There's no there, there. Well, perhaps that's harsh. While being one of the oldest wineries in California, it's not the oldest "continuously operating" in that the winery failed, the founder fled to south America to escape creditors in the late 1800s, and it bounced from owner to owner to Church to State before being reestablished in the 40's. It's nice to see it restored and in operation as a testament to winemaking in the region and the grounds and historic buildings are nice. You will however find a "machine" and in particular not the vibe that Sonoma and the north Coast has come to represent, at least to me. Our tasting was in the "Bubble Bar" and its vibe meshes with the current owner's Bond villain persona. Some varietals (the Russian River Pinot) were noteworthy but in general, meh. It's worth a pass, then again it may be your kind of thing. Caveat Emptor

What a beautiful winery this is and my pictures don't do any justice. This was my first time here visiting this winery. As we walked up to the winery I noticed all the beautiful trees and greenery leading to the property. I felt like I was in another place on vacation. The winery has a maze to left walking up to the property that you can go into to have some fun. They have lots of seating inside and out. You also should make a reservation if you plan on visiting. We met a sweet lady named Mili. She had amazing customer service and was very knowledgeable about the wine and the property. If you decide to go you should ask for her. She will make your experience unforgettable. I'm not sure if they do food or not but there are places near by that you can go for lunch or dinner. This winery will not disappoint. It's one of my favorites and can't wait to go back. This winery has a lot of history behind it.

What a great experience Buena Vista Winery gave to my friends and I. Our first time wine tasting, and it was a great one at that! Our server, Mary, was so kind and so knowledgeable about all of the wines and the winery's fascinating history. A beautiful place to drink a lot of wine!

Last time we were here was in 2018 and we sat outside. This time we did a sparkling wine/ champagne tasting in the Bubble Lounge. What a fabulous spot. Joan was our wine steward and she was great, fun and kind. So many beautiful spaces on the estate inside and out. The Lounge would be a great space for a Birthday party or bachelorette party. Wine tasted great. It's a little off the beaten track, but worth it

Great winery! We came for a champagne tasting and ended up doing a wine tasting too! LOL. It's a beautiful place, and the staff is incredible. Our sommelier was a young man and so knowledgeable. He made it a joy! I'm sorry I didn't catch his name. We toured the winery, the caves, etc. As we left, the sun was setting into a beautiful hue. BTW, if you need accessible help, as my husband does, they have golf carts to pick you up and take you back and forth from the parking lot to the winery. We didn't know this ahead of time, and as I was getting our car to pick up my husband, a gentleman drove up in a golf cart and asked him if he needed a ride. So kind!! We had a wonderful time at Buena Vista Winery. Such an amazing experience!

Five stars for the tasting, ambiance, and experience! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and the entire staff treated our dog like a little prince. We all felt right at home doing the sit-down full tasting experience, and the charcuterie board was tasty and plentiful as well. The grounds are beautiful, I only wish we'd had a bit more time to wander around afterward. Next time we'll account for that!

What an experience! I was truly impressed with the time spent here. The scenic views and stellar service provided surpassed all expectations. Brandon dazzled us with the wealth of knowledge he shared. Surrounded in the beauty of the grounds, we started with a sampling of Haraszthy, Sparkling Rosé of Zinfandel as he shared the story of how its name came from the gentleman credited with bringing the first Zinfandel vines to California. We proceeded forward with the Private Reserve Tasting flight. Finally, we ended with a sampling of The Captain from the Founder's Collection. This is an experience that I won't soon forget. I look forward to returning for another visit when in the area.

Located in Sonoma, what a cute, historical winery. It has so much french charm. If you come here and don't like it, something is wrong with you. Members tasting room is upstairs, lounge style with plush french louis type couches and chairs. There are also indoor and outdoor tasting areas. For your entertainment, a plant maze. I don't know if I described it correctly. The reds were very good and I came home with a bottle of Cab Sauv. Will come again!

I'm a champs lover and came for the bubbles tasting in the bubbles lounge. At first I was very hesitant that I would be wasting $60 p.p. for the tasting as that's awful pricey IMO. But I feel I got my moneys worth, with one caveat. They typically serve two sparkling and two champagnes (yes, from France) and their regular champs was still on the boat on its way to the US. So I feel that the price should be reduced as it's not the same with three lower priced sparkling and one champs. They did have a brut rose option which was good, but I was hoping to try the regular style. Millie, our server was the best and most inviting. It was a sunny day and almost wished we were outside enjoying it, but my seating was much more comfortable. I toured the entire building, where the bubbles lounge is located. They have a lot of great event space. I did not see what the regular tasting building looked like but will be back to check it out, along with the gift shop we forgot about! What a treat to see the barrels of wine and the souvenirs collected by the owners. The wine club includes a ton of wineries in Napa. worth joining if I knew we'd be back for the comp tastings at so many other great options. I would go back and do the same tasting again, preferably with two champs. What a nice surprise for such a big wine brand/house.

I've done a lot of wine tasting tour over the years and I'm happy to say it's my best experience today at Buena Vista Winery. Michael, the Tourguide gave us thorough history of the founder of the winery as well as education of each wine we were tasting. We must have tried at least 6 kinds of different wine and I enjoy all of them! Members of the club can enjoy free tour and bring guests. They have wine sale twice a year which is a great time to stock up some favorites. Definitely worth to be a member here! You can make reservation online for tasting. Besides tasting or the tour, you can bring your own food to have picnic here. Definitely fun to hangout here!

