Was riding through St. Cloud and looked up buffets, I saw Buffet City looked It up on Yelp and it didn't have really good reviews, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I honestly had a good experience. The waitresses were very nice and out of all the food that I tried considering I had about two plates and some desserts. The only thing I did not like was their egg drop soup which was kind of bland, and their sweet-and-sour chicken because it was dry but everything else I ate was very fresh and had great flavor. I would recommend coming here if you'd like to eat a good variety of Buffay food the hibachi seem very good too and I forgot to take a picture of their sushi station our bill was about $40 that's including our drinks for two people on a Sunday, but I will definitely come back! I've complained about this many times to no avail. We came early so the food was at its most fresh and it still was pretty disappointing. This place used to be better now the quality has gone down. With that said I give it some point on value. The prices are decent for what you get and for those that need to get buffets gluttony feeling it should do the trick. Overall it was okay. I don't plan on running back here but I've been to way better buffets in my lifetime. The prices are great, but I would like to see a better selection of menu options. I would also highly suggest that each item has a clear sign of what it is so that no body has to guess if the item you are looking at is grilled chicken or grilled fish. The mac and cheese was super watery and pretty gross. The Thai chicken was nicely grilled and juicy. The apple pie looked like burnt skin and the banana pudding was pretty decent. The service was okay. We only saw our waiter when he sat us, when he brought us our drinks and when he brought us the check. The plates, utensils and cups are pretty outdated and the decor is nice typical buffet style. Overall I would've given it two more stars if the food selection was better, if the plates and utensils didn't look super worn and if the staff was more attentive and not just sitting down on their phones. read more

So this place we have been to twice. I'm super picky about these all you can eat buffets because they are serving a food genre that I think is looked at as an Americanized version of a culture that has some pretty talented chefs. The dishes Americans like in these places are really not what you would get if you were in China. So the only thing you can do is critique the location, the freshness and the flavor differences. Everything else is designed to be identical. For freshness this place is pretty fair. The food seems like it was only cooked a short time earlier. The flavors are unfortunately all similar which means they are not experimenting with seasoning. Maybe because the location serves an elderly clientele. The distance from the tourist attractions of Orlando makes it less likely there is a tourist overflow. Plus the appearance of the buildings is very dated. All that being said I'd still eat there again because the choices are limited. read more

I've been here a handful of times & the food has been delicious, some dishes more than others. Egg rolls are crunchy and the variety is good. The waitresses didn't smile but they did bring refills & picked up the plates. It's funny how some reviewers admit they have had numerous good experiences eating here but it only took one time they didn't enjoy it to leave a review. In other words, they were driven by the negativity vs the positivity. It's messed up they are inclined to leave negative reviews but not positive ones while they're having a good experience. I was a little apprehensive based on the Yelp reviews. However, what I found inside was a typical Chinese buffet. Everything I had was good. Not great, but the quality you expect from a Chinese buffet. We also had hibachi, which was good as well. My wife has a couple of items she didn't care for, but overall it was good. I would recommend Buffet City, as long as you know what you are getting. If you want Las Vegas Bellagio style buffet food, look elsewhere. This used to be my go to spot when I wanted a variety of food at a good price. It used to be good quality food. But on my last visit I was very disappointed. The oysters were not cleaned, you could taste it. The shrimp near the hibachi tasted disgusting like if they had freezer burn. The veggies in the hibachi area tasted fine I'm grateful I did not eat the other meat at the hibachi table. The sushi less than par. So I go ahead and scout out the buffet only to be horrified by all the flies, smelly old food sitting around being destroyed by the lights keeping them warm, and just dirty counters around the food!!! Oh and let me add there was next to no one there so why was it dirty in the first place. I could only push myself to get a single plate of vegetables and even then they didn't taste right. I was recently at this establishment when I saw one of the wait staff humiliate a customer. A young family trying to enjoy a night out with some family from out of state (I spoke with them outside of the restaurant). They paid for their meal and gave what little they had left for a tip. It wasn't much but they gave what they had. The waitress walked over to the table and said "what is this, a tip, what am I supposed to do with this". Buffet lunch $10.49 and $2.50 for a drink. We arrived at the Buffet City restaurant shortly after opening or at 11:00 AM. We were greeted upon arrival and told to pick a seat of our choice. The food was fresh and hot to the best that a buffet can provide. Remembering this is a buffet and not a cook to order restaurant. They included a stir fry area, which we did not try out. They provided a nice assortment of sushi. The food on the buffet line was tasteful and plentiful with many choices. Service was good and the used plates were removed quickly. Refill on the drinks were provided without issue. There was no rush to eat and we finished eating at our leisure. A bill was left at our table with a couple fortune cookies. Have been coming to this location since it was whistle Junction so many years ago here in St. Cloud. I will agree with all the previous reviews in that the quality of food, cleanliness, tastiness, consistency, and staff has gone downhill about as far as it can go. It's as if no one cares about anything except making money. The previous owners kept quality very high but now....its gross. My family refuses to come back here and I don't believe I can give it another chance. I just watched a veteran try to get ice cream out of the cooler that is entirely too cold and the ice cream is nearly rockhard. I think this gentleman deserves a little bit better treatment. The wall in back of the ice cream cooler was so filthy that we are leaving and not coming back, and you can't even tell the staff about it because they don't speak English! My parents recently became snowbirds... Originally from NY. When I come to visit, I make sure we take a night out or 2 to go here. The place is extremely clean, the wait staff is on their game, and friendly... My favorite... the Snow Peas, oysters, peel & eat shrimp, vongle clams and the soft serve ice cream machine.. It's fun to see how many people cannot make a cone... So fun to watch... And as they pass your table you have to rate the cone on a 1 -10 scale... Out Loud..lol The food is great...
