We had a great experience with Lauri! She really made our day and we would absolutely come back!

Super welcoming and a lively atmosphere. Beautiful setting and facilities. The outdoor bar guy was extremely welcoming and sold us two glasses of wine. A dry gewurztraminer and a rose. Both very decent. The glass of wine pours were a good 6 ounces not like some other wineries selling skimpola pours wbtg. We were told if we walk up the hilltop there are some shaded picnic table with nice views. They didn't lie. Very nice indeed. Definitely worth a stop if in the area. Thank you! read more

Overall this winery was a beautiful place. The scenery is gorgeous and they make it accessible with a nice "trail" and many picnic benches to enjoy a glass/meal overlooking the vineyard. Our actual tasting was the let down... the sommelier came across as super unprofessional and just rushing through the whole thing. When he brought out the pours there was not an accompanying explanation/short anything. He couldn't really answer any questions either. Our 90 minute wine tasting ended up being 30 minutes. He kept bringing glasses before we even finished the previous pourS yes multiple glasses still untouched and he was just coming the surrounding tables weren't experiencing this so I'm sure other sommeliers were more courteous but unfortunately it really affected my thoughts on the experience. read more

To John, the gentleman at the front who seated us, and the first girl to pour us (who was also serving a big tour table before us) you guys made this experience a special one! Came for a tasting n left with 2 bottles - the history started as a love story n continues here in oak barrels n grape skins. Our faves is def the first one (don't wana butcher the name but the Gwurtzaminer) rly the whole flight ws excellent but we ws blessed to try the Naranja n had to get a bottle to go! I'll be asking my husband to make Oak Barrels now Dog Friendly for our toOtie n so kind to celebrate us as newlyweds! Def 5 starz from us! read more

Gundlach Bundschu - Cute photobooth! - Wineries Near Me - Sonoma, California

Visited the winery with my team, and we had a nice time! It's one of the oldest in the area and offers lots of wines to choose from. Most of the seating is outdoors (although for winter they switch to a barn nearby), and the views are stunning on a clear day. I feel like the tour could have been a bit more informative, but overall we liked it! read more

We went for the Harvest Pinz Vineyard tour. Rob was our host (Tour guide), and he was amazing! Luckily for us the other couple that was supposed to be on the tour with us had a schedule issue, so it was just my wife, Rob and myself. Rob took the time to explain everything to us, answer all the questions we had, and was very genuine. We couldn't have asked for a better time. The wine was phenomenal and the grounds were spectacular. So much more intimate of a setting than we originally expected! Thanks for everything, and good luck with everything! read more

Vason is absolutely amazing at Gundlach Bundschu; he has a storyteller vibe how he talks about the wines at this winery. He was kind and considerate regarding everything about our tasting and my food allergies. Spoke to a lady when we checked in and she was very nice. We had a two for one deal. The grounds and where we were seated for the tasting was very nice. They have patio seating outside and then they have restrooms behind a little pop-up set up bar with shade. This winery is definitely a must do!! 10/10 read more

Gundlach Bundschu is the winery that's hard to say but has good wine. They offer tastings, wines by the glass (or bottle) and memberships. We visited on an early Spring Saturday afternoon close to closing time but we never felt rushed. We opted for a glass of wine, and I was excited for such a generous pour. We all ordered different wines and we all enjoyed them. There are many picnic tables with umbrellas. We were told the tables were for tastings, and the area up a hill was for guests who did not order tastings. The scenery stole the show, it was gorgeous. read more

Ok, first time visitor to Napa/Sonoma here, just so you know. I visited GB with my two adult daughters on a Thursday in June based on a recommendation from one of my daughter's work colleagues. It seems to be a bit lesser-known among area wineries and on our visit, the vibe was low-key and relaxed. We sat outside on their patio tasting area in a very pleasant setting overlooking the hilly property. We were greeted and seated promptly in a beautiful spot and the wine tasting began. While there were three wines listed on the tasting sheet when we arrived, our guide poured us two additional wines during our session. I am not any kind of wine expert, but I thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We stayed about ninety minutes. There were others there, but it was not crowded. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and made our first wine tasting experience a success. read more

This was a wonderful experience for my husband and I! I only gave it four instead of five stars due to the initial disorganization by the manager. We booked a wine bar tasting and the manager was at the bar, but appeared very frazzled and even told us that he would "love" to help us but that he was "too busy" to do so. So, he said he was handing us off to another person who was providing tastings outside. That was totally fine and Jaime was a superb guy! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. He even sent us on a little "field trip" on the property! The wine was good and pours were generous! The property is low-key but gorgeous. There is a lovely outside patio and additional picnic tables scattered about the property. If we lived here, we would absolutely LOVE to come hang out here on a regular basis! read more

