I'm a college student living in a rental property in Bozeman and needed the carpets cleaned after another roommate moved out. Called in to Buffalo restoration and they were super efficient at getting me on the schedule. They even called me back when I told them I had to talk to my roommates and forgot to tell them what we wanted done. On the day scheduled for cleaning, Ryan came to my house early and was ready to get to work. However, I work night shifts and totally forgot they were coming so I was still asleep. He waited for an hour outside my door and called me multiple times. I couldn't believe he waited! He was so understanding and helpful as I was running around moving furniture still half asleep. Emailed her questions & she provided knowledgeable, detailed responses, in addition to follow up phone call. The report she provided was detailed & informative, as was the mold report itself. It's a very daunting, concerning situation & Jean patiently walks you through the process. OMG- Just run and don't call or use them. This is a demo company only! When it came time to put it all back the confusion began! They asked us if we wanted to use them to put the house back after needing to rip our main room apart due to some mold caused by water leaks..yes I would like to have the house put back back together...what an odd question or work statement- "do you want us to do the work to put it all back together"- WtF-! YES!!! That's what Restoration means- and is more important than the demo. If the owners really want to run this business better ,call your previous customers and get firsthand wording that lets them know how off the mark they are and can start running their business properly- This business feels on the verge of decline. I've had multiple project managers on this project. (3-5) (a project should only ever have one project manager from start to finish ) https://www.teamwork.com/project-management-guide/what-does-a-project-manager-do/ With the amount of project managers on this project going from one phase to the next was not seamless it was stop and wait and regroup regather ask more questions- This caused the project to really start to drag and that's when we had enough and had to manage them on a Dailey basis and even then they only worked from 10:00-4:00 per Buffalo. If we thought we were speaking to the correct project manager we were wrong and the next project manager would appear not knowing anything of the previous conversations. None of the project managers actually really stepped on site, it was just a visual check and leave....Whatever they were doing wasn't here. If I tried emailing them to get something in writing, they would not email back and call so there was no way to keep get a paper trail going which is a project managers job. I email because I don't have time to chat when you want to call- respect my time so I can respect yours! An example of paper trail would be. I received an email to pay a bill. I went on the line to pay it. I grabbed a screenshot and sent it to the person that emailed me about the payment they never got back to me and then someone else four weeks later followed up with. "When are you gonna pay us", I mentioned the screenshot and in the email I sent to someone in Buffalo a month ago, that someone should have been on the the game to reply back at least that week if not within 24hrs letting me know that they did not receive it. If you can't manage the money and you can't manage the project what is the business that I am using you for? What's even more puzzling is they have no process that goes from what they're doing to the Customer and they even had a training day in the midst of our project and I said "bring everyone over and let's talk about what's actually going on here " and of course, that didn't happen, and I asked if I could speak to the owners, and no, of course that didn't happen either- still hasn't- I hope they can start doing this moving forward if they want to actual run the business they claim to have. They are acting so busy doing whatever it is they do they lost sight on what it is they're meant to be doing as a business. They can just go back and reference their website and try and implement the words that they put on the web sight other than that this is just a marketing scam of a company, buffalo is not a restoration company. They do demo and hazmat work and work with insurance so they are really there for you and what you want because they're just about getting the insurance money. And I really had to keep an eye on them to make sure they put everything back correctly because they had the rear view going on before they even set up the restoration part. I'm not going to detail the OSHA violations. I had to review contracts and hold them accountable for what was contracted. Had work being refused to be done and when I asked about it, I was gaslighted and said that that's not what they do even though it is in the contract. Yes they did do the work after. It was very clearly pointed out that their misspeaking.. For things that they don't do, basically their entire website . It was a struggle during the restoration and to make it feel like home again. They just want in your house get the contract and move on. PS- They don't have their own contractors. They hire locally, and they were good contractors and people which means that you can find them yourself , don't call Buffalo to do that for you . This is all about the management and what it is that Buffalo does is a big question even after I've worked with them. I would like to give a huge shout out and thank you too. the local contractors that did do good work on our house. Horrible experience. We had a pipe leak. They seemed like they were going to be great. They cut into walls, took pictures. Found the problem, but left us hanging. We asked for a quote. We get a call a week later with a guy saying "I understand you need a quote, what can I help you with?" My husband stated that they should know what needs to be done since they had their guys out here. The guy says "Well it sounds like you are a little frustrated with us, so I am not going to quote the job" This is after they have left us with 2 torn up bathrooms, bedroom, and kitchen. Also, sending us an invoice for taking pictures and discussing scope of work, but no estimate. Unbelievable and unprofessional company. read more

I had a small water leak. I was called at 8am for a "foreman" from buffalo restoration saying he was on his way. He ended up at my residence at 10:20 am. He did a walk around then went back out to his van and continuously chain smoked cigarets and through them on my lawn/driveway. He then came inside cut two small holes above the base trim on our wall above the leak. He said another team would be out to finish the job and left. Buffalo Restoration never returned or finished their obligations, we had to seek another restoration company to finish the job. My I suggest Day Spring Restoration. read more

Well, the worst happened and I had a burst pipe situation in my second home in Montana. Being that I was not in residence at the time, this has been a very difficult process trying to coordinate all the necessary clean-up and reconstruction necessary. My HOA manager recommended Buffalo Restoration and every interaction I've had with them has been top-notch. I made the call to them the evening I found out what had happened and they were on their way to my remote part of Montana (a 90-minute drive from Bozeman) the next morning. Ryan, the estimator for Buffalo, was on the phone to me as soon as they'd had a chance to assess the situation and let me know what they'd be doing. It had been a bitter cold week in the region and, of course, that kept them quite busy. But I know they did what was necessary to prevent any mold growth, which would just make the situation worse. They removed all the drywall, carpeting and pad, tile floor, some kitchen cabinets, etc. that was damaged and documented everything they took out of the house to provide to the insurance company. I've never met these people in person, but I feel like I have a team on my side. Ryan has always answered my texts and phone calls promptly and helped me navigate the insurance claim. I hope I never need their services again, but maybe my experience can be informative of someone else who does. read more

Worst experience of my life. City septic backed up and flooded my basement with black water. We called buffalo restoration immediately. They arrived quickly and began to move really slowly unloading a dehumidifier. They told me to do nothing and that they would return in 3-4 days. Septic was still in my basement. I told them that the room was an income room and that my wife and two kids also use the area. They had no sympathy and then they just left. I contacted another restoration company to see if they were taking the appropriate steps to mitigate secondary damages, and i was told that they were actually causing more damage. I then called buffalo back to try to express again how badly we needed them to get to work, but again I was denied. I decided to switch companies and when buffalo restoration came to pick up they're equipment, they were rude to me and damaged my walls pulling out they're stuff. The other company (Blue Sky restoration) showed up that night and had the water sucked out, carpet removed, and concrete sanitized. I WILL NEVER CALL BUFFALO RESTORATIONS EVER AGAIN. read more

I heard lots about buffalo restoration. I had them come clean my carpets in my newly purchased home. They were very fast with the cleaning and all seemed well,Two days later I vacuumed my carpets and got tons of stuff out of it. Clearly they didn't pull anything up. About a week later my carpets started to smell like mildew. I had finally put my furniture in my new home. I called and requested a refund, and was treated so rudely. They offered to come clean again but would not provide a refund. I declined the re cleaning since I had to rip the carpets out due to them "cleaning". I will never use this company again. read more
