AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Completely disappointed. Lost a loyal customer! Normally I order by phone or in store but tonight I wasn't able to. Tonight was the first night I've ever used their online ordering system and I will not be using it again or going to Buffo's period. Not only did they bring me the wrong pizza, they insisted that is what I ordered. I ordered a cheese pizza online and was brought a pizza with mushrooms, peppers, and onions instead. When I mentioned it to the delivery boy he called his manager and his manager told him that what was on my order. It's not my fault the system replaced the pizza I ordered. When I asked to exchange the pizza, I was told since it was online I would have to order another one from there, without a refund from the first one (spend two as much money for something that was not my fault). Manager should be spoken to about complaint resolution. I will now head to the Silo or Slyce Coal Fired for pizza. They should thank you for my business. I recommend speaking with employees about creating better understandings of customer complaints and resolution before this becomes your reputation. read more

While I would rate this place average, sometimes average is just the right thing. Buffo's is great for a late night meal or a large group on a budget. It was certainly the perfect place to stop and grab a bite when Pumpkin fest was wrapping up. While most think of Buffo's as a pizza place, I'm not a fan of the pizza. Being an east coaster this thin crust tastes like cardboard to me. I do really enjoy their burgers and fries! A half order of the fries is large and a whole one, ginormous. Lenny, the owner is super nice and does a terrific job hosting the Lions Club, twice a month on Thursdays! He offers a nice diverse menu and helps out a truly worthwhile club. read more

This place is good for excellent thin crust pizza. I have been here a handful of times mainly for pizza. It's one of my favorite thin crust pizza joints. It tastes delicious. I like their Zesty Italian and Cajun Chicken specialty pizzas a lot. To me it's one of the best pizzas in the northern 'burbs and greater Chicagoland area. It's done just right. It may not seem anything special but it's quite flavorful. But otherwise pretty good. I like their chilli, the hot sauce collection they have and beer selection. My dislike is their prices and small slices. They are a bit pricey for the size of pizza they offer. But otherwise it's pretty good. Go check it out if you like thin crust pizza. read more

SO GOOD! So my boyfriend lives in Highwood and raves about Buffo's, and although i think he is great he definitely doesn't have the most discerning taste when it comes to food. So when we finally ordered a pizza for pickup together i was expecting just a pizza; definitelysomething tasty (i mean hello, its still pizza!) but definitely not anything special. But boy was i wrong! Buffo's was so tasty and perfect. It had the perfect amount of crust, not to mention the greatest thickness of crust. Buffos is great drunk food, and I mean that in a really positive way. It just totally reminds me of the lots-of-topping, thin-crust stuff we used to like to eat during late nights in college. Of course, now I eat this kind of pizza in broad daylight, and do so happily. It's not fancy, but it's plenty of fun. But stick to the pizza-- we went against our best judgment and also got a salad, and it was just... really sad. But still go there! the pizza is great! I'm pretty new to hanging out in the Highland Park/Highwood area, but Buffo's definitely makes me want to stick around! Had dinner there with the BF and his parents, everything on the table looked delicious. The spread included italian beef, pasta with meat sauce, and an Ollie's special pizza for me (full of veggies) The pizza was perfect. The crust is thin and crispy, and the cheese to veggie to sauce ratio was spot on. I also like that they offer individual pizzas (even though I still only ate half.) The atmosphere at Buffo's is casual, order and pay at the counter, they'll bring the food to you. Seems like it would be a great place to catch a game on TV, meet up with friends for drinks and dinner, or just have a casual meal. What impressed me most about Buffo's? The wall of condiments. This is a really good pizza. It has a crispy crust that never got soggy! Toppings were generous but not overwhelming. We went around 5 on a Friday and by the time we left, the place was jammed. Got to try their other menu items. We will definitely return. Sooner than later :) read more

My friend and I were done eating and we were just talking and the staff started picking up the chairs and getting ready to close. So, we were going to get ready to leave and then this very rude white employee told us to leave very rudely and said we weren't eating anything, but we ate earlier. He also didn't bother telling the other people in the restaurant, who were white, to leave. I confronted him and said that was bad service and he very rudely did not care at all. He said "I'll see you on yelp" I asked for his name and he said Will but not sure if that's his actual name. I came to Buffo's after a commercial I saw on YouTube. My family and myself drove from Chicago to try the double decker pizza. When we walked in, we did not know we had to order and a number was going to be provided and also to get your own soda and pitchers. When my family sat in the table we put the number provided visible. After ordering onion rings and fries, server brought it to the table and one of my family members asked if there was ketchup. Server kindly smiled and stated that it will be right up. Other server in a rude manner told her to tell us to get up and get it ourselves. This was the first time and when I first order my pizza, that was not explained to us. We asked the server another question and we got ignored. We got our pizza which was also burned. After finishing our pizza we were planning on placing another order, when we heard the rude server tell a couple that they had to leave because the room was reserved for a party. We didn't try the pizza which we heard is what they're known for so we may come back one more time for that. However, the rest of the experience was pretty sub par for Highwood. The service is great and the people are friendly. However the food is pretty basic. Had the Italian Beef which was on par with any standard Italian beef - again, not anything I'd write home about. The wings are fried with a crispy batter which is not how I do wings. The mild sauce basically meant no sauce at all. The starter salad was generic and the Mac and cheese was standard. Kids were happy with fish sticks and fries. Probably a great place for large groups of kids or after the soccer game but not much more than that. read more

My medium swiss burger was very rare, my buddy's cheddar burger came with no cheese and our fries came out after we went to ask where they were, just in time for dessert. The food here is really good, the Management and Staff are professional and courteous...if you are courteous to them! I can't say that the staff are very friendly or personable at this restaurant. We ordered some food for delivery and were told the minimum amount to spend was $17.00... we spent $16.45 (we order from them almost every Friday night). We've never had a problem today and I told that to the girl, so she let it go. But upon the arrival of our delivery we were informed by the driving that the manager said in the future they won't deliver if it's below $17.00!! REALLY!!?? Your willing to lose a customer over $.15 cents...WOW is all I can say, but then again it doesn't really surprise me!! They've always had a shitty customer service staff there...Needless to say they just lost a customer who usually orders at least once a week!! It's a Highwood tradition! I have been coming here since I could eat pizza and what can I say the pizza is great. It is a family friendly environment that has good food for everyone. There are plenty of tables and seats inside and on a nice day there is seating outside. The place is welcoming to sports fans with TV's viewable from just about any seat in the place. Most important, the pizza is really good. They use good cheese, good spices, and because it the pizza has a great flavor. I highly recommend taking the family out to Buffo's! read more

Ive been eating here since I was in little league. It's always nice to see the Galaga machine still in working order! The food here is awesome.
