Popped in here because we had just done a full day in Sintra (going from and returning to Rossio…read morestation right next to this place) without stopping for lunch, so we were pretty hungry.
This place has some decent meats... fish was good, but could use more sauce (also, has lots of bones so be prepared). Grilled meats were better than expected for the price (had chicken legs, sliced beef, and sausages.) Soup wasn't bad...
Service was fine and pretty friendly. Also, at 6:30, the place was pretty empty (but maybe that's because their promo price of less than 8 euros per person goes up to about 9 euros after 6 pm), so no problem getting a seat.
Also had a 1 liter pitcher of red sangria, which was pretty decent.
My only complaints would be (1) the food is pretty salty (but this is true of almost every restaurant in Portugal), (2) they could have had better veggie/salad bar selections. There was pretty much no warm/cooked vegetables on offer (I believe some cooked sliced carrots were the only option!)... other than that, the only options were cold chopped veggies (lettuce, green bell pepper, onion, or tomato) or beans (black or garbanzo.)
Even some cooked green beans or cauliflower or squash or something would have been nice. I do think they offer those sometimes, but none when we went there, which was disappointing since we were really craving some vegetables with the meal (I would have given this place 4 stars if they had served some.)