Our favorite visit of our latest trip to Sonoma/Napa, Gun Bun did not disappoint. We were one of the first people in for a tasting on a cold Friday morning and got sat quickly in the back area. It was a bit cold so dress warm in case, but I can imagine on a hot day the back room would have felt amazing. Our "flight" attendant was John (I think) and we really enjoyed his talk through of the wines and history of Gun Bun. He understood the need to speak slower for us to translate for my aunt and really went above and beyond with his service, giving us a few extra tastes. We really got our bang for our buck and we really loved the white, the rose, and even the Pinot. We think this was our favorite overall tasting we did all weekend. While it was too cold to enjoy the patio, it looked like they had a few seating areas. We would definitely love to come take the property tour or the cave tour on our next visit. read more

We visited the winery on April 9th 2026. My wife and I were excited to share the winery with our friends and family only to be disappointed by the lack of attentiveness and dismissiveness by our server Jo. She was too busy talking with her coworkers. As being wine club members since 2013 we were truly saddened by the lackluster wine tasting experience. Since moving to the east coast this was our first visit back to the winery since 2018. We are wine club members to multiple other wineries and have a good understanding of how you should be treated. Knowing that there are an abundance of other wine club membership options GunBun should pay attention to their wine club members and make sure they have a wonderful experience. We cancelled our membership based on this experience. read more

Service was attentive at the bar tasting which was just three wines. Ambiance is nice with lots of outdoor tables and a cool tasting room in a historic building. But be sure to check the tasting fee waiver because we didn't and ended up paying $150 for two tastings, a pinot noir and a rose. read more

First and best winery stop on our trip. We walked in without a reservation and they sat us right away on the patio. Every interaction with the staff was delightful. We shared a flight since we were driving ourselves and that was a smart choice. We learned quite a bit about the history of the winery, families and the wine itself. We bought a glass of our favorite and walked the vineyard. Beautiful - friendly - fun! read more

Unbelievably good service from beginning to end. Our server was accommodating, super helpful, and knowledgeable. Ended up getting 3 flights and 5 bottles. I love me a good cab, and it's kinda their thing. The cellar was epic and the view from the hill was incredible. Truly a great place to spend an afternoon. This was the second winery on our little tour of California, and it did not disappoint. Definitely book in advance, but I feel like that's a given for almost every place you'll visit on a wine tour! Super cute space inside where we did our tasting. Outside was gorgeous, but because of the rain, we didn't get to explore as much. I'd like to come back to experience it again when there is some better weather. We learned a lot, tried some really great wines, and even bought a few bottles to bring back. Hostess was amazing and very friendly and kind - we felt like they appreciated us being there, and we had great service. For a party of 8, that isn't always easy, so we were very grateful. read more

Our family group joined the charming Danny on the property for a well planned and presented tasting session. Danny met us as we stepped off our transport, gave us a welcoming glass of wine, and led us to our specially-prepared area. She covered all the bases; an interesting bit of history of the winery, facts regarding the wine making, and of course particulars in relation to our selected wines. She made sure to help us understand the nuances of the Tempranillo as we sipped, a new favorite thanks to her curation. Our relaxing and natural setting outside is big enough for much larger group than ours, yet felt intimate with Danny's charisma and attention to detail. She's a gem and the wines re pleasing. We all made purchases to extend our Sonoma vibe! read more

Very beautiful winery. Staff was super friendly Dog & family friendly. We went for their Hi-Fi Happy Hour. Gundlach was quite a special experience. We took part in the "cave tasting". I think it was somewhere around $80-100? I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for the full experience. We got a beautiful day out in the vineyard for early December. Not too cold, not rainy we got lucky. Out there Nora walked us through the whole process and educated us about the land the grapes grew on as well as how all the different varieties benefit from the micro climates they're able to take advantage of within the vineyard (yes, within the single vineyard they can leverage different climates separated by 15-20°f if I remember correctly, don't quote me, I had a bit of wine. We asked many questions and were educated on the way the vineyard used sustainable farming practices to keep the soil fertile and produce the best product, we learned about the quality of wine from different aged vines and so much more. All this and I haven't even talked about the wine yet.. We learned SO much. It was much more immersive than I expected. Of course we tried probably a half dozen or so wines, maybe 1 or 2 more than that even. The wine was all great, I'm not a wine connosuer by any stretch, but even I could taste the difference. Go for the experience and education, stay for the wine. The cave itself was really something to see. It doesn't seem all that overwhelming when you first go in but then you realize it goes on for quite a stretch. It's basically this big tunnel they dug out and it stays perfectly climate controlled all thanks to nature. The grounds were beautiful, wine was great, our guide was energetic and eager to answer all of our questions, couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

