I came in here to shop for the first time a few weeks ago. I had a chill experience, nothing out of the ordinary. I noticed a lot of the clothes seemed either basic or vintage, not much in between. A lot of the clothes just seemed a little expensive for what they were (like the basic stuff). More recently, I came to sell and I would say my closet had mostly basic stuff but a lot of brand names including some Jordan, Nike, alphalete, Darcsport, Harley Davidson, etc. However, they didn't buy anything and I was told they were looking for more unique/vintage items and that the condition of my items weren't super great (even though their store carries items in the same condition). Totally fine. I mainly wanted to leave a review in case anyone was curious in the type of items they might look for. I think condition and quality really matters. Customer service was alright. They were pretty busy. Also keep in mind that parking can be rough (ofc bc it's downtown). I came at opening, and there were zero parking spots nearby. I'd honestly give 0 stars if I could. Trying to sell your clothes here is a a joke. I've sold here in the past, maybe once or twice. I've never had a bad experience until today. I brought two full trash bags of clothes, Nike shoes, purses, jewelry. All things they advertise that they look through and accept (obviously subject to condition, style, etc.) I'm honestly less upset about them not wanting to take anything, than I am about the fact that they wouldn't even LOOK through one of the bags. The older lady who took one of my bags said my clothes felt "wet." Mind you I had just laid all of the items out for packing in the morning & none of them had been worn/washed in a while. She said they don't "look through wet bags" and basically shrugged her shoulders at me. I felt the area of clothing she said was "wet," it very much was not lol. I think she just saw that they weren't accepting any of the accessories from the other bag & didn't think it was worth it to look through all of the jeans and clothes I had. This place has become a glorified TJ Maxx. The majority of the womens section is drop shipping brand like "blue sunday" "indo ami" or some stupid names like that. The china dropship factory tags are still on them. I saw multiple of the same exact brand new garment on one rack, and then multiple of those across the S, M, L racks. Kind of weird for a second hand store? It was honestly disturbing. It seems like they order hyper trendy pieces from the dropshipping factories like polka dot, lace, ribbon pieces to make us who try to only shop second hand pay more for landfill plastic crap thats sold at any Ross in town. Sad to see this place go downhill. Not to mention their greed causing them to fill the racks to the brim, making it impossible to shop. Lol read more

I didn't come here to sell. I only came to shop an I was impressed with the selection and the way the shop windows were styled. I thought the prices were reasonable. We walked in kind of late and they weren't allowing any other people in after us so we didn't want to spend too much time in there as the staff wanted to go home. This patchwork vintage 70s jacket I just got, DROOL. Full disclosure. I'm a devotee of the Buffalo. I've been going to the Vegas one since it was near UNLV and I visit one in every city I visit. I've read a lot of complaints of increased pricing or the staff being uber cool. The staff knows what they are buying, it's their job and they are professionals. I was very excited to go ahead and sell some of my clothes that are not in use anymore. When I came in, I was directed to scan the QR code which I did and I waited patiently. Two more people came in after me with double the amount of clothes that I had and were seen before me I was very confused so I asked if my name was on the check-in and one of the employees was very rude and short and explained to me that sometimes people check in online obviously I don't have a problem with what she said. I have a problem with her tone. When it was my turn to go to the counter. She was very short didn't say one word while slamming my bags on the counter. it's very ironic because I happen to notice she was asking everyone else how their day was. The other employee was even confused as to why I wasn't going next. I am a frequent shopper at this thrift store but now I will not be thanks to the uncomfortable interaction I had. read more

