My child started at LLL when he was 2 months old. He was here for 2 weeks only before I felt the need to move him. I don't know if the same person is still there (wish I knew her name) but, at the time, the morning teacher who was in the infant room was unpleasant and always looking mean. I spoke with the infant room teachers about my wishes for feeding. However, they seemed to do as they pleased. My main concern was that my infant was having a bottle stuck in his mouth whenever he cried, which was reinforcing bad behaviors and affecting the schedule I was trying to establish. The morning teacher would also constantly report on his daily logs that he cried all day, however, I would hear from others that he did well and did not cry. After I didn't see any changes, I shared my issues about feeding with the asst director. Then the morning teacher became more unpleasant. Every morning, I'm supposed to feel comfortable handing my infant to someone who couldn't so much as smile or say hello to me... but who said hello to others around me. I also hated that they make you stand outside of the door and that parents aren't even allowed in the infant room. I can understand issues of stepping on the carpet with shoes due to infants being on the floor. However, if I recall there was an area of tile where the infants do not crawl. I have been to other places that allowed parents in up to a certain point or that provide the shoe covers for parents. Not being allowed in plus the teacher's steel demeanor gave this center a very cold feel. I would pick my son up in the afternoon and he would seem so mellow when he is naturally a very happy baby who smiles all the time. He clearly was not feeling her either. Now when I drop him off at daycare, he will barely let me kiss him goodbye before he's jumping into his teacher's arms.
Recently, I called to get info from the center to do my taxes. In my opinion, the guy who I spoke to (owner) is clearly unable to tell the truth (I won't say liar). He promised to email the info I needed but did not. I checked back a second time and he told me he would but parents are coming in. I called back a third time a couple hours later and was told that he was gone. Initially, when we spoke he was telling me about people filing incorrect amounts that they didn't pay so they don't like giving tax info over the phone. I explained that I am no longer in the area and could not easily drop by to pick a piece of paper up. Which is why he agreed to email it. He started questioning me about the total amount that I'm reporting and seemed to be trying to insinuate that I was trying to commit tax fraud. Which I guess is why he wouldn't email the info. But I paid money to them and have the right to claim what I paid. I didn't see the difference between whether they gave me the EIN # via phone, email, or in person. How is that stopping anyone from reporting whatever they want to report? And who is he, the IRS? Either way I did not appreciate the way he handled it. I can see that I made the right decision in taking my child from this place. read more
