We were looking for a new wing place and found it. Cool spot downtown on a random street. We sat at the bar and after looking around the place for a bit we realized this is a unique bar for midland. The bar service was excellent. Great mixed drinks and very cold beer. The wings we ordered were crispy and on the larger side and the sauce was better than average. We had the Buffalo and Parmesan. Don't eat here unless you want to wait all night for your food. My husband and I came here for dinner, ordered 2 plates of wings and waited 45 minutes for our food to be served. In a town where tacos and burgers are plentiful, I was told that Buffalo Jo's is the "go to" spot for wings. I came here last week with a friend and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly face and seated immediately. The restaurant was a cozy establishment with tons of seating and multiple televisions. So here's how my experience went... For starters I ordered the onion rings with a side of queso, and for my entree I ordered some boneless wings which were tossed in their special weekly sauce (pb&j and habanero) with a side of truffle fries. First off, I think it's freaking ridiculous how amazing their onion rings are! Literally dipped in a batter created by God himself and then fried to a golden brown perfection. This local establishment is known for their creative, daring, and bold flavor choices... I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. There's chicken, then there's Buffalo Jo's where everything you thought you knew about chicken goes straight out the window. This is a place where limits are pushed, masterpiece's are created and rules don't exist when it comes to their exotic flavors ranging from the hottest of hot to tangy, sweet and bold. And I can't forget the truffle fries, which unlike most truffle dishes I've tried are cooked in a truffle butter, these where actually seasoned with truffle salt definitely making them a perfect pairing with the wings. Didi I mention Buffalo Jo's is also BYOB? Yeah that's right, bring your own beer AND dog's are also welcomed (even the ones who can't tell time). Overall this is the perfect place to watch the game and grab a delicious bite to eat. The staff is beyond friendly and I can not wait to return again. Start with the good, the food was good we had the chicken sandwich and it was delicious. We also had wings they were good especially the Korean BBQ. I don't know if we came on a bad day but the service was very slow. They were busy so that was understandable. We waited forever for our food. Then we asked for a knife (asked two different servers) to cut the sandwich in half (I was sharing with my son) we never got the knife and it was never mentioned. So we had to keep taking bites back and forth which is not the best way to share a sandwich. We then decided to add more fries to our order and we waited and waited finally we just canceled the fries. I had very high hopes for this place as I read the reviews. Everyone seemed happy and very satisfied with their visit, unfortunately I wasn't. Today I decided to do something different and try out a new wing spot(I usually go to wing-stop) . First I ordered 24 wings half bone in half boneless I asked for sauce on the side I didn't get no sauce I asked for truffled fries I got regular fries I requested crispy wings but these wings where more soggy than a flimsy French fry dipped in marinara sauce. Don't believe the so great reviews you see this place is terrible I got food poisoning from their uncooked wings didn't even finish them cause of how gross they where if I where you I'd recommend to just make your own wings at home because I'm telling you right now the restroom visits every 5 minutes are not worth it and save yourself some money I ordered 24 wings 2 truffle fries and 1 popcorn and it came out to be 60 bucks. All this is it's just an overpriced mediocre wing spot nothings special at all .Customer service is alright by the way and the ambiance of this place was just off as soon as I walked in I didn't get no help and tried looking for a staff member for 4 minutes before I was helped in any type of way . Food was so fresh and came out very hot. The flavor of everything was great. The wings were a little bit over cooked but still good. Truffle fries and onion rings were delicious.