I'll start my review with the one positive thing at Buffalo Exchange. I brought in one large and one medium bag of clothing and I was able to sell 1/4 of what I brought in and came out with $48 minus $2 parking fee. I would say that's not bad because there are times that you'll walk out with no cash. Sadly their customer service is very Jekyll and Hyde. Every time I come here you never know what personality you're going to encounter. After I checked in, I waited 30 minutes to sell my clothing and the entire time there were two buyers for that one customer at the counter. What would've been more efficient was to have one of those buyers help another customer to speed things along. By the time I was called up to sell my clothing there was only one buyer and he told another employee that just arrived that he wasn't into it. The buyer did not communication with me and I wasn't sure what was going on and simply passed me off on someone else. I don't know if this is normal protocol, but I see it as unfriendly and very unprofessional. If you're going for lunch, I totally understand needing to leave but that was not the case. The buyer that didn't finish buying my clothes went to a rack behind me to organize clothes. I don't really know how things work at Buffalo Exchange today, but I do remember back when people working here knew how to work with customers and act professional. Today that is not the case and I think after this interaction my days of selling to Buffalo Exchange are definitely over with, at least here in town. It's sad to see such a amazing fashion staple kinda down the toilet because the people who work here don't know the first thing about customer service. Stopped in for a switch up This was my son's first opportunity selling and or trading his favorites . They did offer more than what I thought they would put definitely not what he was thinking.. there are always things to buy. They have a nice selection. They have sales. They have premium quality products to every fashionista style.! I believe because I am not familiar with every brand some of the labels where I feel like they are proud the fashionista that likes that brand knows exactly why the price is what it is even as a used product. Went into today to sell some of my gently used clothes, and I'm happy to say they did take about 6-7 things and were going to sell them for a good price. Standard for Buffalo, it's 25% for cash and 50% for credit. It's always tough to know what BE is going to accept, so you have to keep in mind there are a ton of factors for them. it's all about what they have too much of, what they know will sell, etc., not always about your items. I chose to do store credit and had about $75 to have fun with. I found some unique pieces, and I think they have a decent selection. The store is pretty clean and organized as well especially since it was a busy Saturday for them. I had some unfriendly employees at the dressing room, complaining they "should be sitting by the pool right now", but even for the two unfriendly ones I had two very friendly ones who helped me. The buyers were also very polite. And I deducted a star because I saw a lot of items from some very "fast fashion" stores that I know sold those items for nearly the same price BE is selling them for (Fashion Nova, Windsor, H&M)... $15-$25. I would go back now that I know their style better and feel in the mood to "treasure hunt". :) read more

The staff are always great, even today, I had an arm full of items and one of the girls asked if she could put them at the dressing room for me since it looked heavy. I've been here a few times now, driving quite a bit to try and sell some clothes and honestly, after a third try of selling, I just took the card of store cred and just went to 0 that out. I feel like whatever I bring just isn't good enough according to the buyers, and yet the stuff on the shelves are...'unique' for the best term. They did give me a tip and said 'oh we take the style of whatever's at the mall' and I guess that helps (not really). After trying to find alternatives, I can't really say it's worth going in there and paying parking just to come back to my car with the same amount I went in with. The workers are cool, I just guess whatever I got going on in terms of 'fashion' ain't up to snuff. Buying is fine, selling is another story! But on the topic of buying, definitely there are some items in there that I feel the cartoon-y style eyes bulging out at the prices for some of those items in there, making me walk in and then walk right back out! It's worth a peek as a buyer, I'd say! Not...so much for selling, there may be better options out in the valley. read more

I was saddened by a visit to this location today. I'm an 80's baby and growing up, Buffalo Exchange was the best and most exciting place to shop. I even worked here long ago when I was 18. I remember how proud I was to be able to work for such an epic company and store. The employees were all in their late twenties and had roaring energy that filled the building. They cared about your experience and what they were doing, and more importantly they did their research on current trends, and brands. Today's visit was quite the opposite, and so different than the culture should be. I surfed the racks and noticed majority of the pieces for sale are from SHEIN and old navy, h&m and forever 21. Items were faded and quite frankly trash. I brought in 3 bags of clothing - now I know from previous experience here that we all think our things are worth more than they actually are and also that usually 75-85% of what you bring in is not purchased by the buyers in charge. So I fully wasn't expecting to sell much. I am also aware of what the associates deal with daily when people bring in actual garbage quality things in to attempt to sell. In my case I had new barely worn heels and sandals from Steve Madden, new unworn pairs of Vans in mint condition, kate spade