perhaps the two reviewers should consider that parental perspective and involvement is equally as important in helping a child to understand changes in an imperfect world as the choices and actions of a school and its staff. Intoxicated while eating peanut butter shandwiches?! Now THAT's a baloney sandwich!! The staff professionalism at LLIP extends beyond the classroom. With each year the food program has gotten better and better. LLIP is a now a no nut, majority organic food environment. The kids may eat better there than they do at home!! If you are committed to expanding your child's ability to live and operate in a global society and to him/her being a good global citizen, start now, start young, and start at LLIP!! It is worth every dime!!

They took my hourly constant phone calls daily during her first few weeks with grace. They always provided me with good updates about my daughters progress and areas to work on. My favorite aspect is that I really found this place by accident, and what a great suprise it turned out to be. I love that my child is learning multiple languages in a fun, safe and caring environment. Everyone here is great, from the staff to the parents and every one in between. Another major selling point is the vegetarian option. All the food looks, smells and tastes good. I can not say enoughh good things about this place, other than its the BEST. period.

As a first-time mom, I cannot express how much peace of mind this school has given me and my husband. From our very first visit, I knew this was where I wanted my daughter to be. The amount of attention, communication, and detail they provide daily is unmatched. The staff is so personable, so connected to the families, and they truly make you feel like family. And let me just say, Angels Academy is not a daycare! If that's what you're looking for, you'll have to look elsewhere because what they have created here is something special. They teach your children and set the standard for learning. The children wear uniforms like little scholars, they host Scholastic Book Fairs, spirit weeks, school picture day and so many other activities that make it feel like a true school experience. I especially appreciate that their calendar aligns with Fulton County Schools, which is wonderful for families with older children. Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Dupree are true gems! They are so passionate about what they do, and it shows. My daughter's teachers, Ms. JB and Ms. Ford, have also been exceptional. They keep us updated daily, take extra time to create fun activities while teaching letters and numbers, and genuinely know each child. You can tell they love what they do, and as a parent, that means everything. My daughter started in June, and I had every intention of leaving a review sooner. But here we are just days away from November, and I'm even more pleased than I was when we started! She went from being shy to talking nonstop, and she's not even two yet! She can count to 16, knows her ABCs, colors, shapes, and so much more. She's even potty training! The amount of growth we've seen in just a few months has been incredible. I've never seen anything quite like Angels Academy. The staff is second to none, they make you feel like family, and they run a program that is truly helping you raise a little scholar. I'm so happy we found them and couldn't recommend them enough!

For families looking for a school where children are known, encouraged, and nurtured while receiving a strong academic and faith-centered foundation, Angels Academy is a place worth discovering. One of the school's greatest strengths is its use of the Abeka Christian curriculum. From the youngest learners in the infant room through preschool, Pre-K, and kindergarten, children are supported with learning and care suited to their stage of development. As they grow, they are introduced to rich, engaging lessons that build skills in language, phonics, handwriting, sight words, creative arts, and STEM. The curriculum challenges children to learn and make progress while the warm, nurturing environment helps them feel secure, confident, and excited to participate. Faith is thoughtfully woven into the school week. Children learn Christian songs and a Scripture connected to the lessons they are working on, giving them regular opportunities to hear, practice, and remember what they are learning. Each Wednesday, the students gather for chapel to sing together and review their weekly Scripture. These moments help make faith a meaningful part of the children's school experience. Mrs. Coleman, the owner and director, leads Angels Academy with commitment, professionalism, and a genuine love for the school community. Her work reflects a deep passion for helping children grow in every part of their childhood: academically, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and through character development. She strives to create a school where children are encouraged to become thoughtful, capable learners and caring individuals. Mrs. Dupree, the office manager, is an essential part of what makes the school run so well. She works incredibly hard from the front of the building to the back, managing her responsibilities with care and keeping things organized. At the same time, she helps maintain a positive, welcoming, and nurturing atmosphere throughout the school. Her dedication is felt by the staff, children, and families who walk through the doors. Together, Mrs. Coleman's leadership and Mrs. Dupree's steady, thoughtful care make a meaningful difference in the experience families have at Angels Academy. This is more than a school; it is a valued part of the community and a place where children are given room to learn, grow, and build a strong foundation for the future. I wholeheartedly recommend Angels Academy of Atlanta to families seeking a caring, academically enriching, and Christ-centered school for their children. As an early childhood educator and trainer, I truly appreciate the care and dedication that go into helping children learn, grow, and thrive at Angels Academy. The SAE School

If I could give this review zero stars I absolutely would. If your child is advanced or doesnt fit…read morein SAE's standard or box steer clear from this school! Seriously, don't do it. We were new to Georgia when we first joined SAE. We were originally told our child would be placed in Pre-K 4 even though their birthday is after the September 1st cutoff. Imagine our surprise after they took our money and we signed a contract that they put our child in Pre-K 3. Their excuse was we need to see if they can adapt to the SAE way. Thats fair enough, but they never moved our child to Pre-K 4, even after they passed all of their assessments. Nonetheless, she had a good teacher and the teacher tested her and stated she definitely should be in Kindergarten and not Pre-K for the upcoming fall school year. This we already were aware of since we work with our children at home. We had a meeting with the SAE administration and they refused to move our child to Kindergarten. Mind you our child wouldn't be the only child who has been moved up and this is a private education system. We are paying for it so the reasons that were given weren't justifiable. They wanted us to try the Pre-K 4 program since its equivalent to public Kindergarten( their words not mines) and then evaluate the move to Kindergarten. That failed miserably as an incident took place with the pre-k 4 teachers that prompted our immediate removal of our child all together. "When we called the pre-k 3 teacher that we had the previous school year, she stated she was glad we were done with that place and although the incident is unfortunate I'm glad your child is no longer there". Those are very concerning words coming from a teacher/staff member. All in all it has been such a blessing in disguise! After leaving SAE, we weren't sure what direction to go in as far as childcare since we knew our child was too advanced for childcare center or daycare. So we looked into homeschooling and co ops. Prior to placement they tested our child and they tested on a 1st grade level! Here we are advocating for our child to be in kindergarten and we should have been advocating for 1st grade! Imagine if we would have stayed at SAE. We would be doing a disservice to our child as they would be in Pre-K 4 and not learning on the level they should be. Again if your child operates outside of the standard or on an advanced level do not send your child to SAE. Just for safety concerns alone, dont send your child here. Always ask your child how their day was and listen to them. Actively listen to them, had we not done so our child would still be here. Thank God our child spoke up!