The four of us did a wine tour and had a great time. Most of the wines we liked. We bought a few bottles. Glad we did the tour, but most likely wouldn't do it again. Lots of great photo op's around the grounds (swing, picture frames, etc) which was fun.

Booked the wine tasting for four. initially we planned to do the outlook where we were given a wooden cabana to sit with our group from afar. It looks aesthetic and alluring, but when we sat inside to see how it was, it felt cold and the walls were so high that you couldn't even view the vineyard. one of those things where the idea is great, but execution not so much. Ended up on the heated terrace which was way more comfortable. Service: 2/5 our server didn't seem very knowledgeable about the wine when we asked questions and of the information that she gave us, it sounded like a list of notes from a description that the wine maker gave her. This was very disappointing. The entire interaction felt strange, and there was no eye contact. We all felt rushed because when we weren't done drinking the wine, she would always come in and tell us she's gonna pour us the next wine, then leave, just so we need to finish the current glass we had. In general, if we aren't able to finish a glass of wine fast enough, or we just don't want to it would be nice if the winery could provide more glasses for us to try the rest of the wines instead of being rushed and using the same glass for every round. Overall, this place is great if you want something very casual. It's such a fun place to sip on wine with friends. Butttt, if you are looking for a true wine experience to learn, this is not the place.

My husband and I just came back from Italy and Portugal, and comparing the wines they were much more complex here. The area is also beautiful and we happened to catch the leaves changing colors. Taking a walk around the property, it wasn't over crowded and the vibe was chill. My girls and I went for my best friend's birthday and we honestly had such a wonderful time. When you call and inquire they tell you that non-members can only book on weekdays, so my girls and I made a reservation on a Friday. You pay up front for the total amount of people, which also includes tax and service tip, so when you arrive on the day of your reservation, no payment whatsoever is needed! It was $85, and with tax and service fee it came out to $111 each. When my girls and I arrived, we were greeted by a host named, Justin. She was immensely warm and inviting, basically sunshine in a person, and made us feel so welcome and comfortable!! She poured us a welcome glass of rose, and my girls and I were able to walk around the property (which was truly stunning) with our glasses. When we were seated, we were served rosemary almonds, and our server came up and introduced the history of the venue, as well as the menu, and wine. The menu was set, and it was absolutely incredible. This was the first time I felt as though this experience included an actual MEAL rather than an array of small bites or a small charcuterie platter: 1. fried olives 2. tomatoes and cucumbers with whipped feta (MY FAVORITE) 3. Prosciutto, melon and basil 4. Braised butterbeans with SCRIBE olive oil 5. House-made flatbread (so delicious) The wine was amazing, of course. We received about 4 glasses of 3 oz pours, which was enough for us. The Chardonnay was definitely my favorite. If you're ever in the Sonoma area, I HIGHLY recommend making a reservation you honestly WILL NOT REGRET IT.

We were sat promptly with a pour in hand already, and had a gorgeous view of the lemon trees and property. I cant remember our hosts name but she was super sweet, never pushy in us buying anything or liking anything. They brought out multiple blankets for us for the chilly weather and we waited about 10 minutes after being sat to get our snacks. The food was all so fresh, with lots of great flavor but also feeling healthy- we particularly loved the arancini and the bread with oil. The wines were all tasty but honestly, not as memorable as the views/staff/food- I think this winery is definitely worth a visit for those elements alone. I think the light red was probably my favorite but would be back for more food honestly :)

They start you off with complimentary bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar which was delicious! The tastings are affordable, with the Taste of Italy at $30, which is what we opted for. For the Taste of Italy, you choose 4 wines from a list of white and reds. We chose the 2024 Arneis, 2024 Gilia, 2025 Dolcetto Nouveau, and 2021 Teroldego. Buying 2 bottles of wine waives 1 tasting fee. The Dolcetto Nouveau is a chilled red, which I've never had before. Wasn't particularly a fan, but interesting to try nonetheless. We reserved our tasting but they do walk-ins, which we noticed were seated at the bar. So if you'd like your own table, I would make a reservation to be sure. The day we went, we did an indoor tasting because it was so cold, they didn't do any outdoor tastings. The outdoor courtyard is covered, and they have a large event space with some wine barrels that I presume is for wedding receptions. You can walk out to the fountain and vineyards and take pictures. We went in December so of course the vines were bare, but overall still beautiful and peaceful. There is an olive oil tasting room and various products for purchase. We were so grateful to still be able to experience our wine tasting here. The hospitality at Sangiacomo Family Wines is one of the many things that makes this wine tasting experience extra special. We were warmly welcomed by our wine tasting host and educator, Vlada, as soon as we arrived. We enjoyed a splash of Sauvignon Blanc that was amazing. Everyone that works here was so friendly and welcoming. Along the visit, you will see a collection of other wine labels from other wineries in Sonoma County and Napa Valley that get their wines from Sangiacomo vineyards. The amount of different wineries that get their fruit from Sangiacomo vineyards is impressive. Before being seated, we soaked in the stunning views of their vineyards on the property. We enjoyed a delicious spread of pastries, cheeses, and charcuterie, which we enjoyed as part of our visit. This winery is known for their exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Everything we sipped was absolutely amazing, and we loved all the wines we tried. Vlada was an exceptional host and we learned so much about this winery. We learned that this is a family owned winery that started out as a pear farm. It changed to a winery and love that it has remained a family owned winery over the years. Our tasting was cozy and we loved all the festive decor. The property has rustic trucks and a tractor on the property that they decorate during the different seasons. We were blown away by how much we loved all of their wines. We purchased a few bottles of wines to enjoy at a later date. An all around exceptional wine experience in Sonoma!
