They have souvenir type items that don't scream "AUSTIN" which is more my speed. We were greeted right away when we walked in by a super friendly employee who chatted with us for awhile. I kept wandering around, finding so many cute and fun items and wishing we had a bigger suitcase so I could buy more stuff. Apparently they're known for their vintage pearl snap shirts with fun embroidery; I saw one with a cat with lasers coming out of its eyes, which I thought was great. I didn't even look at the pricing on them while in the store since I figured they'd be pretty expensive. They sell them on their website and it looks like they run about $59-$69. They also have other apparel, like a pair of sweatpants that said "work hard & eat lots of tacos," which I could definitely appreciate. I saw jewelry, makeup, lots of books, art, candles, including a big selection of those celebrity prayer candles, baby items, bath items, CBD joints, stickers... they have a lot of stuff packed in to this store but it doesn't feel overwhelming. It's really nicely curated and arranged. If I'm ever back in town I'm definitely going to stop in again. We ended up buying some stickers and a little "Daily Catitudes" desktop flip book with cute photos of kittens. If you have young kids who might wonder about the phallic looking design on a puzzle or is able to read curse words and you'd prefer they didn't... maybe don't bring them into this shop.

Oscar helped me with jeans while another staff member helped my bf with tshirts (didn't catch his name). I told Oscar my dilemma with my 1955 jeans, and he recommended boncoura work pants to me. I think they're a new product and were made in partnership with self edge? I don't remember all the details beyond him telling me he fits women in these pants because they surprisingly fit women really well. I tried them on...and yeah. I walked out of the store with them and wore them the rest of the day lol. Everyone was super helpful while we shopped and tried clothes on. I think I actually had a better experience here than at the SF store. They have a parking lot out front, so the store is really accessible. If you're looking for raw denim, visit self edge. If you're looking for premium, well-made basics or you're into working menswear from Japan, go to self edge. They're knowledgeable, and they're passionate about the industry and products they carry. I'm glad self edge opened a store in Austin bc I'm pretty sure there isn't another store here that is within this market of clothing. I'll definitely come back as soon as my budget allows!

I came in needing some business casual shirts. Michael laid out (literally) several great options and discussed sizes. Once he found what I needed, he continued to suggest items that might be a fit. This was not a pushy sales job to send me out with just anything. He seemed to genuinely care about my needs. Also left me to wander when that is what I wanted to do. I picked out a couple of nice shirts, but I want to come back when I have more time, as the selection is quite varied, with lots of options - from very casual to dress and outerwear. Michael got me a water, asked about my needs - it was such great and friendly service. Others should come and learn about taking care of customers. At one point a couple came in, and someone needed something Billy Reid did not carry. Michael directed him to a specific shop that would meet his needs. Truly helpful. Oh - and the place was immaculate and well lit. I will definitely be back!

Not exactly the time you want to be improvising your wardrobe. That's when I met Danny from Bonobo's in Downtown Austin. From the moment we connected, Danny brought a calm, grounded energy that immediately put me at ease. He didn't just help me find clothes--he really listened, understood the context, and dialed into exactly how I wanted to show up. Within a short time, he pulled together outfits that felt completely aligned: sharp, thoughtful, and elevated without trying too hard. What stood out most was how intuitive Danny is. He balanced style with presence--making sure everything fit well, looked great, and felt authentic to me. I walked into SXSW feeling confident, put-together, and fully ready for the caliber of conversations I was stepping into. Honestly, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a great experience because of him. If you ever need someone who can think on their feet, understand your vibe, and deliver under pressure--Danny is exactly who you need. Thanks to Danny, I felt truly great about myself and my personal brand going into some intense dialogues and a speaking engagement. A hero.