Really enjoyed tasting here! The service and wine were both wonderful and the property was beautiful. It was also really interesting to learn the history of Gundlach Bundschu and just how long it's been around. We had a group of 4 and made reservations to taste outside ahead of time, we had a shaded picnic table which was absolutely needed for the hot day we were there for. They had a nice small selection of food on the menu, or you could go in their little shop and pick some things out. We went with the charcuterie board from the menu. We didn't pay attention to what it came with and had thought it would be a combo meat and cheese board, though it was just meat. Our bad for not looking at it further. The presentation of the board was pretty and it was a good amount of food for us to snack on. Favorite wines of the day were the rosé and the heritage pinot noir. The pinot was on the pricier side and we still had a few wineries to go to, so we passed on this and all left with bottles of rosé. read more

Gundlach Bundschu - Tasting counter - Wineries Near Me - Sonoma, California

Gundlach Bunschu provides a unique tasting experience! As you roam the property, you can take a guided tour that walks you past the beautiful vineyards and into the wine caves. The caves are long and winding- which caused a little bit of distress for some of our friends who lean towards claustrophobia. I've been on many a wine tour and always enjoy getting information about the wine we're tasting and learning the unique history of the winery. Our tour guide was excellent in providing lots of information. I will say that our tour was lengthy and by the end, our group began chatting a bit between sips. Our tour guide redirected us sternly as she wanted us to hear all the information she had. We appreciated her insight and expertise, but also wished there was a little bit of flexibility to allow for some down time for a little less formal conversation. After our tour, we enjoyed a few bottles to share on the outdoor tables. I was able to find this wine in a local grocery store when I returned home and bought it in honor of our trip here! read more

Not at all as expected. Courtyard has a city park feel with blaring dance music from a live deejay (one of the owners). Wine guide didn't like wine so we learned nothing about the pours. I don't even recall that he mentioned them being regenerative and organic. He was sweet, but didn't even know much of the history of one of the areas oldest wineries beyond that it was founded in 1858 and survived prohibition. And he'd been there five years! Wines were average and reasonably priced, but you had to buy four bottles to wave each $45 tasting fee. Not worth it for me. Not the experience I was looking for and nowhere was this scene described on their website or Tock when we made the reservation. read more

We went to Gundlach Bunschu ("gun-lock bun-shoe") as our very first wine tasting in our Napa/Sonoma trip, and what a high bar to start with! We did the cave tour with Nora, and we absolutely loved her. She had the right amount of quirky, fun, and knowledgeable that made the tour perfect, and she was able to answer all our questions with as much detail as we were interested in. I was a fan of the Zinfandel and Rosé of Pinot Noir, and my friend signed up for the wine club because she loved all her tastings so much. The property was beautiful, the wine was delicious, and the experience was exactly what I hoped for our trip. read more

Been here a long time ago for a tasting at their bar. This time for their apres ski party which was super fun. Huge pours when you enter the party and wine just keeps flowing. The grounds were super festive. The staff and the guests took the theme to heart...everyone was in their best ski attire, which was so fun to see. The food was delicious. The wine was plentiful. My favorite was their heritage varietals, and their Sadie sparkling wine. I could probably drink liters of Sadie, it is that good! It was fun to the owner and his wife get in on the action and the shots off the ski. Fun time to be had at gundlach!! read more

A nice winery to try when you're wine tasting in Sonoma. The sitting area is cozy and warm. I felt welcomed by the staff. They're all quite friendly and love to converse with you. We did share flights. So my husband and I split pours. Our wine pourer was Meno. She was wonderful! I love how she knew each wine's story as she poured. It's always so fascinating to learn something about how the wine was made interspersed with the history of the family and how they came to Sonoma. We ordered a plate of bread with olive oil and this amazing sun-dried tomato dipping sauce. It paired well with our tastings. Overall, this is a good, casual place to try when touring wine country. Good wine! We enjoyed our stop in and made a purchase. I would recommend And look forward to returning.

My wife and I came up to the area for the first time from Los Angeles and our first winery on our list was Gundlach Brundschu. It did not disappoint and set a high bar for all other wineries on our list for the weekend. The grounds are absolutely stunning. What a great view! Plenty of seating and lots of shade. The gentleman helping us, I believe his name was Shipp although my wife remembers it as Chip, was so friendly and educated on the winery's history and all the wines during the tasting. We're very interested in how the wine was made and he spoke with passion on each serving. The wine itself was just as good as the location and experience!
