Luella Academy is the best place to take your child(ren) for a fun, nurturing, learning environment. The Directors, Teachers, and Staff are the best around and they go out of their way to make your child--and you--feel welcome. They have a way of making you feel like part of the "Luella Family" and not just a paying customer like some of the other places we have visited/attended. Even teachers from other classes make it a point to speak to parents and students as they pass by in the halls. It truly feels like a "family-oriented" environment. We have 13-month old twins and they can certainly be a handful at times! They love their teachers and when they see the car seats in the morning they practically dive into them! First of all, I am appalled at the negative review I just read about this place! I toured at Luella Academy with Shannon, the "caucasian lady with short brunette hair," and received the utmost of customer service and information from her. She gave me a warm welcome as soon as I walked in the front door and answered any and every question I had. She showed me the building, explained the curriculum, and all of their sanitation routines. I was highly pleased with the morale of the building and the attitudes of the teachers. If you are considering enrolling your child in this daycare DO NOT. In the past year alone my child has been a victim of gross neglect. She has suffered a concussion, been tackled by a child that was not supposed to be in her class, suffered from bite marks, and most recently got her toe nail ripped off of her foot! Not to mention the school was targeted by a gang due to a deal gone wrong with a teacher. No solution has been given to us on why these occurrences happen so frequently. We will be taking our child out of this school and advice anyone considering this place to run away and not look back. read more

I just want to start by saying the staff there is friendly and so helpful! I was nervous when I first had to put my daughter in childcare; she's only one. She loves it though. She always runs to the teachers and other children. Its a huge relief that I can feel good about who has my daughter while I'm working. They include a daily report about my daughter as well so I know everything she's ate and drank for the day. It is very helpful. Sunbrook at Luella is the BEST thing that could have ever happened to my family and I. The hardest part of having our precious jewel {Jade} was the transition back to work; however, knowing that she was in good hands made it worth while. The fact that my 4 month old lights up when she see Ms. Tyra R. is the highlight of my day and seals my confidence that Sunbrook was destined to be in her future (Way to go Ms. Tyra R. When we moved to McDonough, we had no idea which daycare to use. We spent several evenings after work touring several daycares and our family (with one vote per person) ended up unanimously picking Luella Academy (even after registering at a different daycare first). Luella is a friendly environment and both of my children (8 and 4) really like it there! The teachers have been really great and the staff at the front has been nice (although, I don't deal with them much). The second kid discount is much appreciated. read more

My daughter has been attending Sunbrook Academy at Luella for 6 years now. She has made so many friends and has learned so much. The teachers are incredible! I definitely recommend this center over any other in the area. You can go to work and not have to worry if your child is being taken care of because you get reports throughout the day. I also LOVE the new menu since switching to Sunbrook academy filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Amazing job keep up the great work. read more

My son has gone to Luella Academy for 2 years now. He receives tons of love and attention as well as the other infants in his room. The staff make you feel so comfortable and at ease leaving your child there. The daycare has been redone since we've been there and looks amazing! I absolutely LOVE Luella Academy! My 3 year old daughter has been going there for a little over 2 years and she has learned so much and really loves her teachers! The teachers/staff are excellent!