that was not faded or damaged, a brand new j crew coat with a fur hood in mint condition, and their Gen Z associates did not buy one thing. Furthermore, they offered no personal touch, did not care to build upon the experience, nor explain why they were passing on certain things. In fact when I made a comment about the current buys on the floor and how they were passing up on things that would actually sell, the "soon-to-be" manager Chloe/Khloe rolled her eyes at me, and snapped back with a condescending remark as well as rolled her eyes to her colleague right in front of me. Regardless of the fact that they didn't choose to buy anything, I CANNOT believe that Chloe/Khloe is about to be named the new Store Manager, as this girl was not elevated enough to be a manager, did not care to be to make small talk, or brighten anyone's day. She is not ready to take on a store and build upon a culture that is clearly being lost in this brand and I wouldn't be surprised if this store falls and goes under like so many other businesses these days because of a wrong choice in promotion to management. First off I love coming to buffalo exchange. I am a shopaholic BUT this was my first time selling with them and one of the first things I was told is that I have to stay in the store but feel free to walk around, REMEMBER THAT. I end up going back up because my boyfriend had a bag as well and they were done going through it. They offered him $110 for three nice leather jackets and we said no we want the jackets back please. The girl behind the counter immediately had an attitude because they had already put OUR items in the bin and if the worker would've come up to tag them they would've already been out on the floor. BEFORE WE EVER AGREED TO SELL THEM. Mind you, we were told to go walk around the store. It baffled me that they have the nerve to basically steal my items and put them on the floor before I even know how much I would get for them. Her attitude was ridiculous and clearly no one has ever ruined her day from that attitude. Bleached browed with a medium length bob girl, work on your attitude and the way you communicate to people. Yesterday was my first time in Buffalo Exchange but it won't be my last. OK, I'm a boomer. Navigating myself from Summerlin to the Arts District was the first challenge then I was a bit nervous that I might feel out of place in a hip/young setting. Nothing could have been further from the truth. The young ladies at the buy counter were so friendly and welcoming. They bought four things from me and I went off to search for something interesting for my Poshmark closet. I realized I didn't buy enough time on the parking meter and my phone was dying so I grabbed two items that are wildly different from the curated vibe I have going on in my closet - a vintage cowgirl , rockabilly dress and a goth dress with a charming paisley/pentagram print. WTH? Actually the 80's shoulder pads in the western dress spoke to me and I have been known to bust a move, darkly, back in the day. The young man at the check out was equally friendly, the music was fabulous and I had a great time. Next time I will allow more time and take what they didn't buy back to the car before I try to shop. I'm looking forward to the Earth Day sale, say hi if you see me. Everything was fine I guess. I've been going to buffalo exchange for sometime and I've gone in multiple cities. The standard at this one just seems lower. The selection, the organization, the employees, the selling are subpar compared to the others. One employee in particular though, the taller gentleman with the mullet has a HORRIBLE attitude. This place is severely overpriced and the employees here definitely have long sticks up their rears. The "buyer" chicks you see when you walk in have severe stank face and make you feel unwelcome. The selection was meh. The buyers obviously aren't doing their jobs properly. Target brands, Forever 21 and Shein marked up to $13-$18 is unheard of. I was able to snag myself an Aritzia jumpsuit for $20 so that was kinda cool. I definitely had to dig to find something trendy and priced right though. All in all, I won't be returning to this location when I'm in town again. The buyers should definitely deflate their egos and start doing their jobs better. This resale store in the Las Vegas arts district is definitely niche- it's for the fashion forward, retro appreciating, yet also budget conscious, shopper. The selection is obviously curated with a nod to the unusual/eccentric/collectible. The staff are walking fashion magazines. ;) They also buy clothing on consignment if it fits their aesthetic. If you're like me and trying to sell your unused or gently worn clothes, pants, or shoes to Buffalo Exchange for the first time, I'd recommend thinking twice. Their selection standards are extremely strict, and even if you bring brand-new or lightly used items, there's still a high chance they won't accept them. On top of that, locations are in areas where you have to pay for street parking, which adds to the frustration if your items aren't accepted. If you truly want to sell some items, it might be worth considering other platforms or stores.
